The last car where you measured the truck capacity in X-number of dead Italians... You know what I'm talking about? I'd say that's about a 4 corpse trunk, eh?
Hearing the engine and chime reminds me of the 1998 that my mom used to have and the 2002 my grandparents used to have that my uncle has now. These cars were the best that Ford made, I want to buy one of these. Can’t believe this was the last year they were made
Before you all laugh at the Town Car’s relatively low power output considering its 4.6 litre engine displacement and make some comment about your lawnmower having more power per litre, what you need to understand is this: the Town Car isn’t about speed or horsepower or quarter mile times. It’s all about delivering a smooth, comfortable and luxurious ride at any speed, and the Town Car delivers this in spades. It’s because of this that I like to think of the Town Car as a ‘poor man’s Mercedes S-Class’. This also applies to the Town Car’s sister cars, the Ford Crown Victoria & the Mercury Grand Marquis. Not only that, but because of the body-on-frame design and the fact that the Town Car’s V8 engine is massively under-stressed, the Town Car, along with its aforementioned Ford and Mercury sister cars, is notoriously reliable - one Town Car featured on Scotty Kilmer’s ‘Show-Off Sunday’ series on UA-cam had done 486,000 miles (486,609 miles, to be exact) at the time of filming.
Your response is spot on! Unfortunately there’s many people who would rather stick to their money-pit cars, bragging about how much horsepower they can get out of a luxury car. This car is mean’t to stand out from the rest.
Absolutely beautiful car. I have 2010 Lincoln Town car with about 280,000 Miles and she still runs like a charm. The best part is the suspension. I am not able to find the ride comfort of this car in any of the other cars I've been in including the new luxury models. This is the kind of car that would easily last you a lifetime.
Lincoln/Ford Motor Company really screwed up getting rid of the Town Car and the Crown Vic. These were well made, reliable, great ride, safe, easy to work on cars. So sad. Lincoln has no nice cars now. The new Continental is too small and doesn't have the prestige of The Town Car.
@GothRocker7, yes Ford made a BIG mistake, and revealed their lack of perspective, and lack of care for the niche market, even if only 10,000 a year were sold. They showed complete DISloyalty to their customers. Maybe someone there will wake up and bring it back--the RIGHT way!
@YourTypical Asian None have the space or the elegance of the Town Car. Though I admit, the newest Navigator is impressive, as is the resurrected Aviator.
Beautiful car, should have never been discontinued. I’m never gonna know why they stopped making these. Tgey sold well, see them every day in car services.
@GamerAndReviewer Yeah Lincoln is Ford's luxury brand. And also Ford's 4.6L V8 may be underpowered but it's really reliable. I've seen a bunch of these Town Cars and Grand Marquis with well over 300k on the odometer. That's one of the reasons they are so liked by taxi drivers and airport chauffeurs. These cars will run forever and can easily meet the demands of such people.
Absolutely. I have said that a Lincoln Town Car is the only way to travel to or from the airport in comfort, luxury, and style. Along with ample space in the trunk for your luggage and generous leg room in the back seat to allow you to just comfortably stretch out your legs and fall asleep until you get home if you're traveling from the airport.
@@michaellovely6601 I'm sad that Ford hasn't done anything since 1990 to compete with the Lexus LS, Infiniti Q45, Mercedes S-Class, BMW 7-Series, and Audi.
Tough and reliable gentle giants. Although not being the measuring stick for American luxury since the 90's, they still were unrivaled till the end in durability & limited cost to repair.
matt munson maybe true, but then again what is luxury? The term itself is subjective. To me, luxury is expansive interior space in every direction with very comfortable seats , a smooth ride, and all the features you need and nothing you don't.

Well a brand new 2018 model would look different. But I would love modify the older ones to bring it more up today. Its a simple design with easy mods.
Screw what people say about this car, it may be outdated but older people LOVE these cars, their big good on gas for a large car, and simple yet elegant luxury touches that older people want. Not to mention the ride is great in these cars.
I have a Signature Limited also. Mine is a 2005. The exterior and interior are two tone with factory navigation & sunroof, chrome door trim and special chrome wheels. Amazing ride. Love this car...
What a gorgeous car. The Lincoln Town Car was the last real Lincoln, full size body on frame V8 RWD sedan laden with chrome, bench seats and the last American car with a hood ornament. Modular V8 can go well over 200k miles. They just don't build cars like they used too. I miss the Lincoln LS too but I'm really glad the Continental is back to evoke old school REAL luxury.
I bought me a 2010 Lincoln Town Car and I must say it's the best car I've ever owned not one problem I have forty seven thousand miles as of March 2015 and it's been great very comfortable recommended to anybody that wants a big car and in 2010 they were re- styles and redesigned and they are much more support easier than they used to be you one thing but they actually do handle pretty good now compared to say my 93 Towncar which handles like a boat

Just broke the front bumper by turning out of the driveway too early, once he turned too sharp and scratched the side (he fixed that though). He is planning on getting a smaller car. But I don’t see it happening since he likes it.
I wish the Lincoln Town Car was still available today, would of been a top seller for lincoln today. At least their coming out with the new Continental.
11 years later, I still can't believe they really made the stupid decision to kill this car off. Yes, it may have been outdated. Yes, it may have been slow. But that's not the point of this car. This is a simple, old school American luxury sedan. That's what a true American luxury sedan was. I'm 13 years old, and I do not look at these as Grandpa cars. I plan on purchasing one for my 1st car and I'm sure I will not be disappointed. I've sat in at least 6 Town Cars in my life and I sure as hell loved it.
I'm 21 and daily drive a 2004 which looks the same as this but mine has white paint. 214k original miles on it and 18 years after new it hardly ever breaks and the drivetrain runs smoothly and is all original! Handles ok in snow too with proper gearing, steering a patient driver and tires! It's not "fast" by modern standards but goes 0-60 in 8.6 seconds! Yet, if you turn off traction control, you'll be burning rubber all day long and watch her fly around 7-8 seconds 0-60! People think its slow despite having adequate acceleration because it does so pretty quietly and it doesnt feel so fast because it's a 4300lbs+ car! It's as heavy as a mid-sized crossover, small truck or minivan depending on options! And the last L weighed an astounding 4512lbs!
This car competes with Lexus Ls, Mercedes S Class, Audi, BMW 7 Series, Infiniti Q45, and Cadillac, but Ford was not serious about competing with luxury European cars. When we talk about a huge rear-wheel-drive V8 car for the year 2011, we find that the 4.6L 2V V8 engine with 239 horsepower is weak and out of line. With the rest of modern cars and a primitive 4-speed transmission !!! Even the 1990 Lexus ls400 with a 4.0 engine had 250 hp and the 2011 Lincoln Town Car had 239 hp. Remember that the V6 engines in this year are much more powerful than them, even the 1990 Lexus ls400 has higher safety, better specifications and a much better suspension system. I wonder what the engineers were thinking when they continued from 1992 until The year 2011 with the same engine and transmission on this car, and then they stop manufacturing it under the pretext that its sales are few and the suspension system is fixed. Of course, its sales will decrease because they have continued with the same Panther platform for more thanWithout any updates!!!
Can you explain why the 2000 Lincoln Continental has a 4.6 V8 engine with 275 HP while its big brother Lincoln Town Car only has an engine with 220 HP???? Why is the 1998 Ford Taurus with a 3.4L V8 engine rated at 235 hp while the Ford Victoria and Mercury Marquis have a 4.6 V8 engine with only 215 hp!!! Given that the Panther is America's largest V8 sedan, why would Ford's compact cars have more power and speed than the Panther platform! It is inconceivable that the Continental has more power than the Town Car than it is inconceivable that the Ford Ranger, Focus, Taurus, Escape, Expedition, Cougar, Edge, Scout and Arion have more speed than the Panther platform, which is the largest luxury car in America In terms of speed, I compare the Town Car to its competitors in luxury cars, Lexus LS, Mercedes S-Class, BMW, Audi and Infiniti. Does it make sense that the Ford Ranger has a higher speed than the large yachts Crown Vic, Marquis and Town Car?

One of my favourite Lincolns...Nice. Kyle, I hope you don't take this as offense and you don't block me over this but could you spruce up your intro to the cars every now and then.. There's a lot of copycats here that memorize your script down to an art.
Don't change it. Copycats happen. Saabkyle04 is an original - frequently duplicated but never truly copied. Give people credit for being smart enough to spot the real Mccoy from the fakes.
It's sad that these kinds of cars died off. I'm not a big fan of leather and tacky wood trim, but I love the feeling is an under worked V8 pushing you down the road. My folks just bought a Buick Enclave and that might be the closest in feel to the classic sedan in terms of ride, but just isn't the same. As much as I like the nostalgia of the Panther platform cars, they just weren't competitive, even 10 years ago, when compared to the likes of Lexus, Mercedes, and BMW. Lincoln needs to have its own bespoke platform to elevate itself from a purveyor of overpriced, badge-engineered Fords. They are doing a slightly better job of stylistically elevating the brand with the likes of the MKC, MKX, and the upcoming Continental, but they need a RWD based platform for both a sedan and a crossover. Give it a long hood with tons of space between the front fender and door opening. That's fine if the 3.5 ecoboost is used, but we all really want the Coyote lurking under hood.
Aaron Fink The Panthers were never meant to be competitive to cramped, overpriced, and plasticky German sports sedans. Just big, smooth, RWD full size body on frame V8 powdered luxobarges, and the Panther cars never tried to be anything else other than the classic American luxury car. That's right..I'm squinting at you, Cadillac CT6.
Sadly enough Lincoln is in full blown panic survive mode at this point. The 2017 Lincoln Continental is a great car with update styling. Like if you buy the top trim level. The dealer will come get your car at work or home take it in for service and leave you with a loaner. Then bring you back your car from the shop. Okay what brand does that?! Go ahead I will wait? 🤔
It was more than a slight update of the grille in 2003; they redesigned the headlights and squared off the front and rear bumpers as well. The trunk lid was also squared off, instead of the previous sloping one. Personally, I never really liked the '98-'02 Town Car that much.
Problem with the '98-'02 model was that it looked like a gussied up Mark VIII, so it looked outdated the moment it left the factory. The '03s were much nicer, although they still had a faint whiff of grandpa about them.
A faint whiff of Grandpa about them? LOL, I'm in my mid-fifties now and I've got a Town Car of this gen, and I've got a friend who tells me that I shouldn't be driving it because it's an "old man's car".
That's pretty much the only problem with these cars: old people seem to like them. A lot. They have the same appeal as the Cadillac DTS, basically. Large, soft seats, slightly ye-olde-timey styling.
2011 was the last year of the panther platform cars (Lincoln Town Car, Mercury Grand Marqis/Mercury Marauder, Ford Crown Victoria) here in the UK the town cars are popularly imported her but they are all converted into stretch limos. I would really like to import a town car signature limited but I would keep it for myself and family and not convert it into a strech limo
If Henry Ford (was still alive today would he drop the Town Car?) BTW the Ford family still has controlling interest in operations. Henry Ford: The Town Car stay! Sales and marketing: But Mr. Ford we only sell like 10,000 a year? Henry Ford: Ahh its better then 0!

CEOkiller You know I had five in mine the other day. It really just depends on whether or not your passengers liked pastrami sandwiches a lot.
CEOkiller hahahahaahhahahahaah btw whats the cc or horsepower
CC (cubic centimeters?) is 4600 (4.6l) and horsepower is 239. Rides like a dream.
Depending on the size of the guys ya knw?
I'm sad that Ford hasn't done anything since 1990 to compete with the Lexus LS, Infiniti Q45, Mercedes S-Class, BMW 7-Series, and Audi.
Chrome wheels and trim, white walls, bench seat, gold trim inside and a huge interior. What a beauty. The Town Car is a true luxury.
These cars will run forever and can easily meet the demands of such people.
datboiwes333 I just bought a 03 towncar with 95k think I’ll have this for ever?
Joseph Mcnamee If you maintain it, it should realistically last another 2-300k miles.
My 97 towncar has 282000 miles and still going need to change rear main seal that's it

I'm sad that Ford hasn't done anything since 1990 to compete with the Lexus LS, Infiniti Q45, Mercedes S-Class, BMW 7-Series, and Audi.
@@hakeemsd70m Enough said. Nowadays, luxury is basically a fancy-term for “ status symbol “ and the newest technology.
@@djl_cyber_yt Very true, and usually with a price tag well north of $100K. The Lexus LC comes to mind immediately. Self-parking, perfume sprayers, all that fancy jazz. It's interesting how much cars have changed over the decades.
@@hakeemsd70m Very true. Unlike other sports cars though, the Lexus LC is relatively reliable due to Japanese quality. Even then, they don’t necessarily have the same tried and true formula as the Town Car.
these town cars along with the crown vics which is the same platform all have the old Mustang GT's 4.6 liter v8 2 valve modular which is really putting out 260 hp very reliable engine you can't go wrong with these cars safety reliability and mild performance with nice 90's style
239hp not 260. That's the 3v motor from the Mustang. TC is 2v.

nageorgiou2, you're a rare breed. I appreciate your maturity. You recognize old school elegance and class. Save up your money, and the perfect Lincoln Town Car will be waiting just for you. DON'T cave in to the so-called cool, modern, sporty cars, because long after they have breathed their last, your Town Car will still be singing! I fantasize about having a car like this
Yasîn Newzad Go buy one there cheap due to low resell value..
Well a brand new 2018 model would look different. But I would love modify the older ones to bring it more up today. Its a simple design with easy mods.
How reliable
DanDan 215 extremely reliable!!
Screw what people say about this car, it may be outdated but older people LOVE these cars, their big good on gas for a large car, and simple yet elegant luxury touches that older people want. Not to mention the ride is great in these cars.
It’s crazy how, at the time he was filming a brand new car, now a classic. It’s crazy how stuff has changed Over the years
Considering 2011 is the last model year
I have a Signature Limited also. Mine is a 2005. The exterior and interior are two tone with factory navigation & sunroof, chrome door trim and special chrome wheels. Amazing ride. Love this car...

I'm sorry Lincoln, but that MKT town car thing can never replace the geniune town car
It's hard to beat these cars
Great job on the video as always Kyle! Being that I own a Town Car I can say that this video is special to me. Thank you very much!

My grandpa has a 2007 with 42,000
Grandpa dings are beginning. He is getting old. Just broke the front bumper by turning out of the driveway too early, once he turned too sharp and scratched the side (he fixed that though). He is planning on getting a smaller car. But I don’t see it happening since he likes it.
This car could outlive you...I don't care how old you are. My 2007 has 432,000 miles w/original motor!!!
That’s why I plan on searching for one with less than 20k miles. They definitely last forever thanks to the body on frame platform.
that car is beautifull i mean that s my favourite car
I wish the Lincoln Town Car was still available today, would of been a top seller for lincoln today. At least their coming out with the new Continental.
and the new continental doesn't even compete
Continental sucks
I have the 2003 Town Car Cartier-L. Love that car!
@@jehadhjaya2767 Fair point, but also, power isn’t the only thing that matters.
I think this is the car that is available in the GTA series as Washington.

One of my favourite Lincolns...Nice. Kyle, I hope you don't take this as offense and you don't block me over this but could you spruce up your intro to the cars every now and then.. There's a lot of copycats here that memorize your script down to an art.
My favourite too :)
Don't change it. Copycats happen. Saabkyle04 is an original - frequently duplicated but never truly copied. Give people credit for being smart enough to spot the real Mccoy from the fakes.
You know, even though ford discontinued these. They weren’t kind enough to still offer front split bench seating. I’ll miss these when they get old.

Love this car! Always have, always will!
Is it just me or does this vehicle look 10 years outdated for a car that is made in 2011? Nice car anyway.
+JukiReviews Last year they made it... (1998-2011) with a slight update of grill in 2003
It was more than a slight update of the grille in 2003; they redesigned the headlights and squared off the front and rear bumpers as well.
I love the Panther platform. My 2011 Crown Victoria is such a great car. If you can believe it, I got 25 mpg on a recent road trip I took.
