Raymond's jokes get me everytime. Love his sense of humour.
Dry humor, hilarious!
"And the hat would imply snazzy" that cracked me up, thank you Jess
Nice. Dr. Raymond Ramoray's "smell the fart"-acting. Wonderful 😂❤
I know this is a construction channel and Jess probably doesn't expect to have to present the food she makes like a cooking channel, that said the food she puts together consistently looks amazing.
I was thinking the same thing. I also enjoy that she is a team player, helping out in so many ways.
Seriously. I'd subscribe to a Jess cooking channel!
Jess needs a food recipe book or blog!
10 out of 10 I'd eat it
Yess always look forward to what she's prepared ❤
Gotta love Rays suggestion for a manscaping commercial! The renovation is hitting some exciting milestones!
More Ray please!! His dry humor is so good.
Who doesnt love brother Raymond!!?? Be great to see Ray do tool reviews and 'how-to' videos!
Brother Raymond with the Holy Angle-grinder of Antioch.
The shots at night with the roof in place really hits home for the renovations feeling
Love your videos with you and Raymond working together because you know something funny is going to happen. House is looking good. Best wishes.
and Bruce! What a pal hahah
@@Ashe_Fenrir don't think he liked being on camera.
Scott's deployment of Léo Delibes' Pizzicato is always very pleasing. 😊
"That one is for my homies" - Jess, You guys are amazing. Thanks for keeping the videos coming.
Scott's videos on my Fri lunch break are always the highlight - You all are crushing it! So fun to see the house
Saturday morning for me (NZ), watching as I kick off the weekend. Yay! Another exciting episode 😅
Ha! You just nailed my schedule to a T!
12😂😅
What a beautifully done ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxYGamVaHfdHiPlAQaLa7zkwR02OKpGYDU ! The instructions and the photographs are brilliant. It is thorough and genuinely informative. Ryan got another winner! No one does it better!
Hearing that this is the first Rondo ceiling you've done makes me feel a lot better. I moved down to Invercargill recently from Auckland, and most of my work experience was renovations, reclads or maintenance; which meant that younger guys I'm working with now had more experience than me...
But if someone who's got maybe 7 years on me in the business is just doing his first one, then I'm probably not doing too badly.
“And the hat would imply snazzy” yes thanks for your valuable insight Jess 😂
This is the only channel I talk to when ever I'm watching, especially when its smoko time. Who hasn't experienced that yucky insulation falling on them while working on a ceiling. Great Episode Scott!
Digging the progress & how you’re working together.
Enjoying Rays sense of humour.
Dutch as a matter of fact reality done with humour.
Always nice to watch Scott's video on friday evening Belgian time
Everybody needs a Ray. He's an absolute star.
Great episode thank you Scotty, Ray and Jess for sharing your home build with us. Cheers
Ahahahahahahaha love Raymond just planing the ceiling beams standing on the ground! Love our Dutch blood 🤣🤣
Funny how i started watching your videoes when i was an apprentice and didnt understand anything, while still being keen to learn the trade. 4 years later i am not a certified carpenter and your videoes have really taught me a lot. So thank you Scott, for all the great content!
Ray's "practicing for Easter" comment had me in stitches. great work guys.
What minute was that at?
That rondo solution looks sweet!
Love how your house is looking.
I think a replaced/ new cieling looks cleaner and makes it feel more open without the battens.
I'm so jealous of your setting! Your garden is gorgeous and I can't wait to see how this house turns out. Scott, your attention to detail is impeccable. My aesthetic (and work ethic) is more in line with Laura Kampf but it's fantastic to see a builder with the eye and standard of an architect.
I love the work you're doing renovating your house. Those burgers, however... OMG, they look AMAZING!!! 😊😊😊😊
Half of the joy is the music selection! ACE! And at 12:30...pure cinematic magic. Check "Asteroid city" in a cinema near you!
"that ones for my homies" was unexpected and great
Loving the longer videos!!
Thanks for the amazing content as always from Hamilton Waikato, I can only daydream about doing what you have done to my house.
I cannot imagine anyone here in Canada going to the trouble you have gone to, to renovate your home. Jess keeps up the interest. What a wonderful positive person she is. The result will be wonderful, well deserved.
Looking like progress, good job!
Thanks for the humor and fun.
You and Raymond fit together well, and Jess is combining camerawork, apprentice and splendid foody very nicely.
That Squarespace segue has to be one of the best so far!
"And the hat would imply snazzy" ... Jess coming along veeeery nicely on her apprenticeship 😂
Great work Scott! This was a great video. You, Jess, and Ray made for a fantastic lunch break.
This is just the ticket on a Saturday morning, rugged up with a cup of hot coffee. I get sucked into the world of Scott Brown & co and just as I am getting into the action, it's over.
Thankyou again, I appreciate Ray's humour, Jess's laugh and, of course, your wise counsel and guidance. Ok laying it on a bit but it never hurts. Good luck with the project.
Funny thumbnail there Scott and Ray! Well done....LOL. Again, appreciate the occasional scenery of beautiful New Zealand as well. What a fantastic channel you are nurturing. We appreciate all of you. From Atlantic Canada, province of Prince Edward Island ☺🇨🇦 Female DIY"er👷♀🪚🛠
THE perfect way to start the weekend!
The sheet lifts are great, makes a horrible job easy. So many plasterers, here in Australia, don't use them. Instead they struggle with 3 - 4 plasterers on a long sheet. There's a way to use them for the top sheet, on a wall too.
Yay, another exciting episode! I'm ready with my coffee for some great feeling and what a way to wake up! Thanks Scott! Cheers from California.
Great video SBC … such team work too! Looks clean and warm 🎉❤🎉plus those amazing Burgers’.
I'm sure Scott has had time to polish his editing skills over the past few years, but the boy has chops! Somehow Scott captures a whimsical, story telling yet practical and informative process. Love Ray and Jess too, I'll say nice things about them in future videos!
I love the peaceful shots of the ocean in the middle. Also, great progress!
I got itchy just watching this one. Good work as always!
Really enjoying the longer episodes! Happy to watch all the details and discussion!
“Scott Brown here” returns with a solid example of the genre without relying on props. 8/10.
Ray's typical dry Dutch humour is great 🙂
Planning a ceiling joist, total nonscence! Will never be seen!
Make sure you tell the gib stopper he will be back in 12 months to fix all those cracked joins in the ceiling gib. We install it as per the manufacturer specs. And it still cracks.... sometimes. Hate to think whats going to happen on those ceiling joins done with glue and ply. Should be done with cove bond, sheet off cuts for back blocks and with battens to hold them with a 2-3 mm deflection to take the plaster and tape.
Hooray for ceilings! Looking good, progress is being made. I'm sure it wouldn't be difficult to find a couple of people who more than ready for it to be completed. Then shortly they will be so bored with nothing pushing them needing to be done.
You'll get there, faith in all of you and the work being put forth!
Lol, best segue yet. The hat does, indeed, imply snazzy.
Congratulations Scott. A lined ceiling is a real milestone!
I was just thinking to myself, "Hmm, it's been a week or so, I wonder if Scott released any new videos..." NEW VIDEO 2 minutes ago. Hell yeah.
I love all the characters in this story. Ray belongs in a Wes Anderson movie. Bruce deserves his own show.
You are getting some beautiful weather in Nelson. Great life move.
"You have to do the FIGHT IN THE DISTANCE face" 😂😂😂 jeez i love Friday, only for your weekly video ❤ house is coming up soooo god 💪😎
Fart in the distance. Aughhhhh 🤔
Banter between Raymond and Jess is charming and unexpected. And makes me want to use Squarespace for my web site. Just saying. Nice work, people!
The perfect trio
Try a bottle cap on the glue tube lid. Drill a hole and jam it on the nozzle - makes dabs of glue rather than stalactites that drip down
I almost spit my coffee when Jess said “one for my homies”! 😂
Keep this lady around!
I thoroughly enjoyed the ENTIRE video. You, and your team, did a beautiful job all around! I learned a lot too. Thanks.
One of my favorite channels! Perfect for lunch! Just keep moving along, slow progress is steady progress! Still got 5 months in 2023.. plenty of time!
Socket and switch box holes in plywood or plasterboard: have a block the size you want to cut; use multicutter with blade against the block to give nice straight square plunges. Fast and neat
Ray more and more reminds me of Barbara in Ted Lasso: an unexpected delight. Ceiling looking great 👍🏼
Great milestone! Loving these longer uploads.
Love the thumbnail! HA HA HA!!! Great job on the ceiling. Very interesting to see how they're installed.
That slider segue shot though!
Ohgodohgod, sneezed-in insulation, aka Insulfluf. For those who are puzzled by the brown furry stuff on top of the ceiling panels, that's shredded paper which, before it gets damp, is light and fluffy and blows around the attic so you end up with some areas with no insulation and other areas with massive drifts of it. However eventually it gets damp and settles into place and grows lots of mould and doesn't insulate much any more, except for the bits rats nest in.
For some reason they didn't figure out how to include asbestos in it. I'm not sure why they missed that bit since they managed to hit every other undesirable feature you could think of.
"that one's for my homies" 😂 🪤🐀
That tache is something else scottie boy. 😂
Greetings from hame 🏴
Did Ray get two Big Macs? He totally deserved two! 😁🍔🍔 That was fantastic, those lifts are essential for plasterboard ceilings!
Hi Scott,
Looks like a late night end. Your're strolling further from the professionnaland closer to every other house renovators 😁.
It's at those times that you're happy to have good friends and family. Thumbs up to Raymond for no giving up.
It's funny to finally see our Euro rail systems on an international youtube video. I find it wuite convenient, it doesn't have the fluctuations wood has. If set properly, it will be a breeze.
Good job!
You've probably considered this, but while the ceilings are open running ethernet wiring for internet/security camera needs. You could install a wireless access point outdoors, along with the number of other cool things.
This is secretly a cooking channel with some building stuff thrown in haha. Love the channel.
"and the hat would imply snazzy!" ... I love this channel!
Nice work, looks like the end of the reno may finally be in sight. The bad news is we'll get less Ray. :(
I think it would look awesome to do the plywood walls in your home like in episode 175. Loved the look of that.
Loving the fantail featuring in this e-ep Scott. Their chipping call is exactly the same as their grey cousins out here in Perth. Keep on 👊
Great job. I like the touch of adhesive on the joist plus the backer board at a tricky joint. Those are the details that make everything a bit better.
Back-blocking with panel adhesive isn't the best way of doing it. Should be done with the joint in the middle of the ceiling battens with an offcut applied with some Cove adhesive, then bowed up 1-2mm to create a taper.

Hey mate, next time you use the rondo furling channels and A clips, I'd recommend only putting 1 the centre then clicking the furring channel in, then click the a clip on the loose furring channel and then screw this into the timber. Will line them up quicker and you can use a laser tag under to get your heights
I noticed you got the pronunciation of "Hikoki" correct. It being a Japanese manufacturer the "Hi" is pronounced "he". At my local tool shop I tried to tell an Aussie tool expert he was pronouncing it wrong and he was about to knock my head off, as he knew the correct way to say it "High-Co-Key".
Can I’ve just take a minute too appreciate Scott’s moustache 🙌👏
Great video sad that my husband and I only have one burger between us and it is not as big as that. Looks amazing 😅😊
One thing I've learnt from this channel (amongst many others of course) is that Jess is a wonderful cook. Her dishes seem so vibrant.
Learning everyweek with SCOTT, cool man
Where would you be without Raymond, and his jokes, he's a great help for you both. I just love how Jess helps out to. I enjoyed this one and all the others.
Well done guys💪🏼👏🏼
You guys seem to be having fun. Nice.
Thats like the "canec" ceilings that old houses here in hawaii have.
those burgers looked amazing and the ceiling looks good too!
What a great episode. Thank you!
Baby steps there! You are not alone with big jobs and to keep working and moving forward. Always enjoy hearing what Ray as to say....and Jess! Like...those burgers are HUMMUNGUS delicious looking! Yeeowza burgers! 💯👍 ☺🇨🇦🛠👷♀
Untreated amazing property wood is not fit for purpose obviously SCOTT!
I had a summer job at the end of high school blowing that insufluff insulation into council houses in Christchurch about 45 years ago. I don't think I have ever done anything more horrible since.
Amazing.
I think I’ve said this before but I really like Scott but I love when Jess is in the exciting episodes and now Ray, his dry intelligent wit and outstanding carpentry skills compliments the channel .
Another great video .👏🏼 thank you
Your almost pulling off that mustash man, i think maybe a mullet would really help in getting it over the line 😎👍 ❤
The joys of living in the renovation. 😢
