    You do that trade now because the lakers could trade that pick for someone else. Them waiting on the Dame trade did not lead to a great haul that Highkin is making it out to be.

    Great episode Mike. Player choices and future possibilities are always my interest, and how to measure success is a very cogent question since it will relate to ticket sales. Any way the Blazers can promote the beauty of the process over scoreboard watching is my recommendation.

    In my opinion, it's less about patience and more about making the right draft picks and trades. Patience only prolongs the agony if the right players aren't drafted or if the right trades aren't identified and executed at the right time.

    Patience at some point leads to doing nothing.

    I think the game plan with Scoot and Ant is to not sell too early. There has been a lot of volatility in Ant's career here. Now that there is ONLY Scoot and Ant, we will see who is THAT GUY. If it isn't Ant, I think he is moved at the deadline.

      Be careful what you wish for. We can end up with a far worse owner. Getting somebody that sees the Blazers and the fans as cash cows is one possible. Another is getting somebody that runs it all by Analytics. No Jody isn't a great owner but one of the thjngs that is never discussed is how much actual real contol she has and how much is actually legally in the hands of Bert Kolde.

      She's definitely been a great caretaker. I think the biggest knock against her is a lack of presence which has led to a lot of fans thinking she's not doing anything when the opposite is true.

    Hair-brained trade idea:
    Blazers send: DeAndre Ayton, Anfernee Simons
    Bulls send: Lach LaVine, '26 first (1-7 protected), '27 first, '28 second (SAC), '29 first

      @rileymcphee9429 I would change it by not trading for Lavine at all. 🤷‍♂️ He's value is in the toilet, period. Nobody wants him. To take him on would be team sui*ide, regardless of the picks, cause he'd command minutes and be a serious overpay.

    • @bitcloud2304
      @bitcloud2304 Місяць тому +1

      This is laughably bad. Shaedon Sharpe is virtually a Zach Lavine in progress. Absorbing a player who has low value for arguably the best contract value guard in the league and a Center with untapped potential would be a mistake. The Blazers probably benefit from the twin towers given how Wemby will be a problem in the West in coming years.
