I'm getting a bit tired of music biopics but I'm a big fan of Chalamet and Mangold is a great director so I'll go see it for sure.
Me too. At least this movie is in good hands. But, I really wish Hollywood would come up something than just Biopic.
John is becoming Timothée's ultimate hype man and I am here for it! 😂
For me, i would say Timothee Chalamet and Austin Butler are the two best young actors of their generation
This is the second Bob Dylan Movie you all should see Im not There, Todd Haiyes movie
I've been psyched about this movie since I first heard about it. I loved both of the trailers, I DO love musical biopics, and I freaking love Timothee Chalamet! He's the main reason I want to see it.
I can’t wait to see this movie alongside Nosferatu.
John’s Chalamet glazing is CRAZY 😂
def seeing it when it comes out. truly hope he gets an oscar nom
The best music biopic so far has been “Ray”!! “I’m Not There” was great too… especially Cate Blanchett’s part!! As a huge Dylan fan I’ve been waiting for this to come out for a while and can’t wait to see it!! I hope Mr. Chalamet does it justice!!! Like I said very much looking forward to it! Have a great night everyone!!!🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
I bet it'll get oscar buzz
There are no pre-records in the movie at all! According to Zane Lowe interview, TC said he is playing it all live.
James Mangold knows how to make a music-centered biopic. Walk the Line was fantastic, and Complete Unknown looks really interesting, too. Can't get enough Dylan. I'm excited for this look at his very early start. I would love for Mangold to tackle a Kurt Cobain biopic at some point. What a trilogy that would be. CASH, DYLAN, COBAIN ha.
John, I didn't grow up with Dylan's music on at the house either, but when I discovered him there was no going back. You should check out his albums HIGHWAY 61 REVISITED and FREEWHEELIN' BOB DYLAN and BRINGING IT ALL BACK HOME and then go from there. He is the best. Glad to finally hear you cover a movie that is Bob Dylan related. I was hoping you were going to discuss Scorsese's ROLLING THUNDER REVUE when it was released back in 2019, but it got lost in the Marvel/Star Wars shuffle. I get it (I had even sent in a question about it to you but it never appeared on "Mailbag"). I hope A COMPLETE UNKNOWN is good!
I think Pattinson is better but Timothy is right up there with him.
Pattinson is not even close to him if you ask any mature actor about Timothée. He is a phenomenon, a new James Dean.
Please people , don’t compare Timothee Chalamet with other octors. He is so talented and gifted to be a great actor.
Biopics kinda meh to me, but I may check this out! Definitely more excited for Nosferatu, The Lord of the Rings anime film and can’t forget Sonic 3! This, Kraven and Babygirl just might be passes or it’ll be another month I use the fuck out of my AMC a list xD
Yeah yeah, you are not the demo target, we get it !
I was pretty let down by it tbh, the performances are great, and i would say a best actor nom is a certainty but outside of that, its really slow and honestly not super accessible for anyone who doesnt already know the story or listen to folk music
Better Man is the far better musical biopic of the season imo
Bro glazing crazyyyyyy
Im waiting for Chalamet to turn into what John says he is. Lol. Hes spoken of as if hes a young kid. By the time Daniel Day LEwis was his age, he was already the best actor in the business
Bro, that’s an exception. Only a handful were ever on that caliber level of acting
@@tannerhuskins330 so dont make the comparison, which is my point nd the point of others of the "glazing"
@thetinestavenger9863 LOL Timothee had his breakthrough role and first Oscar nomination at 21/22. Daniel Day-Lewis had his first critically praises performances at 28 in 1985. And got nominated and won his first Oscar at 32/33 years old in 1990. Timmy is soooo far ahead of Daniel at his age it's not even comparable. EDIT: for reference Timothee is 28 right now, about to turn 29.
I think Timothee is a good actor but he never truly disappears in his roles imo. Idk there’s something about him that I always just see him as Timothee and not whatever character he’s playing. I think maybe it’s the way he walks lol. He’s definitely one of the better actors in his age group but I don’t think he’s extraordinary or anything. I do think Austin Butler is pretty good as well
@kaleyjoplinRAWRR that's a fair opinion to have. But that's not what original commenter said. Original commenter said that Timothee Chalamet is behind Daniel Day-Lewis at the same age. That is objectively not true. By objective metrics, Timothee achieved a lot more than Daniel at the same age.
It looks like it's going by the tired musical biopic formula. Meanwhile, some of the most, if not most, inventive musical biopic is *also* about Bob Dylan.
It’s a recombination blend of Tim AND Bob Dylan’s vocals…
Hollywood has been doing this for years now.
It's not. It's literally Timmy singing live. They talk about it in literally every promo interview or feature
no it isn't lol. in the movie itself, he literally is singing live. it's funny people keep saying things like this because it's actually just a huge compliment lol
Timothee started working on this role 4 years ago and he trained on the guitar, the harmonica and vocals. It’s all him, it’s all live.
Since Dylan was involved in the film, you know it’s going to be completely authentic. I mean, nobody is less “Hollywood” than Bob Dylan.
