Nazareth - Miss Misery (Austrian TV, 1975)

- 1975 the hard rock band Nazareth with singer Dan McCafferty performed live in the Austrian music show Spotlight. It became a legendary concert.
Spotlight was a music show for the youth, which was aired between 1968 and 1978 by the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF). It was the counterpart to the shows "Beat Club" or "Musikladen" in Germany.
What a band, and that voice was incredible. I miss this era of music.
The 70's
That voice always sounded so painful to do. Like he would need a few Throat Lozenges after one song.
I thought it would last forever, and just evolve.....WRONG...
R.I.P. Dan McCafferty, his voice was amazing!
And guitarist Manny Charlton in July!
oh man das tut weh, er war mein Vorbild. Ok wir werden alle mal sterben und wen es plötzlich kommt ist man geschockt.
Stood alone at the top!!
@@funwithfood7451 I think it's as clear as day where Axl Rose borrowed his vocal style from lol..
And Axel Rose TRIED to rip it off..
These are the ones who started it all…Nazareth, Steppenwolf, Black Sabbath, Blue Cheer, Iron Butterfly…pioneers of Heavy Metal.
Vanilla Fudge inspired Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, John Bonham, etc. as far as metal roots go, we should probably mention King Crimson as well.
You are exactly right?
10000% my brother!! Love to see others recognizing this highly underrated band (Now-a-days anyways) for what they were, Hard hitting proto metal Rock N Roll!
One of the very few vocalists that can make Brian Johnson and Axl Rose sound tame. RIP to one of the most unique voices in music. I'll keep on listening til I die and beyond.
10-4
don't forget Manney
@@samthesham6854 who is Manney?

Never saw the fascination with Axl, at all. But yes Dan was awesome.
One of the most underrated bands in history. That riff is OFF THE CHARTS!!!
🤣😂🤣 RIDICULOUS!
UNDERRATED by who???
😂🤣😂🤣
@@kevinkelly1529 Okay. Well, just like me you're entitled to YOUR opinion!!
Underrated, come on, they are extremely well-known and respected
@@sergeykras4599 Okay, let me ask you, what country do you live in??
Agree with you. You are correct. Underrated band.
Dan mcafferty deserves so much more praise and recognition than he gets, one of the greatest vocalists in rock!
Your absolutely right and I Agree 👍
I think the band in general seem largely overlooked. But those vocals. 😁
Yes he truly does!
Has one of a kind sound ,I started hearing this band when I was 16 and LOVEHURTS,ON THE WSRD(WIZARD)
Absolutely...he was a legend in my opinion..
This is one of the best albums ever made. "Hair of the Dog". Masterpiece.
I still have mine...love it. Nothing around today can touch it.
R.I.P. Dan McCafferty (1946-2022)
One of the biggest voices of rock 😢💔
one of the best vocals in rock history
Rachel Fages agree
Worst lip synch however
I agree
I love his raspy voice it so original!! Awesome!!
Dan and Dio - two my best singers forever!
Dan McCafferty has one of the most unique voices in hard rock. Godspeed Dan. Thank you for your talent.
Thank you dear
Lord for Nazareth, their
songs bring tears sometimes. But
it releases a lot
of pain 💔 ❤
Not unique if you’ve ever heard post Bon Scott AC/DC. He sound s exactly like what Brian became. Brian didn’t sound like he did after getting the AC/DC gig. His previous work was nothing like what he did after copping this guys sound.
I'm not bragging, but I've seen over 500 of the best bands in the past 61 years. NAZARETH is still in the top five for live performance chops.😎👌
Man that is killer I thought I was kicking ass with 200 concerts under my belt.
So jealous, I've seen like 8
I was just watching this video and I said to myself, WOW, seeing these guys must have been something else. This is some real fucken rock n roll. So heavy and intense. Love it. I’ve seen quite a few shows myself, but this would have been cool.
I've seen 1200 bands
@@ronditchen6664 that ain't nothing I've been to 2400 shows, 1200 bands and I am too young to have seen Nazareth LOL Ha Ha Ha
Harsh vocals, rude guitars, thunderous rhythm section....this is pure pure rock, the 70's rock, the genuine, the unique.
And Nazareth was one of the best in the pool

At 70's they have great records.
@@gleisonferres and at 80's? I love 2XS
@J Dial of course, McCafferty sounds better in the stage, but the playback things is normal in the world of television
@J Dial I am 25 years old......so I can't see them at live sadly.....
They are my favorite hard rock band and I have their entire discography (damn!, why I couldn't born before?!?!?!?!, I have lost the opportunity to see many great bands!, like Judas Priest or Jethro Tull...)
The Best! I remember driving around in my car, my 8 track tape deck under my front seat and Nazareth playing out of my 6x9's mounted in the back. The 70's! Soon after that cassettes came out
I had to do a double take on the name.. While reading your comment, I thought I was reading a comment I wrote years ago.
Nazareth caught lightning in a bottle with this LP. The entire album kicks ass!!!
Fuckin' A !!
Actually, it could use some more cowbell
1st heard this song at age 10 , in my friends garage. Listening to Nazareth ,The Who , The Stones , Zeppelin , Deep Purple... Yes , I was corrupted at a young age and 40 years later , still listening , still jamming , all the way up to 11.😂😂
More cowbell !
To say they were ahead of their time is an unstatement.
R.I.P Dan McCafferty. He had really unique and powerful voice.
Hair of the dog was one of the best albums to come out in 1975
one of the best albums ever
I guess if it werent for physical graffiti Id say what was as good?
I consider it a sleeper. One of the top ten of early hard rock but didnt get the attention it should have.
amen to that!
Damn straight
Aerosmith toys in the attic came out in 75 as well.
Nazareth was one of the first bands that led me to heavy metal today.
Same here Bruh.
Okay
Absolutely✨

One of my first albums was Malice in Wonderland. I was maybe 12
Dan passed away yesterday. All of the 70’s badasses are leaving us. Hair of the Dog is is up there with the best albums of the mid 70’s. Not a bad song on the album. RIP brother Dan
I got Hair of the Dog up there with the best albums of all time, not just the 70's! I got one spot ahead of Aerosmith Get Your Wings. But when I listen to one, I have to listen to both. lol

Absolutely love it!!! I grew up on the Hair of the Dog album. I remember stealing pot and this album from my buddies older brother so we could jam out !! It was the first album I ever bought with my own money I saved up. Much love and respect to Nazareth for their no bullshit rock and roll and filthy rad guitar riffs!! Every time I hear this it takes me back ❤
Absolutely love this band, his voice is unlike any other
Brian Johnson meets Axl Rose.
The first time I played Hair of the dog album, I was blown away. I am 61 and love rocking with Nazareth.
Whenever feeling old, out of the loop, questioning if I really even mattered- I hit these jams and it takes me back. It reignites my very soul. Makes me feel a part of everything once again.

How fucking badass can a riff sound? How brilliantly can.a vocalist belt out? Miss Misery is your answer!
To the dislkers, go back to your One Direction and Lady Gaga, a band this good doesn't need your time.
They have no taste or soul. Rock on my brother
They can't play instruments nowdays

Joey P true R.IP. Darrell sweet
Joey P - Agree 100%. This album is one of the best ever in the history of music!!! Hair Of The Dog has stood the test of time.
Fuck people stop calling everything overrated/underrated. Not everything is meant to be a soul-less commercial hit, multi platinum record, and not all performers/musicians are meant to rise to superstardom, become celebrity douchebags and fart dollars: doesn´t mean they "failed" or that they are worthless. That not many people listen to this classic hard rock just make it unknown to those said people, not "underrated". Please!
J.C Rodríguez RELAX!!! Just a figure of speech... the album didn’t get the recognition it deserved... you get into a band to make money and to make your fans happy, which means the music industry recognizes the talent and gives it airplay which results in ticket sales and album sales... an album this great did not get the recognition it deserved. I’m sure the boys in Nazareth would’ve enjoyed a #1 album and sold out arenas for years to come.... no need to get so angry. We both like the same band and music. Turn it up and enjoy
Joey P this album got huge support, but only for hair of the dog and love hurts. But they still sold out shows for years. I saw 5 of them!
R.I.P. Wieder eine Legende die von dieser Welt geht.Rock im Himmel weiter bis wir uns alle wider sehen.😢😢😢😢😢😢
NAZARETH was my mother's favorite band, especially Hair of the dog, God rest her soul ,she passed in 1994 at 70, still had the album in her house
Saw them live 3 times. Once in a big civic center in 1982. Backed up Billy Squire. (Also out sold Billy in tshirts) And twice, in 2 diffrent bars 1986 and 1990. The bar venues were the most fun. One of the few bands that sounded almost identicial live as their studio albums. Had every album and cassette. I always said they sounded better than ACDC, much to the chagrin of my best bud who is now my brother inlaw of 40 years. The debate continues.

As a 10-year-old kid, this (Hair of the Dog) was the first album I ever bought (followed soon after by Aerosmith's first). This song brings back a lot of 70s memories and resides deep in my DNA and subconscious.
