This is an old video but I was researching why my wife's elliptical kept beeping. I was about to buy a new one when I stumbled upon this video 7 years after you posted it. Thanks for the fix, it worked perfectly and now I don't have to haul it out of the basement and replace it.
Had same problem with my freemotion 510, just stumbled upon this old video. have the same ifit module. Went in and disconnected the module and it worked! We do not use the ifit. and now the buttons (resistance and incline) work. I had tried everything else. Wife is happy!
My elliptical had the same problem but mine is a Proform 480 LE. When I saw this video I realized the console looked exactly the same as mine. I had already opened up the console once so I knew what it looked like inside. Anyway, I tried your fix and it worked like a charm! Evidently this console was used by other manufacturers also. Thanks for posting! I am glad it is now working like new!!!
Hi Kevin, this worked 100% with my NordicTrack C2000, I have talked to customer care today asking for a solution to the beeping and was advised to place a credit card over all the buttons on the treadmill to clear any possible air bubbles between console cover and the button itself that never worked, I was then advised to buy a new console and or pay for an expert service engineer. NordicTrack have insured me that they will advise anyone ringing of this option of unplugging the iFit from the circuit board from today. I will ring them in a month to see if they are good on their word. Finally a big thank you to you saving me big bucks with a simple work around that works 100% if you don’t need the iFit which I don’t.
2020, and this video still helped me! I have a pro-form elliptical, the inside looked different, but I cut the ribbon to the ifit, and it works now, with NO EXTRA BEEPING!
Oh My !!! Here is another Thank YOU on August 6th'2020. I happened to stumble upon this video quite by accident. My NordicTrack ASR 630 has not worked properly since a power failure/surge in my neigbourhood a few years back. I even took it to a Circuit Board specialist for treadmills and he found nothing wrong with it. It works fine if you do not power it up for a week or more. Then it works again for one workout or even during the workout, the bloody beep comes back and none of the buttons/functions work. I removed the ifit ribbon as instructed and presto....no more beeps and it is working like a charm again. Thank you.
This hack also worked on the Pro-Form LE 480 elliptical. I had the same problem and this resolved the issue. We do not use the iFit so it was a perfect solution. Thank you!
Thank YOU!!!!! The beeping in our machine made me want to throw it at the wall. I can't believe the added feature made me want a new machine and there was nothing even wrong with the main functions.
2021 and this fixed mine as well! I have that exact model ASR 630, and I also don’t use the ifit module. I’ve used it about 5 days/ week for a year and a half and today it was doing that weird beeping and the controls wouldn’t work. Thanks for the video, it was a surprisingly easy fix!
I had already looked for a replacement console for my older E7 SV and it as $234.00 I would rather buy a new elliptical than pay that, then I saw this video and tried it and it worked like a charm! Thank you sooooooo much!
Thank you so much! Your trick is working great for a treadmill Nordictrack ZS. It is a bit harder as you have to unsolder the Ifit module cable. Thats the way to save the planet!
Hi Kevin. You made my day. I was trying for weeks to get this to work changed chargers batteries etc. Now with this simple trick it works like a charm. MANY MANY THANKS!
This worked awesome, thank you! We were gonna haul ours to the dump & buy a new piece of exercise equipment. This has hardly any hours on it. It will get some now.
Yes, (LORD CASSO) he IS the smartest man alive (as you said below my comment)! I tried this on my elliptical and it worked!!! Thank you so much! I thought I had to buy another machine....this saved me a ton of money!
All I can say is, when it’s already broke, it doesn’t hurt to try odd things. It probably won’t get any “broker” My wife finally wore ours out. We made sure the new one didn’t have ifit
I can't believe that something so simple could cause such large problems. I have a Proform 480LE that just stopped working. While watching your video, I noticed that the controllers are essentially the same. I have disassembled the controller, cleaned, pulled and reattached the connections, but nothing seemed to work. The elliptical would beep and not allow user input. I pulled the iFit connector as shown in the video, plugged it back in and now its working again!!!!
Thanks a lot Kevin, you just saved me a bunch of green ones!!! And yes, this will work for other Nordictrack products with iFit slot, too. At least I did work for me, I just fixed my treadmill T5zi
Awesome thank you. Works for the E7 sv also. The board is setup a little different but it is easy to see the wires going into the the iFit module (refer to iFit port on the front of the screen for location)
I bought my AudioStrider 600 from a neighbor (moving) for $50, and cleaned the unit but got the display damp. I cut it loose from the rubber conductive strips and removed the tape now keeping it from seating. The Display fix is to put electrical tape all around it (to press against the case) after cleaning the glass and rubber contact areas with Alcohol. That worked for months then I tried adapting a JVC camcorder charger but it made +7.3V output. Redesigned it with 2 x AN7806 regulators but unit ran some performance mode and kept beeping unattended. BTW Amazon has replacement AC adaptors for $13 (T-Power AC adapter (6.6ft Cable) for NordicTrack AudioStrider 600 ).Tonight I will DEFINITELY pull the I-Fit connector after removing batteries. Engineering wise, something in that module is 'hanging up" the main processor buss signals, so most normal entries are ignored. It kept gong to Resistance level 2 then some Performance sequence which I used for over 30 min. I will report back ASAP. Final note, take off the base plastic covers and tighten down on ALL the main screws and the squeaks will go away!
thank you so much, I disconnect the I fit, it was soldered so I remove kind of plastic and work perfectly. you make me to save 380 dollars, cause I almost buy a new console. AUDIOSTRIDER 800 ELIPTICAL NORDITRACK
Amazingly, this also worked for me. I did not have a cable connector, mine was direct soldered and I cut it with a kitchen shear. My LCD seems to be working better now. I did try the iFit before and the programs would start but then blow up and weren't working at all. So it seemed related.
I have an Ironman 520E elliptical machine. When power plugged in, console lights up and fan starts. After a few seconds I get an Error 1 code on display, fan stops , beeping starts and no buttons are functional. Help!
Hi sir...i have cross trainer ...in its digital meter only hardness levels are changing ..its not showing any other parameters while operating...only showing zero at every parameter...can u give solution
I just got a 620E Tempo Fitness and the console screen lights up blue but none of the controls work and there is nothing but a blue blank screen displayed. If anyone has any ideas how to fix this I'd be grateful. Thanks.
mine stopped powering altogether, tried new batteries and lead but still nothing, funny thing happened, the following day after fitting new batteries the blue display light up and the fan came on.🙄 does anyone have any ideas what the problem might be?

Thanks so much this fixed my Nordictrack A2250. The ribbon cable was soldered to the board but just breaking it off worked.
Thank you!!! I thought I was going to have to buy a new elliptical, but this worked!
Glad it worked, but I cant believe they haven’t resolved this.

Thank you so much! Your trick is working great for a treadmill Nordictrack ZS. It is a bit harder as you have to unsolder the Ifit module cable.

It’s almost like they are trying to make them fail.
PERFECT ! ASR 1000 now operational, took all of 6 minutes thank you
Amazing! It worked for my CX650 with exactly that issue. Really chuffed so thanks!
Hi Kevin. You made my day. I was trying for weeks to get this to work changed chargers batteries etc. Now with this simple trick it works like a charm. MANY MANY THANKS!
Had the same problem with my C3si..this took care of it. Many thanks! Sure didn't want to shell out $300.00 plus for a new module.
This worked awesome, thank you! We were gonna haul ours to the dump & buy a new piece of exercise equipment. This has hardly any hours on it. It will get some now.

This fix worked for me on a NordicTrack E5 si. Thank you for posting this.
Thanks. You saved me $300. I had the same exact issue with my Proform 480LE.
This fixed my problem, I have a Proform. Thank you so much!
Thank you thank you thank you!
Thanks Kevin! Your tip is still useful after 4 1/2 years :)

Thanks so much. This fix worked on my Nordic Track elliptical ASR 1000.
Worked for my Nordic track audiostrider 600. Fix took less than 6 mins to do. This includes testing it out.
thank you very much. It has helped me. Machine is now working just fine.

Yeah, hard to believe that a "feature" can almost ruin the whole machine.
is this the model E5 Si ?
mine stopped powering altogether, tried new batteries and lead but still nothing, funny thing happened, the following day after fitting new batteries the blue display light up and the fan came on.🙄
does anyone have any ideas what the problem might be?
Thank you! This totally fixed my machine, but my console is dim even after replacing batteries. Any idea?Mine didn't come with power cord.
