Hey Becky. I am a teacher and I know every school district in America is desperate for bus drivers. My district will pay for training and pays between $20-$30 an hour and a signing bonus. School districts usually provide excellent healthcare insurance. You may even be able to get into a state pension retirement system. You can pick up extra shifts driving after school sports or field trips during the school day. I am confident the kids would think you are the coolest bus driver!
Great suggestion. There is always a need for bus drivers for Special Ed kids. Becky would be great with kids who are normally seen as nothing or worthy as others.

The only real mistake here was assuming anyone was going to do their job correctly, and not calling preemptively. Having to suddenly stop taking sertraline is ROUGH. I had terrible brain zapping and suicidal thoughts when my prescription ran out. The withdrawl makes your anxiety 10x worse. After a few months I was back to 'normal' anxiety levels (for me). Stay strong. Its hard to believe but things will get easier! 💖💖💖
It sure is. I was on antidepressants for many years, and there were times when I ran out or skipped days because I was broke. I'm a recovering addict and would honestly rather go off heroin cold turkey again than antidepressants. The brain zaps are just the worst. I quit taking them altogether because I never want to feel that feeling again. And they weren't helping anyway.

I'm in Wales and forever greatful that I was born here. My most recent baby was born at 28 weeks weighing 1lb 5oz and spent 4 months in nicu and over a year on home oxygen and I didn't have a single bill. How America can call itself one of the most developed countries in the world yet have such appalling health care access is beyond me

Becky, I don't know if you read the comments, but if you do I want you to heed my words. I've been through emotional abuse as well. It takes YEARS to recover from. Do not expect to get back to your old self immediately. Your recovery is going to take time. The longer you were in that situation the longer the healing process will take. Have patience with yourself. You're busy right now, and that might actually be helfpul for you, because it helps you to more slowly process your emotions. But I don't want you thinking you're failing at getting better just because you're still not doing well. You've actually come a very long way. You got out. Not everyone has the strength to do that. I'm proud of you. I believe in you. The human spirit is more resilient than you know. You just have to give it time to recover. The best thing to do is to focus on the next thing on your to-do list to get you through. Eventually you'll be able to broaden your focus, but in times of crisis your focus does have to narrow. And that is okay. It's okay to take life one breath at a time when you have to. Take care of yourself in whatever way you can. You're a genuinely good soul, and this world is a brighter place with you in it.

You described exactly how I feel with my depression. You feel like your just existing and barely getting by and it’s a lonely place. I feel your struggle. As far as dating. I’m socially awkward and I just don’t connect with people very well. I do a job that’s van driver delivering shopping so I’m great with short bursts of convo. But struggle to hold long convos. I actually think I was so isolated in my relationship in past that I lost myself. I too also feel like I don’t have anything to give anyone. I’m single mother 4 kids. Keep pushing forward. I’d say nights are hardest I struggle to sleep an feel so lonely. But then same time I feel like I no isolate myself it’s a tough cycle 😢

Hey Becky. Last year I was in the same position as you. I was working 10-15 hour shifts every day, for a single digit per hour, and I was barely scraping by with all my rent and bills. I don't think anybody gets how draining that shit really is, both physically and mentally. I had no time, money or energy for anything. Couldn't look after myself. Couldn't see my friends and family. Couldn't enjoy any of my hobbies or interests, or the outside world for that matter. I also left an abusive relationship in 2020 and its taken me a very long time to trust people and rebuild from it. All I can say is; I understand how you feel and I'm sorry. We are all rooting for you, we are all here for you and we are all listening.
With the inflation and scores of layoffs many people are going through it. Considering how you are living in poverty, your interaction with police is not surprising. The system punishes people in poverty. Just know it's NOT your fault or the universe punishing you. The only way to dig yourself out of poverty is a village. Yeah the world's gone crazy, and life can be a big ol bitch sometimes, but know that the world is a little bit better with you in it. I went years without health insurance while needing medications for my depression, anxiety, and OCD. There are programs that help people with prescription costs. Also there's a pharmacy chain called Neighborhood Pharmacy that has a discount program for people without insurance. Listen, you're an amazing person, everyone has witnessed that and you're in my prayers, regardless of whatever personal beliefs are, a little prayer can't hurt. I was depressed for 15 years of my life, I didn’t know life without depression, eating disorders, anxiety and one day Jesus Christ healed me. Since May it’s gone!! Hey Becky. I am a teacher and I know every school district in America is desperate for bus drivers. My district will pay for training and pays between $20-$30 an hour and a signing bonus. School districts usually provide excellent healthcare insurance. You may even be able to get into a state pension retirement system.
You can pick up extra shifts driving after school sports or field trips during the school day. I am confident the kids would think you are the coolest bus driver!

Having to suddenly stop taking sertraline is ROUGH. I had terrible brain zapping and suicidal thoughts when my prescription ran out. The withdrawl makes your anxiety 10x worse. After a few months I was back to 'normal' anxiety levels (for me). Stay strong. Its hard to believe but things will get easier! 💖💖💖
It sure is. I was on antidepressants for many years, and there were times when I ran out or skipped days because I was broke. I'm a recovering addict and would honestly rather go off heroin cold turkey again than antidepressants. The brain zaps are just the worst. I quit taking them altogether because I never want to feel that feeling again. And they weren't helping anyway.

Becky, I don't know if you read the comments, but if you do I want you to heed my words. I've been through emotional abuse as well. It takes YEARS to recover from. Do not expect to get back to your old self immediately. Your recovery is going to take time. The longer you were in that situation the longer the healing process will take. Have patience with yourself. You're busy right now, and that might actually be helfpul for you, because it helps you to more slowly process your emotions. But I don't want you thinking you're failing at getting better just because you're still not doing well. You've actually come a very long way. You got out. Not everyone has the strength to do that. I'm proud of you. I believe in you. The human spirit is more resilient than you know. You just have to give it time to recover.
The best thing to do is to focus on the next thing on your to-do list to get you through. Eventually you'll be able to broaden your focus, but in times of crisis your focus does have to narrow. And that is okay. It's okay to take life one breath at a time when you have to. Take care of yourself in whatever way you can. You're a genuinely good soul, and this world is a brighter place with you in it.

I thought I was ruined too, Becky. I know that feeling. I can remember laying on the floor of my living room, staring at the ceiling fan, listening to the world go by outside and dreading my ex coming home, and thinking i was less than human, less than nothing. I know its cliche, but it does get better. Just listening to you talk, knowing a portion of what you went through with your ex, you're such a strong person. You do have so much left to give. Those people don't take those things from us- they're still inside. You just need to let them come to the top. The old you, the you before your ex, may never be who you are again. But this new you - the one born from all this- will be better and brighter than you could ever imagine. You described exactly how I feel with my depression. You feel like your just existing and barely getting by and it’s a lonely place. I feel your struggle. As far as dating. I’m socially awkward and I just don’t connect with people very well. I do a job that’s van driver delivering shopping so I’m great with short bursts of convo. But struggle to hold long convos. I actually think I was so isolated in my relationship in past that I lost myself. I too also feel like I don’t have anything to give anyone. I’m single mother 4 kids. Keep pushing forward. I’d say nights are hardest I struggle to sleep an feel so lonely. But then same time I feel like I no isolate myself it’s a tough cycle 😢

Last year I was in the same position as you. I was working 10-15 hour shifts every day, for a single digit per hour, and I was barely scraping by with all my rent and bills. I don't think anybody gets how draining that shit really is, both physically and mentally. I had no time, money or energy for anything. Couldn't look after myself. Couldn't see my friends and family. Couldn't enjoy any of my hobbies or interests, or the outside world for that matter. I also left an abusive relationship in 2020 and its taken me a very long time to trust people and rebuild from it.
All I can say is; I understand how you feel and I'm sorry. We are all rooting for you, we are all here for you and we are all listening.

With the inflation and scores of layoffs many people are going through it. Considering how you are living in poverty, your interaction with police is not surprising. The system punishes people in poverty.
Just know it's NOT your fault or the universe punishing you. The only way to dig yourself out of poverty is a village. You need friends, family, organizations etc. You don't have to go it alone. Sending much love your way.

Fellow depression and anxiety sufferer here. You're not alone. Please don't ever give up. Yeah the world's gone crazy, and life can be a big ol bitch sometimes, but know that the world is a little bit better with you in it.
I went years without health insurance while needing medications for my depression, anxiety, and OCD. There are programs that help people with prescription costs. Also there's a pharmacy chain called Neighborhood Pharmacy that has a discount program for people without insurance. Listen, you're an amazing person, everyone has witnessed that and you're in my prayers, regardless of whatever personal beliefs are, a little prayer can't hurt. A lot of people you don't even know care about you and are rooting for you! Take care of yourself! Sending love and good vibes your way!!!!
