This video has been in the works since October so I hope its been worth the wait! I was invited on a tour last Autumn on Dennis Dart D15 to re-create a number of its services from its days at Pennine Motor Services. This trip was partially done in the memory of John Wright, the previous owner of the vehicle, who sadly passed away in 2020. The vehicle is now in the care of the Town & District Transport Trust who will be rallying the bus this year to keep the spirit of John and Pennine Motor Services going. I hope you enjoy this video with clips around the bus, some history and some timelapse videos of the routes we re-created on the day!

Love the older darts love the sound of the old engines in them used to have step darts round where I live then lowfloor darts but all been with drawn now. Great video 👍
Thank you I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Love the older darts! Sounds great. Thanks for another good video.
No worries and thank you for watching, I'm glad you liked it!
I too am hoping to go to some bus rallies. I always look forward to going to the South Yorkshire Transport Trust’s Summer open days. I love Sheffield’s bus history.
Same I cant wait
The SYTT Open Day in Summer is quite honestly my fav event of the year so I am also looking forward to that one aha
@@AndMoreCentral yeah, fingers crossed everything gets better.
Another Great Video Alex! 😎😎 To look at D15 you wouldn't think it used to be dual door, they did an absolutely seamless conversion!
Thank you mate, I knew you'd like this one! Yep it was a seriously good conversion, I didn't even think it was ex-London till I researched it
R.I.P to John Wright he was such a lovely bloke well respected and he loved D15 can remember many rallys and it's fantastic that Town & District is making sure his pride and joy is looked after and keeping his memories alive, John will definitely be missed
Agreed, the rally scene going forward just won't be the same. It'll be a lovely tribute to his legacy to keep D15 running at events in the future as many people knew him for owning the vehicle so shall act as a living memory to such a superb individual.
Love the video Alex :-)
Thank you mate!
that is such a beautiful trailer love the backround music
Thank you I'm glad you like it. The new trailer is launching on March 1st so hopefully that'll be good too!
what an old beauty
Oh aye it is a beasty machine!
Quite Obsessed With Step Boarding Dennis Darts And The Seats Really Like The Pacers Hope They Are More Comfortable Than PACERS
Well this is certainly the video for you!!
Cool video man
Thank you I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Did not know the stepped darts that late.
my local company had one until Dec 2019! It was mainly used as a school bus tho
Really enjoyed that. I was sad that Pennine had to finish the way they did and I blame NYCC and their reluctance to pay back to Pennine a fair rate for concessionary travellers. Lancashire CC offered a better rate, although an amount still not large enough for the erstwhile operator. Working in Skipton, I saw their buses every day.
I first came across Pennine when travelling as a youngster to rugby matches in Barrow, Whitehaven or Workington through Skipton and Settle. You could see their buses, along with those of Ribble Motor Services too.
Until 2018 when it ceased trading, a company called EOS Buses, operating in the outer reaches of London and Essex/Herts border,, had a livery extracted (more or less) from Pennine’s.
Thank you I'm glad you liked the video. It was such a shame when Pennine closed, I remember reading the announcement in Buses magazine and it was really sad, Skipton just isn't the same without the black and orange buses driving around but its still good they do the annual events.
I did hear about EOS Buses and did note the livery was similar, didn't realise they had ceased trading as well
I remember going on Pennine 215 with my Dad in 2012 I think it was (might of been 2013/2014, I cant remember ahaha) as we had to go to Burnley to sort something and we worked out it was cheaper to get the train from Sheffield to Leeds then a Northern service on to Skipton then bus to Burnley than using trains and entirely between Sheffield and Burnley and it was the 215 you mentioned in this video as I remember not knowing what operator was gonna be running it and being pleasantly surprised when a Step Entrance Dart turned up, much like D15 here, infact it might well of been D15 we had and on the way back too! Did they have other Darts like this too or was this the only one in fleet?
I had forgotten about that up till now! Was a very nice journey! Great video btw!
Thank you mate and damn I didn't know that, I swear every time we have a chat I learn something new ahaha. Pennine had a fair few of these steppy darts, most of which did last till the very end alongside some low floor variants too
@@AndMoreCentral Ooooo yes I think I saw a few Flipdot (02 plate?) Darts parked in Skipton Bus Station when I was waiting for the 215. I believe this was before Witchway started going to Skipton? As that was around 2015 wasn't it unless I am wrong?
Am I allowed to use some of these clips? (Credit given)
yay I can still Comment
Aye the comments here still work don't worry
isn't it possible to not have any music , and just engine sounds
When sped up the engine sounded quite bad. I shall look into it for future
@@AndMoreCentral yeah. honestly I'd keep atleast some bits at normal speed , but I'd just prefer a full length video. it would be nicer to watch imo
@@sjain8853 I too would appreciate a full route visual..
I just look at one of old video no trying to be rude but the microphone is bad
The old videos the microphone was pretty terrible mate. Since then I've got a new mic setup and do a lot of audio setting up before recording
