Wow. I moved here from Tasmania, and I have been homesick for most of the time I have been here BUT this vid has started to change my mind somewhat! I love history so I am so keen to see Ellensbrook and find out the history. The Jarrah trees are tremendous!! So I am so keen to go and explore! I lived in WA many years ago, and loved it then, but 20 odd years in Tassie where the temp is sooooooo much cooler than here and the views around every bend are breathtaking I was kinda spoilt. But I was in awe watching this, thankyou so much!! Really enjoyed and appreciate this vid, thanks so much for sharing.
WA is pretty amazing as there are so many different types of scnery. Yes, they are often hundreds or even thousands of miles apart but the sheer variety here makes it an amazing place to live. We are yet to see Tassie but hope to make it there one day.
@@westralianoffroad Oh I live here now... sorry for the confusion.. I lived and worked here in the 80's, and moved back last year to be near my family and so I am here to stay. I have lived all over this wonderful land but Tassie grabbed my heart there for a while. But for a number of other reasons including a bit of homesickness for Tassie I have not really explored WA, but your vids are absolutely inspiring and I am keen to get going - once it cool downs, 20 years in Tassie means I am no where near climatized to this heat, but it will happen. So biggest thankyou for showing the history and reminding me of the beauty of Western Australia!!
I lived in WA North of the river back in the 70's and worked as a sales rep for SABCO. Traveled from Carnarvon to Albany on a regular schedule. I loved the South West and nearly bought a property in Albany - that's where I loved.
Loved your video Matt. Was so great to meet you at Jarrahdene. We were chuffed we were able to find a bloody legend like you a spot in our booked out campground. Keep travelling and stay safe ✌️
This was by far one of my favourite videos of yours mate, the drone & camera footage was spectacular and therapeutic somewhat too. Thanks for making all these videos Matt. I'm buying my first 4wd this month and can't wait to get out and explore like you 👍👍😊
That’s really nice to hear man, thank you so much. I hope you get some great time spent in your new vehicle. I don’t think you will regret it! Thank for the comment!
I will be here in the next few weeks. It’s my first time camping solo. My partner is working and I decided to needed a holiday after the shitshow work is going through. He will be joining me a few days in. Thanks for inspiring me to give it a go.
One thing i really love about your videos mate, it is like you are our own personal tour guide (sorry if ive said it before ahah) thanks to kelly aswell 😊 i do appriate what she does to help you so you can come out to the bush aswell
Love the Channel like others have said it,s a Real person no glitter and other crap just a true love of Western Australia and what is out here to see i have kitted my 4wd out now and starting to solo camp around the Southwest it,s like you have said in earlier videos solo camping takes time to find a comfortable situation for yourself Cheers mate
Obviously, being a bit of a history buff myself, I love it when others include some local history as well as the camping and 4x4 stuff. We try to make it down that way at least once a year but this year (trip vids still to come for the 2022 trip), for some reason, I just didn't feel the buzz I usually get when I am down there.
Great video buddy, I haven’t been 4wdriving down there, looked awesome, lov the forest, stingrays were awesome, I’d love to do that, thanks for sharing brother
Great video mate. Absolutely love the old buildings and the history as well as that last track to the beach. We have a couple similar around here but you are not allowed to drive them as Nat Parks have closed them thanks to people ripping them up and dumping rubbish. Shame as there are some beautiful areas. Anyway mate loved the video.
Great content man. Really enjoyed this one. The whole reason I live in the southwest is so I can see these places 👌 The history of the bustle family is certainly interesting! Although they did open and develop most of the southwest they have some skeletons in their closet. I've spoken to the local elders and they showed me manuscripts of notes from indigenous people that lived in Busselton during that time. lots of murders and blood covered family history. Back in the early 90s one of my colleagues actually found the remains of a 16-year-old indigenous girl that had reportedly been raped and then beheaded a couple of km away from my house. Very sad history.
Yeah mate correct. There are some horrific events surrounding the name. Like everywhere. A lot of cherry picked story’s too I’ve found. I focused on what was relevant to the homestead and it’s history. For its most part, both the Wadandi and the settlers were harmonious in enjoying the area of Ellensbrook.
Stopped going down there once the developers turned it into a circus...have been spending nearly all my time in the deserts or just about anywhere else...might give it another chance...great video...maybe this should be on the "big" screens in the UK instead of the flying whaleshark.
Depends on where you go. Down Augusta way seems to have escaped most of the development. Yes it does have a couple of artsy shops, but they are mild and most of the stuff they sell is made locally, compared to Margaret River. Hamelin Bay and Gracetown are still good, just expensive. Dunsborough, Cow Town, Margaret River and Yallingup are ruined, which is sad.
Mate , I love the way that you have a green crashpad on the ground .then you make a cup of tea and the swag magically turns into a Grey crash pad on a stretcher 😂

Thanks for the comment Sue. I’m glad to hear, hopefully you can make it back some time!

It’s a gross injustice to not talk about and appreciate the history. I’ve always loved to learn it.
Another awesome video Matty
Thanks Paul!
Great vid mate, you just keep getting better each time. I can’t wait to get out there!
Thanks so much mate, I appreciate that.
Great video buddy, I haven’t been 4wdriving down there, looked awesome, lov the forest, stingrays were awesome, I’d love to do that, thanks for sharing brother

In the first part of this video, what brand hat do you have on? i have been looking for one i like and this one looks about right. good video mate!
It’s an Akubra mate. Territory from memory. Great hat.
Great vid man
Thanks mate means a lot!
Yorkshire tea sent from England. Better not tell her you can buy it here at Woolies. 😀😀
😂😂🤫
Great vids bud, just a quick one. Those antennas are too close to one another. They will cause sever interference to one another on transmit.
Thanks mate.

Bit of everything this one mate. Thanks for watching!

Absolutely mate!

Yeah it has lost its feel over the years that’s true. Can still find those spots though.

Hey Matty, did you by chance book Kangaroo Hill on Hipcamp while down here?
Not this weekend. Did book it just recently though however.
Mate , I love the way that you have a green crashpad on the ground .then you make a cup of tea and the swag magically turns into a Grey crash pad on a stretcher 😂
It was a green Crashpad on a stretcher the whole time 🧐
What drone do you use?
It’s a Mavic Mini 2 mate.
@WESTRALIAN OFFROAD how does it handle the wind?
What does ya mrs say when you tell her you're heading on another solo trip 😅
She loves it!
What beach is that at the start?
Any snakes?
Not this trip.
