Apologies, we should have mentioned that while some of these demos are available now, some won't be until Next Fest starts on June 10th - 17th, 2024 @ 10:00AM Pacific.
I immediately paused the video and wishlisted Reka. It looks amazing. I’m a sucker for pixel art games already. Then add in open world exploration and building/craft…yes please. D&DG has been on my wishlist for awhile. I’m looking forward to experiencing that weirdness. Btw, I just came across your channel and I can tell already that you’ll be showcasing the kind of games I enjoy. New sub here.
Thought I’d watch the video to see if they’ve got anyone new on the team following Aoife’s departure. What a treat to see Jim’s joined! Been wondering what he’d been up to post Videogamer UK. Cracking team they had there.
He has been popping up to help out in vids for a while as has Liv from dicebreaker. I am all for eg/vg247/db collaborative video making. Also Jim is legitimately one of the funniest people on the planet.
Steam Next Fest is the bees-knees. I've found some wildly inventive games through them. They've honestly become the highlights of the year when it comes to unearthing that next gem of a game. Super glad y'all are making an event out of it with the different outlets. I've found some immensely good games through Rock Paper Shotgun, most recently beinf Arctic Eggs.
Great video! These games are really great. Thanks for sharing them. By the way, my game, 🏅Medal Winners 24🏅, will also be participating, it's a 2D retro looking sports game similar to the Olympic games. I hope you like it.
Been looking forward to 'Thank Goodness you're here'for a while now. The demo was a joy, and dare I say it, as a born n bred Yorkshireman, that accent wasn' 'alf bad lad. I'd tek ye for a parnt.
I have a GPD Win 4. It's great. Love the flip-up screen and physical keyboard. Well built, too. No bloatware, almost to a fault. Lovely little boutique handheld, if you can get your hands on one at a reasonable price. Sorry, niche device owner instinct. Carry on.
@@nightcatarts Kinda. Availability more than cost. The cheapest model started at 799, which at the time was a bit expensive and now is... mostly average. The problem is that doesn't seem to be in production or directly purchaseable from them, so it's a crapshoot if you can find one at that price in resellers at this point. GPD itself is only selling the 1000 8 series model directly, and even that is about to stop. And just like that's an issue, the assurances on customer support will also be, considering the lack of custom software and how much of a boutique manufacturer they are. You mostly either get on board with their pre-release crowfunding campagins or you're scrounging for retailers that will get you what you want and support you. So not for everyone, but I have one and it's honestly my go-to handheld even after what? A couple of years? These APUs all perform the same and this thing has the best build quality and Windows interface of the lot, as far as I'm concerned. And... I mean, it's not that ASUS will get you an upgrade in terms of customer support, apparently, so...
@@mademedothis424 It varies quite a lot depending on condition, but a few case scuffs can save you a bundle if you're patient (when it comes to any electronics). Still not sure it's worthwhile compared with a brand new Steam Deck though.

I think you should re-release this video when that time comes. It's just fair.
so honored to have made this list! thank you so much for playing and featuring Love, Ghostie!!
Wishlisted

Thanks so much for featuring my game!
You're very welcome, I love it!
I'm super excited for What the Car. I loved loved loved What the Golf.

I love this segment. And having three of you in the VO, is cherry on top
Yur Auld Da on Eurogamer now?
Yes! Welcome, Jim!

Hello! Hope you enjoyed the tiny nod to all of VideoGamer's Tony Blair chat 😅
Well IGN own Eurogamer now sadly so most likely expect them to have to make a lot of SEO mindless slop content hopefully not though
He's been part of VG247 for a good while now, which is part of the same network

Something I always hope for in these demonstrations is Inscryption VR, in my mind that game's atmosphere is very good for VR.
Sega Saturn rocked!

Hey... I have tried it. It's a good game😊
I recommend these two demos, if you get a chance to play'em "Fading Skies" and "Sea Fantasy / シーファンタジー"

Wait Jim!?! Previously from Videogamer?!?! Yes please!
I'm very intrigued by Tormenture.
I love my Steam deck, so this video is perfect.
Did Ian just film the beginning part of 'love, ghostie' in his backyard with his own toys??
What The Car? Is in Apple Arcade, it’s really fun on my iPad. But I have to admit, I’m looking forward to having proper controls on the steam deck.

The price is the issue with those GPD machines, unfortunately.

@@mademedothis424 Eh, you get a fair few showing up on eBay if you don't mind second hand stuff though.
@@nightcatarts I suppose that's an option. I don't know what prices you get since... well, I have one, so I don' thave to.

Hello there
General Kenobi
Hi Jim!
👋
OdinFall demo is not available.
Apologies! Some of these demos aren't available until Next Fest starts on June 10th - 17th, 2024 @ 10:00AM Pacific.
Dating in the afterlife? So hell does exist ... 🙄😔
I wanted to love Reka, but the performance is terrible and the controls, particularly for building, are fiddly, slow and imprecise.
