Christmas may only come once a year, but it sometimes feels like it is Christmas every day at Grand Illusions!
Tim sends out over 150 Christmas cards, and of course he gets a lot of cards in return. And every January he sorts through all the cards he has received, and picks out a few of the ones he likes the best to add to his never ending collection. Here are his choices from Christmas 2023, plus a few of the gifts that he also would like to share with you.
A tin toy delivery vehicle with a Christmas tree on top. Inside - lots of chocolate cars, wrapped in foil!
A Rubik Cube where every piece is the same colour, but there are different shapes. A different kind of challenge!
A Desktop Skatepark - so Tim can practice his Kickturns and Dragon Flips. Go Tim!
Small sheets of paper that are actually soap.
And a pen that you rotate as you write, which makes the writing colour change continuously.
Then Tim shares all his favourite cards.... - Наука та технологія
Tim is either the easiest or hardest in his family to x-mas shop for. Can't tell which.
@@mrhistorybuffYes, and especially fun if you can make the toys
"Made for children, oh that's me" words from the wise
“Made for children, well that’s me” I been watching for years on end, enjoy your kind heart brother. Bless you sir, thanks for another one. 🙏🏼 young cat from the USA wishing you well
The thumbnail made me worried Tim got a Hellraiser Cube for Christmas. Glad to see he is alive and well.
LOL yeah
…now that you mention it 😱
i think the cenobites would be beaten by Tim’s ability to solve the puzzle in record time while charming the cenobites 🤣
@@bostonrailfan2427 Yeah, Tim's pleasures are all about fun toys, novelties and puzzles. He's the one with such sights to show them.
@@coolsnowmanjoe9380 i heard that in Tim’s voice and laughed way too hard 🤣
Tim is the one man who deserves extra dimensional powers to make a world of endless toys.
The toy maker from doctor who?
Well that’s alright then
Underrated comment
Hahahahahaha
The fact that my two favourite Tim’s are friends pleases me no end! 🥰🥰
1:34 it is very comforting to know we are still inventing fun new sensory things
I like the line "Made for children. Well, that's me."
Nifty trick to have the kitty stand up. Charming❤
I can see that Tim is a real expert at skate boarding.😁 By the way, that mini skate board toy is known as mini fingerboard.
That looks smaller than the ones I remember from 20+ years ago. Do you remember there were also finger BMXs and even finger scooters?
@@kiddwong4186 They sell those as “Mini fingerboards” as apposed to the regular-size fingerboard you remember, which are still being sold. And yes, they still sell finger scooters and finger BMX bikes too.
I had that wierd cube. It's perfect if you want to solve one of these blindfolded.
Can't wait to see Tim doing mad turns and grinds with that skateboard :D
8:23 sorry for preschool humor but this made me blow air from my nose
8:50 awesome optical illusion, very much recommend this for a future video to show that one off !
These videos are a true source of joy for me. Thank you!
Tim's marvel, curiosity, & excitement are thoroughly infectious. I am so glad he shares his wonders & discoveries with us. Many thanks!
I especially like the focal decoder. The wooden 'Three Kings' card also is v charming.
Nice one Tim! ⭐👍
Nice to see you again Tim!
I remember going to frankie and benny's as a child and their complementary colouring page came with those multi coloured pencils.
Shout out to Tim's creative correspondents: Andrea Gilbert (clickmazes), Tim Hunkin (water clock), Patrick Hughes (rainbow), Mark Setteducati (magician), Richard Robinson (Brighton Science Festival, Ames window), and David Burder (3-D Images Ltd).
I love Tim Hunkin and love the fact that the two of you are friends!
I want that colored pencil
Tin with the Tech Deck!
That puzzle took me quite a while, but I finally managed to solve all 18 sentences. Very fun but can also be quite frustrating.
I'm having trouble coming up with a Christmas-related word with the letters I used for #16. Any hints??
Tim Hunkin! I love that Tim is friends with him!
That last card is epic.
Always showing cool things. Thanks!
You got some lovely pressies and cards, Tim!
TIM IS IN ON THE LIZARD PEOPLE! Lol
Great, thank you.
Nice!
Tim's about to open The Hell Rasier dimension
Glad you're still making videos!
Some neat gifts!
You **MUST** show us that Ames Window, in a future video, Tim!
Im pretty sure that, once he's mastered it, Tim will have every intention of doing so!
@@danforbes3573definitely will in a video about a related theme, like he will with the oddly shaped Rubik’s Cube puzzle
I've finished the puzzle, but I did cheat a bit using online tools. ... I think there's a mistake in number 5, with an extra E, the second word should be "cr____d"
Can we compare notes for #16? I completed the sentence and while the letters can be rearranged in a few different ways, I can't come up with anything that particularly relates to Christmas or the holidays.
Danke!
That Santa card with the eyes, I have his Magic Book, it’s a good/fun, book
Your intros are awesome! Love the video!
It could’ve really interesting making a collaboration episode showing machines and inventions from Tim Hunkin!
Mr Rowett is the man with extra ultra super sensory toys.
I’m surprised you’re not aware of finger boards. They were quite popular about 15 years ago
they might not have been big in the UK and he tends to eschew the trends…nowadays though? it’s a novelty, worthy of Tim
@@bostonrailfan2427 I'm from the UK. They were quite popular at the school I was at
@@thribs interesting…guess he didn’t know about them then
What fun, trying to find a new toy for Tim must be difficult.
hes still alive?! AMAZING!
Great video, but for some time I noticed that there may be something wrong with the microphone because left channel seem to be much louder than the right one.
This dude probably has, like, a toy warp drive from the future. He's just legally obligated by UN not to show us.
Yeaaah!
You know Tim hunkin? Howwww
Подобные конструкторы были у нас в советское время,можно было изгибать из них различные фигуры.
Grandy Nice ❤️💙
I got the one in the thumbnail for christmas too
Tim, if you think that cube is weird, ive seen cubes that use a mix of a square and triangular faces. A friend of mine who came from south korea had a bunch of weird cubes like that.
Theres an online tool called Spiral Betty that will let you make your own of those spiral color-in pieces
Most paper are made of wood 🤣
You know how one of those cards will work, you featured the same effect on this channel, twice I believe!
Tim, the Ames Window will look like this when you get it together. I hope the visualisation helps in your construction. 😊

That cube is called a mirror cube
6:17 Tim Hunkin! I should've known he'd be friends with Tim Rowett. Hunkin created The Secret Life of Machines, a great show from the late 80s. He's currently got his own YT Channel @timhunkin1. If you like Grand Illusions you'll love Tim Hunkin!
who is the camera man?
We NEED a Tim and Tim Hunking crossover episode.

Trying to decode the "festive hidden words" puzzle, not sure if i am doing it correctly.. You are more than welcome to post the solution under this comment
"Xmas" is the answer to number 1. The letters of "xmas" complete each incomplete word in the sentence, so the first word is "Examples". I'll tell you that the first word in 4 is an Australian animal.
@@what-uc i figured out the first one too, but wasn't sure if there was something else going on. Thanks for the hint
Beware of number 5, as the 'e' in the second hidden word is not supposed to be there.
Uploaded 12 minutes ago no waaaaaaaaaaaay
someone please give tim tech decks or the playmobil skatepark
The skateboard one looks like a knockoff of techdeck
if it’s not an actual techdeck itself
