Not responding for her, but in the absence of that info, its always wise to use the recommended size per whatever yarn you are using for the project. :)
Hi Love the videos, thanks for posting them,, just with the pattern, I says on size M-L Row 6-9 DC In 1-1 Ratio With Previous Stitch, so Is that the Back loop only Previous stitch? or just a DC stitch for these rows, Thanks the same question for XL hat too rows 7-10 & row 12 (previous stitch what is it). Cheers from Australia
This is the large size! The pattern includes tips for “sizing up” without jumping to the XL size too! If your hat is too small, try adding 2 more DC to the magic ring from the start, otherwise, you can do one more row on the top before you go down! Let me know if that makes sense!
@@crafty_mama_mirI’m gonna try and use my k hook bc it’s 6.5mm but it’s weird my all metal n hook is 9.0mm and my n hook with the grip is 10.0mm so yeah 🤞😅
It just depends on the yarn you need! If you do an XXL size, you would just adjust by adding one more row to the top, and then one extra row on the side! Thank you again for the support!
The hat is so cute! Btw , did u knit before? It's just that you're holding your hook like a knitting needle! Haha , but I'll definitely try this pattern , the instructions were SO clear. Thank you so much! ❤️❤️
Hi! Important to note I use 2 strands of yarn at a time, so I don’t use the “suggested” hook size for each yarn!!! Thank you for sharing and tag us if you post so we can see 💜
Question um... does yarn size affect the hat size? Also do you think you could show the process and walk through all the steps? I had a hard time keeping up and understanding all the steps.
I’m going to do another tutorial video one of these days, but yes yarn size and tension affect the hat! If your hat feels more like a beanie than a bucket hat, add 2 more DC in to the first round/row, and if it still feels small, do one more row of increases in the 5th THEN work in the back loop, hope that makes sense! There’s more tips in the pattern idk if you’ve checked those out or not but I use 2 strands at a time!
Ik maak het voor de zomer met katoen daar op 2,5 m moet nog wat meer toeren maken voor boven op dat vind ik wel uit hoe ik dat moet doen. Je patroon is goed t volgen simpel en heel duidelijk Dank je wel 🫶
Followed everything you did i dont know was it my wool or hook but mine wasnt flat at the begginglike yours it staarted to take a round ball shape at the top and did not turn out right afterwards but i followed each step correctly, can u help me figure out what was wrong with mine?
lovely hat and lovely video.. i have a question for anyone who can answer me. in the beginning of the video she is wearing a lightish lemony color hat. was size was that hat wud anybody know.. was it a medium or an X-large hat?
I'm having difficulty with the pattern, Could you add to the pattern measurements? I tried the stich count but the size medium end up like a newborn size. I'm using the yarn and the needle recommended. Thanks!
Hi! The next time I make a bucket hat I will add in some dimensions! Your tension may be way tighter than mine, so I would try the extra large size! Send me a DM on insta if you have any other questions! It takes me a minute to get to them but I will try to help!
Hi I love the bucket hat and I am trying my third one but I have a question.....after you do the 6th row for the extra large bucket hat.....do you flip the hat inside out? I think to get that ridge I need to do it on the front loop unless you are flipping it....sorry if I am confused but I am new....my first hat I followed what you said in the video and I didn't have a ridge on the top edge, it was on the inside of my hat not the outside 😕 the second hat I flipped what you said and did it on the front loop first and then the back loop at the bottom....that seemed to work if I am not flipping it. Thanks in advance for your help.
Yay thank you so much for the support!! I would do the back loop only on the 6th row, and then the front loop on the 10th row! I am going to make a FAQ video for the bucket hat soon so come back for that in a week or so because I have some other pointers that are easier to show/point out via video then text ☺️
@@mgriffin66 sometimes you naturally flip the hat when you’re working on it- so when you get to the part where you’re supposed to do the front loop only, if it’s looking the same as where you did the back look only, then switch and do back loop only again, does that make sense?
I’m a beginner so I’m trying to under how the increase works, for the brim when you say increase every 5 stitch do you increase by one stitch? So every 5 stitch add 2 stitches in one ?
I’ve been trying for 30 minutes now and I dont know what I’m doing wrong 😭 I bought your pattern for this but I keep getting 4-5 loops on my stick (so beginner here)

I’m confused, for round three you say to put two double crochets into the first edge, then one double crochet into the next, your pattern says to put one double crochet into the first stitch, two double crochets in the second stitch? Does it matter? It seems confusing.
Very cute personality... nice tutorial, but if you don't mind a little suggestion? Always include the hook size, and always say double crochet if it's not a single crochet.... instead of saying single single. Just a suggestion for clarification purposes. 😊
Miranda hi,..i have watched your crochet videos... i have a question miranda.. if i want to make a rectangle granny stitch square stitch table cloth 48 by 24 inches with 5 no crochet hook and a 4 waisted yarn, how many inches approx do you think i might need to make my foundation row of stitches, can u pls tell me
I bought the pattern, easy to follow except you don't mention how many stitches we should have at the end of each row. I am assuming... row 1 - 10s row 2 - 20 row 3 - 30... and so on
I found this incredibly frustrating to follow and I'm a seasoned crocheter😞 I got to the end of the video to find out that when doing the brim you meant that it should be in the front loop to create the ridge inside of the hat instead of what you said in the video that it should be in the back loop. i think she uses at 6.5mm or 7.0mm
Or a size larger when using 2 strands.
Thank you for sharing. Awesome pattern just made my granddaughter one with multicoloured yarn!! Its beautiful!

@@crafty_mama_mirwhat hook size did you use?
Hi, really clever and cute with 2 strands of yarn, but you didn't mention what size hook you use. I'm guessing it's an "L".
The K works best. I first started with the L hook, and it seemed too big.
I have this same hook its a 7
She charges $10.00 to get the pattern that has the size hook with it. I find that very strange to show how to make, but charge for patterned.
@@alexisbryant3084thank you
I never saw anyone crochet that way. You yarn under, not over. That’s not regularly done.
I think she might have learnt how to knit first before crocheting like me maybe 🤷♀️
Yarning under creates a tighter finished stitch. I always yarn under because I prefer the way it looks to a yarn over
Yarn under is mostly used for amigurumi projects because it creates a tighter and neater stitch
Everybody is different
It actually looks like she’s yarning over but using the same hand she’s holding the hook with so it looks different
Such an easy magic n love your pattern I am only using one skin so should I double
Thank you so much!!!
Is it possible to use cotton yarn to make bucket hats especially for the spring and summer? If yes should the yarn be doubled?
• Magic circle/first loop
Row 1
• 10 double crotchet
-end each row with a slip stitch.
-2 chain stitch after each row.
Row 2
• 2 double crotchet in each stitch from previous row
Row 3
• 2 Dbl Cr / 1 Dbl Cr (alternating)
Row4
• 1 Dbl Cr / 1 Dbl Cr / 2 Dbl Cr (repeating)
Row 5 (for larger hats)
• 1 Dbl Cr / 1 Dbl Cr / 1 Dbl Cr / 2 Dbl Cr (repeating)
Row 6
• BACK loop only. 1 Dbl crotchet per stitch all
Rows 7-11
• add 4 to 5 rows of double crotchet 1 dbl Cr per stitch all
Row 12
• Reverse back loop only increasing every 5 stitches (1DBLCr/1DC/1DC/1DC/2DC)
Row 13
• 1 DC per stitch
Row 14
• DC increasing every 6 stitches
Row 15 (optional)
• Single Crotchet in every stitch
