  • Pinnacles National Park is California's youngest and smallest National Park. Pinnacles isn’t the most visited park in our state, but it’s packed with many wonderful spots to explore, and this week we're hiking Balconies Cave Trail.
Pinnacles National Park is made up of two sides, the east side and the west side. There are no roads open to vehicles that connect the two sides through the park, so Balconies Cave is most easily accessed from the west side.
Balconies Caves are actually interconnected talus caves, which were formed when giant volcanic boulders (some weighting thousands of tons) tumbled into the faults and fractured gorge below long ago during earthquakes and landslides. These massive rocks piled up, creating unique cave-like ceilings. There are several areas inside the caves that are always left in complete darkness, so make sure to bring a headlamp. Please remember the Leave No Trace Principles and respect this incredible natural wonder when you visit.

Very thorough and informative! I car camped here last year but that was before I was making videos. This was a fun way to re-live my visit. Thanks! Looking forward to seeing your channel continue to grow.
