@@bennshouts Lover to Lover deserves a star. It was originally meant for Adele's 21 album, but it went to Florence. Remain Nameless is my favorite song from this album. Sounds so different from everything else, but it is haunting like Seven Devils.

Make it a priority to see her live if you ever get the chance! I saw her at an outdoor venue under a full moon and it started raining during my favorite song “cosmic love” and I cried and danced and sang my heart out. Top concert experience.
'Breaking Down' is about her depression. Because it comes and go without a warning, it's about the sensation of feeling it coming back, coming through the edge of the room, and realizing she's about to break down again, like, the depression it's coming back to her life.
You have no idea how happy it makes me to see people react to Florence + Machines. So happy you love her, welcome to the fandom (and the pain of an album every 4 years but hey one more year to go until the next one 😆)
Honestly, if you get to see Florence+The Machine live I would whole heartedly encourage it. All this sounds even better live and the energy that comes from their performances is euphoric.
Listening to Florence really is an otherworldly experience. Glad you loved it as much as I do. You have to do How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful. Ceremonials is amazing but HBHBHB is her masterpiece. It also has a short movie (48 min) with most of the songs in it which is just incredible.

As always, love your reaction…. your ability to soak in every ounce, and have such gratitude regarding said artistry is lovely to witness.
This album was like witchcraft or something when I was struggling so much with panic and anxiety from religious trauma. I was late to discover it, my roommate at the time told me to listen. It became a spiritual experience in helping me feel like I was killing a part of me, like drowning it or something. There was a lot of water metaphors lol. Idk I kind of felt like it possessed me and *did* make me leave my body and transcend above myself. It's so sad, mournful, and bleak but at the same time angry and hopeful? There's a whole storyline in the way it flows through my head. I feel like I could write a damn book about this album lmao
I love this comment so much and you! I’m sorry you went through those things AND i’m so happy this album was there to help you through it and release it from your body! ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Florence's music has that kind of affect on you whenever you listen to her music. Be it happy, sad, euphoric.. leave it to Florence to leave you weeping on the floor because her music and voice is just majestic. Can't wait for you to react to How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful! P.S I think the reason why you've heard Spectrum before is because it was quite big in 2013 - 2014 in the clubs. It was the Calvin Harris remix
@@bennshouts but to be honest all her works are marvelous. Not a bad one at all. It's just pure my subjective choice. Lungs is experimental, youthful; Ceremonials is like a grand entrance to heaven, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful is like the odissey to get to heaven and High as Hope is falling from heaven, back to earth and live with hope.
@@bettedavisweloveyou270 no, of course not. It's her purest real, raw and vulnerable album among all from hers, also her only album that was made being sober and drugs-free.
This is the best reaction ever to her album, I fucking feel you! Florence is a spiritual/religious experience, gospel like, right? 💖 Love and light from Argentina!
Oh god I'm so happy to see new people reacting to Florence's music, especially this piece of art! Now you have to listen "How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful", it's gonna blow your mind! ❤️🔥
Only if for a night is about her gramma who committed suicide when Florence was 11 and her gramma visited her in a dream to give advices for her career as a singer. What the water gave is about Virginia Woolf who also committed suicide and she drowned in a lake with pockets full of stones and the title of this song comes from a frida Kahlo painting
Also, Only If for a Night is almost a tribute to her Grandmother who committed suicide at some point in Florence's life. This entire album to me is like digging yourself out a grave after some intense metaphorical spiritual death
This album truly was the biggest one in sound, Lungs was the first and was extremely chaotic and raw, How Big How Blue How Beautiful is a more LA rock kinda story based on Florence's life but told in Dante's Inferno metaphors about the rings of hell and there was a short film for the album by Vincent Haycock called The Odyssey, High as Hope is super folky and acoustic and extremely personal too.
Florence is one of my most favourite artists, I even got lyrics from No Light No Light tattooed on me. Definitely recommend listening to her other albums !
'Ceremonials' is such a good album. When it came out, Paul Epworth was the go-to because he had just worked on Adele's '21' and that album was massive, yet what he and Florence put together was so different and majestic. So much talent involved with this project
I will add that Florence deluxe tracks are always worth a check, maybe not to react as I know you don't normally but some of my favourite Florence tracks are bonus ones.
yep this was a moment, honestly one of the best albums ever made, you should listen to the deluxe tracks, not even for a video, just cause they're worth it
When you react to How Big How Blue How Beautiful make sure to listen to The deluxe version, The three extra songs (hiding, make up your mind and Which Witch) can make you change your perspective on the whole album
You should watch her performance of “Sky Full Of Song” for Siriusxm (I think?) where she’s performing of a rooftop and a storm starts while she’s singing. I’m not saying she’s a storm goddess but… Also, All This and Heaven Too is, in my opinion, one of Florence’s best songs.
This album unlocked something in me when I first heard it. I actually have difficulty listening to some of the songs now because they make me so sad loool
Literally the exact same reason I heard seven devils 😂😂😂 still my top song on the album. Loved her music from the first album and revenge made me listen to the second 🙌🙌😂😂
I have been listening to florence + the machine for seven years and I still don't really know what these songs are entirely about, there's just so many layers. And ceremonials still gets me every time.
Please do Lungs. It's masterful. Also, i would listen to Over The Love which she sang for The Great Gatsby movie. It's tear-inducing. I would even go as far as saying it's better than Young And Beautiful by LDR.

So she struggles to give him an explanation for why she did what she did and she sees that there is no light in his eyes when he looks at her. In the bridge she also says "It's so easy to say it to a crowd but it's so hard, my love, to say it to you out loud"

The story of how was found by her hearing a Record label manager lady or someone like that was in a club and followed her to the bathroom drunk as hell and wouldn’t let her out the stall till she listened to her sing and the lady got her signed or hooked up with the band the next day…. Donno if it’s true but I wouldn’t be surprised.
What the water gave me is a amazing song, by far fave track by them, its about the suicide of virginia wolf...pockets full of stops relates to self drowning.
