The late Dan McCafferty had some pretty nasty health issues that took him off the road in 2013, but as a Scot, he would have been a good fit for AC/DC a few years later when they needed someone to step in for Brian Johnson. I know they're not going to touch "It's a Long Way to the Top", but they had *the* guy here if they decided to rethink that. Aside: Besides "Loch Lomond" -- was that a little poke at Peter Frampton with "Are you alright?" -- the brief lick of "My Sharona" was a treat!
@@QuarrellaDeVil I’m with you he fits Brian Johnson’s vocal style and could have sang all of his AC/DC songs and even his other band Geordie’s sings. But that bon Scott could play them bag pipes and his vocals were a bit raspier
If I had known in the 70s and 80s just how low the quality of bands would sink I would have went to many more concerts back then. It just seemed that great music would never end.
Being able to yell out loud SOB in singalong was such a thrills back then with this song !! ... With Hair of the dog surely allowing us here to repeat it so many times ! What a satisfaction and pleasure it was. Oh my ! Cannot forget it. Now imagine what it was during their live performances... Telling you, we were literately lifting concert halls roof with our chorus of the main lines of that song. Making us here, at least for the time of a song, all very badass... 🤘 🎸 🔥 🦚
When I was about 13~14 my first LOVE (bill hayes) introduced me 2 NAZARETH.Our song was LOVE HURTS so everytime I hear NAZARETH i think of him.I still LOVE NAZARETH & I still LOVE him!!!!! Those were the days!!!! NAZARETH ROCK ON!!!!!!
Os camaradas escoceses são bons demais. guitarra e vocal nota 10. dancei muitas baladas desses caras entre 76 a 79.....Só dava Boston, Journey, e nazareth. Bom demais esses flashback.
This was the soundtrack to many insane, drug pumped nights! Not proud of that but fond memories of times im just glad I survived! RIP man! Thanks for the emotions and all the times you guys helped PUMP UP a lockeroom full of mediocre hockey players, turned SOBin BADASSES after rocking to this!! 😇✌️🤍🤘🔥
Dan... we talked backstage at the Sandstone Amphitheater back in '98... you guys performed just after April Wine... then BOC... my wife and I went ahead and named our Daughter 'Anna Maria' instead of Liam Dan... yep... We had a girl.
The "One Hit Wonder" of Nazareth formed in 1968 , has had 22 albums, This Album "Hair of the dog" (1975) was they're 6th album respectfully, Yup they're a "One hit Wonder" nevermind the other five #1's .
You're telling me bro. I roadied with Nazareth in the 80s & Dan had a little tradition of imitating each roadie to the butt rock life. He would simply invite you to his trailer for 'tea & biscuits'. So you're there thinking 'gee what a nice guy' until you get to his bus & realise it is 'tea & air biscuits'. Yup, he sits there with a dead poker face as he hands you a cup of tea & lets a succession of the unholiest silent but violent's out! I vommed up a good can or two of C45 on the bus floor!
This dude could sing every AC/DC song with ease.

Nazareth, Hair of the Dog album and AC/DC Back in Black album almost sound like they were recorded by the same band in the same studio 👍

Axl Rose wouldn't have a career without Dan.
This dude is THE ONE who inspired AC/DC in the early 70's

That is a best live version if Hair of the Dog!
Got to see them in concert around 1974 before this LP came out. They were the opening act and they blew away Blue Ouster Cult.
Went with my wife to see them in Wichita KS open for April Wine then Blue Oyster Cult ... and what a concert that was!
unique voice.....one of a kind.
Caught them once "back in the day". He had a classic hard rock voice for that era.

They played my high school late 70s . we figured they were pretty damn good. Unreal looking back!
A lot of bands back in the 60s and 70s would play high school auditoriums. What a time to see a band. You would never find that now.
What a voice!!
they will rock for ever!!!
They should be on Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
I love Dan maccaferty..kkk lindo
If hair of the dog is not in your collection...you don't rock
Went to see Billy Squier in late 1980s and Nazareth opened up for him and they do put on a pretty good show.

You need to smoke cigs to get a raspy voice like that.
Oh YEAH !!!
Who's playing the cowbell?? The drummer is playing the hi-hat with his right hand & snare and toms with his left hand.
