Thank You for sharing! I used to live just over the bridge in NJ. It's nice to see the different spots of long island city and woodside. I got lost many of times in Queens lol
Hey Ken. A nice day for a nice walk. Love Long Island City and Woodside . You pretty much have everything you need right in the neighborhood. Thanks for the tip on Rocco’s also. Cheers.
this video brought me back to memorize the neighborhood of Long Island. I had stayed in Dutch kills. hope I could comeback again to NY. thank you Buddy!! keep posting and inspire us..
Appreciated The Walking Video, 9:35 Honest Review About the Food Sample At Rocco’s 🍖! 37:27 Nice Elevated Roosevelt Avenue El On The IRT Flushing Line! The Only IRT System That Goes To Queens 👍!
This HMart store is NOT on Northern Boulevard but on 48th Street a short distance south of it. It's in the former Stop & Shop supermarket location. AND BJ's is where National Wholesale Liquidators was, which was Pergament 20 or so years ago.
Pergament all closed down I believe, about 20 or even 30 years ago. Those used to be all over the place in NY or LI and Queens. Also Rickels Home Centers used to be very popular in the 70s when I was a kid, at least on LI. All of those places suffered I think when Home Depot came around. I read later that Pergament started downsizing in the late 80s and closed its CT stores, then by 1998 restructured, then by 2001 Home Depot started killing them off.
I did enjoy it from the "Hidden gem" meaning the Italian sausage sandwich place to the closed for renovation Chinese market and everything in between. Thank you AK:-)
It is interesting the urban location the shops are close together so you can walk to them and shop but then there are malls in the suburbs outside the city with box stores around like these brands and the map is deceptive the next store you need to walk a mile and there might not be proper pedestrian pathways
If you go back out to Long Island again, check out Patchogue that’s another nice town. They have a toast restaurant like Port Jefferson has. Then you can walk down Ocean Avenue from town to the bay.
So the old Sport's Authority is becoming a High School? What a surprise, but atleast it's going to be used. I think the premesis was vacant for years. I remember the old facility still standing when i visited Ny back in 2020 before the pandemic.
I heard that italian sandwich joint in the Home Depot is great. I got pissed off when some of the LI Home Depots used to have some food vendors and they got rid of all of them here! Why? I may drive over there just for a cheesesteak!
I had no idea there was a tiny diner there the last time I was over in this area about five years ago now, I'd gone to Best Buy for various things. I would have gone in there if I'd spotted it! I must have whizzed right past it in the car.
I have a question I do UberEATS delivery I live in Long Island if I want to come to Queens NY do delivery and there sometime no parking if I have to pick up at a deli or store and drop it off I can put the four light for few minutes thank you
9:11 Woohoo for a free sample food review at Rocco's, and they're so nice! 😃 13:54 Cool building, and I like that it's been repurposed into a pizzeria. It was interesting to see the differences between the original H-Mart compared to the new location. Thank you for sharing this informative video and the new developments in Long Island City and Woodside, AK! 🤗
Went to the h Mart on 110th in Manhattan. It's small but had a nice collection and was very busy. I think this one you went to used to be a stop and shop.
I really liked this one, Action Kid! I love seeing the NYC area and I have never been to Long island City or Queens, so this was amazing to me to see! Thank you so much for these walks you do! They are truly like being there walking along with you! Thank so much!
Quite nice start to the walk , H -Mart grocery store 1:08 , couldn’t be any better weather than that at sunshine 🙂Nice looking neighborhood with the various nice stores , even diner along your way ,restaurants like at 8:19 ,that restaurants exterior and interior looked great , and the sample of the sausage must tasted good 😋😎Overal very enjoyable walk 🙂Thank you for sharing A K 🙂👍!!!
I attended St. Sebastian's School, and left in late March of 6th Grade, when my family moved to Farmingdale. The Sisters of Charity dominated the school, at that time. I was in the 1st First Communion Class held in the new church on 58th Street, on May 5th, 1956. I recently read that no sisters teach in the school anymore; they are all lay teachers.
I didn't find the side streets with the auto body shops and side streets with apartments to be particularly interesting. Northern Blvd, Woodside, Roosevelt Queens Blvd are part of Long Island City and Woodside and are more interesting.
I remember going to the original hmart in 1988 back then the 7 train and the streets were wild high school kids riding on top of graffiti full of 7 trains and street muggings and gun shots heard on Woodside ave during the daylight lol I somewhat moss those days
You make the absolute BEST walking videos on UA-cam. My husband and I sometimes play one of your videos on the TV and get totally hooked on it and before you know it over an hour has gone by! Your narration and personal perspective during your journeys is awesome. You're so descriptive and you seem like you're a genuinely nice person. I especially love your night videos around NY. I'm in California but I've always had a huge fascination with the hustle and bustle of NYC. Your videos are as close to being there as I possibly can. Keep up the great videos!!!!!
I never knew that New York had all of these big box stores, plazas and strip malls in Queens and Brooklyn, but, New York's got them (and they look like places in Toronto as well.)
Hey Actionkid how are you, great I hope, I have been watching your Volg for some time now and all I see you do besides tour the place, you only seek out one nation of people there in New York and that the Chinese nationality, I have never seen you check out other Nation of people you never check out the blacks the Indians etc.. only Chinese people you surround your volging around, and I am from 🇯🇲
thank you for making me a part of this beautiful city again!
Thank you for sharing video nice great walk place and have a wonderful weekend 😎❤️🗽❤️👍
A good information and clear footage.
Glad it helped
Thank You for sharing! I used to live just over the bridge in NJ. It's nice to see the different spots of long island city and woodside. I got lost many of times in Queens lol
Glad you enjoyed it! Queens can get a bit confusing if you don’t know where you are
Hey Ken. A nice day for a nice walk. Love Long Island City and Woodside . You pretty much have everything you need right in the neighborhood. Thanks for the tip on Rocco’s also. Cheers.

love that new hmart! great prices and variety.
Me too!! They had great prices on many items!
It's been a while I was in Long Island virtually !!! Kind of decent city !!!
You made it to your destination, nice walking weather the sun shining.
I did enjoy it from the "Hidden gem" meaning the Italian sausage sandwich place to the closed for renovation Chinese market and everything in between. Thank you AK:-)
Thanks Kenneth. I received a Long Island railroad area and stores. Cant wait til you do a Live N.Y. ! Or Fla. !🙂
Sounds great!
I hope I get a notification of your next walk!?? ❤
I grew up in Woodside 58th st.
Nice video. Our HMart in the Boston area are very nice. 👍🏽
Very nice!
It is interesting the urban location the shops are close together so you can walk to them and shop but then there are malls in the suburbs outside the city with box stores around like these brands and the map is deceptive the next store you need to walk a mile and there might not be proper pedestrian pathways
There's a new H-Mart store opening at the American Dream Mall on the 17th, you should check it out!
If you go back out to Long Island again, check out Patchogue that’s another nice town. They have a toast restaurant like Port Jefferson has. Then you can walk down Ocean Avenue from town to the bay.
Pretty cool! Thanks for the info
@@ActionKid Patchogue has some good food and restaurants, cafes, diners, etc., even some good pizza, and also a real record store.
So the old Sport's Authority is becoming a High School? What a surprise, but atleast it's going to be used. I think the premesis was vacant for years. I remember the old facility still standing when i visited Ny back in 2020 before the pandemic.
They need to put parking or protectors on the side of all the bike lanes
So what use to be the Stop&Shop was replaced with HMart doesn't require membership. Yes That's a hidden gem the sausage sandwich is delicious.
The subway grate that no-one can sleep on makes a cameo.
