As a Ft. Worth native, I appreciate the shout out. Dallas is a great city, but FW also has world-class museums, a great zoo, friendly people, and manageable traffic for a city of this size.
I love Ft. Worth. I've visited a couple of times. I was very happy to spend all of my time in Ft. Worth. Loved the Texas State Fair too! What an experience!!
if you are in the panhandle go to Palo Duro Canyon state park and see the play Texas . The play is in the canyon and starts at dusk and ends about mid night . In south Texas go to Schulenburg about half way between San Antonio and Houston to visit the Painted Churches .Want to see a working ranch ? Go to Kingsville and take a tour of the King Ranch . So much to see in the Lone Star State .
I went to Texas for the solar eclipse and used your videos as my main source for planning a two-week trip to Texas. I had an amazing time, the people were fantastic, the food was delicious, the scenery was beautiful, and the cities and attractions were phenomenal. I wouldn't have assumed I would start the American experience with Texas, but it was worth it, and your videos gave me a sense of planning and really helped me make the most of the state. Thank you!
Love your videos. Just finished two week mid-west trip using your vids as our guide. Pella, IA was well worth the side trip. We are in Texas next trip.
I still have an open invitation from a friend to come to Texas (I might, one day). The Alamo and the River Walk definitely sound nice. But BUC-ees, Whataburger, H-E-B, Tex-Mex and BBQ are things I'd love to check out.
Come in December and see all the Christmas lights, or come in March or April for the spring flowers. HEB varies from neighborhood to neighborhood. So, check online photos of HEBs you are considering visiting to choose the one(s) that you find most interesting :) In San Antonio, check out some of the Mediterranean restaurants around the Medical Center, such as Jerusalem Grill, Basil Mediterranean, or Morrocan Bites Tajine. There are scores of good barbeque places and hundreds of good Tex-Mex places in San Antonio.
Great video! I love how happy you get talking about Texas haha. As a Texan and fellow traveler, there is so much to do in Texas. I’m not sure if you’ve explored West Texas much, but I definitely recommend staying at El Cosmico in Marfa, hiking at Big Bend National Park (Boquillas Canyon Trail is my favorite - it’s right along the Rio Grande River and the other side is Mexico!), Monahans Sandhills State Park, and Guadalupe Mountains National Park! Also on the Gulf Coast, Padre Island National Seashore is amazing and so is Port Aransas! Biplane Rides over Mustang Beach is a MUST! In the Panhandle, Palo Duro Canyon State Park is incredible and you have to do the Lighthouse Trail! I live in the Hill Country and it’s the perfect spot for exploring Texas haha. Hope you like these recommendations! 💗
South Padre National Seashore...before the COVID had public sea turtle releases. It is a great place for Snow Birds. In opposition to Houston, it is less of a spaghetti bowl freeway with NO TOLLS. A good selection of small yet tasteful eateries. Many gastropubs with live music. Easy access centrally located. Good Texas folk. If drive to Mardi Gras there is one heck of a beach party and Parade on Padre Island! The timing allows you to party HERE and then HOUSTON and get to New Orleans!
Otto’s German Bistro in Fredericksburg is a must, gotta make reservations though and it’s expensive but worth every penny. Also New Braunfels is Mid Size City not a small town so if you want that real German vibe definitely head out to Fredericksburg.
I live in Arizona and recently visited San Antonio and DFW recently and absolutely loved it. Went to the Riverwalk, Buc-ee’s, H-E-B, Stockyards in Fort Worth, Perot Museum, and the JFK Memorial. Much love for Texas hoping to visit Austin next for the Nightlife and Live Entertainment.

I love watching these videos. I plan on visiting a lot of these places, and it’s nice that when I do go, I end up at a lot of the places that you highlighted. For instance, my husband and I just married and honeymoon in Connecticut and took the entire New England by storm; your videos helped a lot when coming up with our itinerary. We had lunch at Abbott’s, drove to Maine to do lobster fishing on a boat and had donuts at Holy Donut, and visited the most photographed lighthouse. We hung in Boston as well. We had an amazing stay. You do an amazing service taking us along on your travels…thank you! Texas is on our list! I know at one time you could do a tour to see how US currency is made and such at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing in Forth Worth, TX (I previously worked at the Washington DC headquarters). Not sure about now but it is a nice tour. You got a bag of real shredded money at the end of it. TFS.
Lol as a Texan I love that you fit Whataburger in here at the end😂😂💀!! Also if you come during the the holidays going to The Dallas Galleria Mall is nice if you enjoy the ‘tis the season’ type atmosphere. That Southern hospitality is real strong out here so don’t be surprised if someone ask you “hey, how’s it goin?!” Then stops to listen to how it’s REALLY going with you💀💀😂 I think no matter how fast pace life can get it’s never too fast not to spark up a conversation and possibly make a new friend for southern folks🤷🏽♀️😅

There is tons of history in Galveston with homes you can tour & you can't beat the seafood. Go to GHF website for more info. Surfside is a really nice beach & away from crowds. Texas is a fascinating State! But if in Galveston - and you should - why go to the beach? There are just as great beaches in New York, Helsinki or Tel-Aviv. Galveston is a lovely, fascinating, beautiful, historic city; wasting one's time there on beaches is the supreme waste of time!
I think I understand the reason why you decided to film with that building in the backdrop for your Dallas location: because that brick building almost has a euro inspired type of architectural design to it at 7:20. at least it kind of looks like it to me!

Balmorhea, Texas. The best clear water in the State of Texas. The best part is that it is an oasis in the middle of the desert in West Texas. You can make it a weekend trip with a visit to Balmorhea State Park, McDonald Observatory and Alpine, Texas. You can even see the Marfa Lights. It is a must do trip, you will never forget.
