    At the very end of the video you felt the water flow with your hand and said it was luke warm, is it supposed to be at that temperature? What if it’s hotter than that? Is that a problem?

    My 1990 Larson is almost ready , after previous owners abused every inch of it . It's been a challenging project , but it's almost ready. 😁👍👍

    I have a question. One side of the stern drive is leaking where it says mercruiser is that normal?

    Chris, do you know where the power switch is on a 2003 210 ssi with the 350 mag? I have a single battery setup and I for the life of me cannot find the power on/off switch and I know there has to be one.. my boat has power but doesn't want to start, it just clicks once when I turn the key. It ran great last year when I put it away and had a shop winterize it for me. Also wonder if maybe there's a breaker button maybe that needs reset.

      Over the long months of winter storage the fuel tank and get condensation. Some water in the tank. I like to burn 5he fuel in the tank so, the water gets out of the tank and into the fuel water separator. Then I change the fuel separator

    First time boat owner here. 2003 Sea Ray 176 with 3.0 alfa. I've saved hundreds by watching these videos and doing my own routine maintenance. Thanks for these great videos. You're a gifted instructor.

    Hi Chris, I would like to know what type of grease I can use in the pivot area. I have a 3.0lts mercruiser engine with an alpha one and thanks for your attention.

      Get a marine grease. Most auto parts stores have it.

    Hi, I have a similar boat to urs I have a 4.3 do you have a video of changing a fuel pump. I put the boat on the water today and was running just fine for a couple hours I shut the boat off and after did not start. Any tips on what it could be? Usually I would hear the fuel pump turn on when I click over the ignition but not this time.

    Your videos are great, thanks! I purchased a 2006 190 SSI last year and have learned so much from your videos. After following your winterizing routine, I know I just need to clean and wax mine and I'll be ready to get out in a few weeks.

      I'll add that I loved your boat walk-through and how you pointed out the new speakers and stereo. One of the first things I did was rip out the 15 year old cd-skipping JVC head unit and add a marine-grade Sony, 2 new swim platform speakers, and an amp.

    Your videos are great! I’m a new boat owner and maintenance on an older boat can seem overwhelming. You make everything look easy. I do have a question though. When I start the engine for the first time in the spring should I see water flowing immediately or do I give it about five minutes? I started it but no water… I’m 99% sure the impeller isn’t bad. I’m not sure what to do.

    • @BigIslandMNMinnetonka
      @BigIslandMNMinnetonka  2 роки тому +1

      At the first start the motor needs to fill up with water. It should take less than a min for water ti start flowing out. Maybe a bit longer. Just watch the temp gauge and make sure it doesn't over heat. Make sure it seals good on lower end

    I noticed you have 4 blade prop do you notice the boat leaning while at slower speeds from propeller torque or was it reduced by the 4 blade prop?

    • @BigIslandMNMinnetonka
      @BigIslandMNMinnetonka  2 роки тому

      My boat does not have it a lean. But, you can get a little fin to counter act the prop twist. It goes on the lower end above the propeller. I bought the 4 blade the day I. Bought the boat. So, I don't know what it was like before the 4 blade.

    I don't see a heat exchange on your engine (similar to my 5.7L), do you still have to add the 50/50 mix pink antifreeze to the engine using the hose method before you start it? That's the one thing I cant find information on anywhere, if I need to add antifreeze to the closed cooling system manually before starting up the boat for the 1st run of the season. Thank you!

    I had mine winterized at a shop and they added fuel stabilizer in my tank is that something i should fill up my tank and run or should i try to burn off my old tank before filling?

    • @BigIslandMNMinnetonka
      @BigIslandMNMinnetonka  Рік тому

      Add fuel and run it. It doesn’t hurt anything. Some people add it at every fill up
