Also: There is a market for single shoes! Amputees get a deal when they don’t have to buy pairs - check solds - I probably would have kept the North Face shoe 👟:) Thanks for the great content!
How many amputee do you see everyday?
@@bluedeep1707 There is definitely a small market - I’ve sold three single shoes in the past 8-9 months.
damn that is actually smart because my mom is an amputee she lost all her toes due to diabetes on her right foot, and she always says she misses buying shoes
Wow I never would’ve thought of that - I found a Miami Nights colorway AF1 Nike, size 11.5 Mens in pretty much perfect shape, the other shoe was missing - and no one else at the bins had it for trade/flip a coin for it
Thanks so much for this! i’ve tried to make my store more accessible so this is really helpful
Can't wear gloves when sorting clothes, got to be able to feel them.
It used to be a whole lot more crazy back in the old days. Like 25 years ago or so where I live. They didn't make you wait until until the last rolling bin was out and they take their hands off the last one. They didn't even have those big blue rolling bins back then. They had permanent ones that always stayed there, and they rolled out those big huge cardboard boxes that fit on a pallet, climbed in, and tossed the stuff into the bins. You could just sit there and grab it as it came out For several years it was that way. And only 39 cents a pound when I first started going. Really good stuff too not already picked for retail goodwills. It was the wild west gold rush days of the bins and I was one of the first to start using a smart phone (windows pocket PC). Those were the days.
I am an old time bins buyer, too. I remember the small Goodwill bins in Seattle Dearborn with the cardboard boxes. I used to get great contemporary women's stuff because no one else was looking for it. they all wanted vintage tees.
I just start watching your videos, the positive energy you have, and all the information you provide, thank you!!!
Really enjoying your videos. My husband and I started reselling in November. Your content has been very helpful.
Can't wait for our bins trip in a couple of weeks, it's 2 hours away. Mixed in with kid-free overnight with wife out of town so I can check them out the day before and the next morning. I'd probably not wear gloves just because so much of when I find stuff is by feel. If I was checking out clothes it save me a lot of time looking at each tag.
Great sale on the Sonic plush! I can’t believe you found that Eddie Bauer coat at the bins & in that great condition! I have that coat & it keeps you so warm!
There had to be a hole, or a stain, or a missing hood, or something, right? Nope -all in tact!
Nice find on the Sonic! Thanks for sharing!
First time I have watched you. I enjoyed the content and think you are doing a good job. I like when videos are held to under 20 minutes long - so I appreciated that also. I will watch again. Thank you.
Thank you too Paula!
Just starting to get into reselling myself and also a girl dad. 4 in fact, so far it's going awesome. Loved your video and now I've got to watch them all;) Congrats on all the success!!
It ain’t as easy as everyone things two years in ! All best find a niche is the best advice I can give you ! I still need to stick with maybe two or three good luck
🤩Hello from Utah. Thank you for another entertaining - informative video. As usual, you showed your shopping without meandering, and your items without lengthy chat. I really like how you can pack so much useful information into your videos in a short amount of time. (not like this unnecessarily long comment lol).🤩
....and I still feel like I ramble. Thank you for the kind words!
Agreed. And pleasant voice, too!
I heard about your channel on another popular reseller’s video. I’ve tried several reseller’s channels and you are the best by far. Very good tips on what to look for that I haven’t heard before. I am lucky, our bins have half price days several days a week. I think they use it to clear out the “junk” so they can restock. But there is a lot that is left behind that other resellers don’t know about.
Awesome! Savvy resellers will always stay a few steps ahead of any thrift store operations changes and the bins are just loaded with gems most people never catch on to!
Nice finds. Good tip on finding comps with Nike tag on shirts
Great info as always! Thank you for the Nike tee tip. I learn something new everyday!
You bet - thanks Virginia!
Your bins look so chill, nothing like that here in Texas.
Lots of very friendly, considerate people here although there are definitely those who come through like a battering ram
I got into an ordeal with a man at the Las Vegas Bins he kept pushing people out of his way, he made the mistake of pushing me, and me being retired LE I wasn’t having it and pushed him back and I told him if he touched me again If make him wish to hell he hadn’t 😡 this guy was notorious for this behavior but no one said anything to him, so I complained to the Sanger and he was kicked out!
I support this 100%. You literally learn about personal space and the 'bubble' in what kindergarten? Some people are too far gone.
I know the kids in my family are super excited about the new Sonic movie coming out, so I think anything Sonic is going to be hot right now. What a great find!
I am definitely subscribing to your Chanel. You gave out so many tips in just this one video. I am 3 months in to my UA-cam and reselling full time and I am appreciate your video.
Thank you - you're gonna do great!!
You are awesome in person and on videos. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with others. You have a great heart. Can’t wait to see future videos.
Bin wars is what it is. Anytime they pull em people fight for carhartt and liquid blue
Great Video once again!! You shopped wisely and should bring home a good return on those items!! Well, you already brought the profits home, this Video is a year old!!! I would buy a pair of Ecco Sandals like you had in this Video!! Except 9-10!!!! That was a fair price for them!!! Love that sandal!!! Super Video!!! 🤗♥️👍
People like this is why I don't bother. These people will shove there way into you, grab things out of your hand, and reach over you, and they do it in groups. They fill their carts or bags with anything that remotely looks good and then sit in the corner for an hour, scanning and tossing the ones not worth it to them. So much crap at these bins anyway, that its rarely worth spending the better part of a day there to get anything if at all. I make it a point to keep throwing crap on top of where they dig.
Good video! Thanks for the advice man
Fun video! Headed to the bins this weekend! :)
Good luck!
Hello - just came across you in my UA-cam feed. Looks like you are in my neck of the woods (central Ohio). I work FT but started reselling to get set up for retirement from corporate in a few years. I have an antique booth and resell on eBay and FBMP. Keeps me busy! Can’t wait to do this FT.
Enjoyed your content!
Thank you Brenda!
At our bins they occasionally announce to not throw stuff back in the wrong bin. Not sure it helps.
Sorry I'm late to the game--I just subscribed and love your content and descriptions!
Talking about Goodwill raising prices, I was just at a store yesterday and books were 3/0.99 now 0.99 EACH for paperback and 1.99 for hardcover 😢
Another price raise insane!!! I will be there Tuesday hopefully it won’t be too busy it’s gonna be the warmest day lol
I don’t use gloves…I like to feel the fabric!
I love the bins! I thrifted the Goodwill Bins in San Antonio, Texas, yesterday!
Hope you found some quality items - and didn't get bulldozed by the shoe crew!
@@DadPlanet They are insane in Ft Worth, Austin and San Antonio, lol. Crews of 5 or 6. I have learned to be as assertive as they are, else you get run over lol.
Also when you don't have gloves it helps you feel expensive fabrics....they feel different you may accidently toss something aside but if you can feel and see you may not accidently miss things.
Yes - you know it when you touch it. There's such a big difference too between the mall brand junk and real high quality fabric
Great content!
Love your commentary through the video 😂
:)
I can comp and shop at the same time with gloves on. I use the little black disposable mechanic gloves. They're tear resistant, and work like a charm. You can't finger print scan, but you can use your phone with them on. I get the good heavy duty brand. A lot comes in one box. Give them a shot!
I'll look into this - I MUCH prefer wearing gloves to not wearing them and if I can use the phone with them on then it's a go for me - thank you for the tip!!
@@DadPlanet you're welcome! The brand I use specifically is Raven Nitrile Disposable Gloves. I'm sure any nitrile gloves would work though. Works great for Android and iPhone
Another great haul - keep after it.
Awesome vid
👍
The shoe bins are always the craziest!! In every location I've ever been to, they are just NUTS!!
I'll try to film it when it's super busy and I don't also need to be in there fighting for air over a pair of Sperrys
@@DadPlanet Good luck!!! 😬
Just found your channel…great stuff!!
Thank you!
What do you clean the bottom of the shoes with ? ❤
The 1st time I went to the bins I cut up my hand. Now I wouldn't think about not wearing gloves. I get what I think is valuable then I comp and put back the stuff that isn't.
Saw a nutribullet cup/blade around the 5:15 mark. Those with the blades sell decent
Everything at Goodwill Bins is brought in by Truck which uses fuel and the rising cost of fuel is going up and up
The WM truck at around 3:36 sells for about 30 + shipping. I’ve sold that exact model before in a matter of days!
Thank you for the tip! I feel like that's another one that would slip through a lot of cracks
Congrats on the Sonic sale!
I may have priced it too low - I had three people message me within the 15 minutes it went live so keep a very close eye out for that style
Excellent Video!!!!
Thank you!
The BINS lol Watched to the end!
Thank you!!
You are a one man M.B.A. Eager to see a golf club special.
Next time you’re at the bins grab some shoe laces and insoles - don’t have to keep the shoes in one piece. That’s what I do. I pick from those shoes that are complete garbage so as not to be a jerk of course.
This is an amazing tip - one I never thought to do but it makes perfect sense!
Graduations on the sonic X. Great find. First time seeing your videos definitely subscribe people great content.
Than you SFM!!
Might go try it ot
@5:02 I bet that blender cup would have sold.
Got my bins fix without having to go to the bins.
This looks like my bins!
Do you have purses for sale?
We’re $2.89 a pound here in CA
I found 450$ cash one time in a locked file box . then another time over a pound of. Sterling silver spoons i sold for700
You can sell ONE shoe on ebay for amputees. Once I sold a single Nike shoe on ebay for $30.
Only 1 bin location in Maine - $2.00 # on everything except glassware / books. Your right need to dig deep and hopefully find a matching shoe. 😆
Do you know if it's been $2 per pound for awhile or did they raise prices recently?
@@DadPlanet - in last few months
You have good lighting at your local bins. My local bins are in a 70 year old warehouse with extremely poor lighting.
That's hard when trying to identify stains and blemishes
In our area it is 2.50 a lb now at goodwill bins
Yikes
I’ve only done the bins once❗️even though I did get some cool stuff for a very cheap price It was stressful as heck as it was my first time
Congrats on going for the first time!! It gets easier and less stressful I can assure you. Stick with it!
I haven’t gone yet and I’m terrified!!!
My first time at the bins I cut my hand😫 I do wear gloves now but take them off when I need to feel an item
Ouch
I’ve been to bins from Ohio,Indiana,Colorado, ill. And Missouri. Never have had people be rude or mean. Never been in one that people pushed n shoved.
That rc car in the beginning and the polaroid hoodie shortly after are money. And one shoe can sell if its a good brand.
I feel like I bough a polaroid hoodie once here too, I'll have to check my basement which is a disaster right now
What city is this one?
Try the pegasus size 11 next time, same thing happened to me I'm a 12 and the 11 fit me
Our bins just jumped from $1.49 to $2 a pound! Ouch!
SLOWWWWWWWW DOWNNNNNNN Goodwill you've had ALOT to drink
Why are those bins so messy with everything mixed together? Shouldn't they be separated..toys/toys... clothes/clothes..etc. Someone explain it to me.
I dare to dream about your price per pound at GWBins. It’s close to $3.50 in Los Angeles 😓. So consider yourself lucky.
Oh and hi Dad Planet's MOM
How many do you list a day? Thanks for another great video!!
My average for January was 9.25 per day. That could very easily be doubled but finding quality inventory consistently at that level isn't as easy around here. I did 30 today alone so it's possible but my average should really be around 15 per day.
@@DadPlanet Thanks for responding. I appreciate all the help. I am really trying to push myself and start listing 5-10 a day. I am not very consistent. But your videos are encouraging and they make me want to work harder. Have a great day!!
11:00 shoelaces and insoles are cheap at any grocery store.
I really dislike aggressive resellers at my good wills or here online. I've started letting them know. Its unnecessary.
Sometimes people settle down when you kindly explain that. Then there are the others who havent eaten a meal in a month
I do...wear gloves and ours is required
How long do you stay there?
What time do you go?
Two hour intervals and mostly mornings
I wear gloves that have the touch pads already built in! Just an FYI! ❤️
Hmm maybe I will try that!
Yep
If it makes you feel better bins here are over 2.25 per pound, and if you hit 50 lbs then 1.75
If it's $2.25 in your area it's only a matter of time before that virus hits Columbus
Prices are going up at our charity shops here in the UK. I guess they're trying to make up some of the losses from covid lockdowns
If the Goodwills here posted net losses I'd be floored. There's no way they lost money but I've been wrong before.
You shopping in Columbus. I don’t live too far away either.
I do alot of shopping in Columbus
At my goodwill bins it's $1.37 lb and $.25 for books
What happens to the stuff people don’t buy at the bins?
I've never cared to ask. I'll ask some of the managers there the next time I go!
Thats the same bins i go to.....
You should pay more attention to hello kitty! Especially sanrio character as well that are around the 90s-2000s they go for GOOD money
You're right the brand sells well :)
My bins are 2.29 with lots of items cost more individually. They're mixing everything now crowding everyone together, clothes and shoe sellers. it's gotten so bad I'm cutting back after nearly 25 years of bins shopping. Someone was too cheap to buy a $350+ retail NWT jacket at the bins so I took it. My GW retail is $15+ for shit shoes. Pardone My French. I bought a whole 3 pairs at any Goodwill in 25 years!
Henry what area is this? This sounds lazy and mismanaged.
@@DadPlanet Oregon. They do separate some clothes, books and shoes but a lot is a mix now.
You can wash those in the washing machine..boom
I'll take the Who t- shirt. I collect band t-shirts.
Hello… I just found your Channel. I love the bins. Which state do you live in ?
Ohio
I'm in Ohio too...Dayton! Go Bucks!
They’re raising the prices due you resellers. That’s straight from an employee. THANKS ALOT
You're welcome
Is safer doing the round at the curbs during trash day....🤣🤣
lolol
How long does the BINs hold onto stuff that's
NOT selling,,and how will they dispose of it,,eventually
It varies per location/no idea
How are you allowed In the goodwill bins I wasn't even aloud when I worked there
Is the 1% A-day sell through Accurate for you?
Yes
I seen a dude make a shoe mountain. I was like what the hell.
There were about 5 of these guys on this day it was insane like bro just bring a plow with you next time
@@DadPlanet lol
Use a magic eraser on dirty things its amazing at removing stains and dirty soles of shoes.
Will do thank you!
The regular Goodwill stores are bad enough with all the tweakers/drug addicts, openly shoplifting.
I stay away from the bins, temper too short to deal with those fools.
U can sell a single shoe!
They make gloves you can use your phone with! I would wear a hazmat suit and respirator!!! Humans are nasty! 🤣🤣🤣
There's gonna come a day where I walk into that place in a full T-Rex get up.
@@DadPlanet 🤣🤣🤣 Do it!!! (recorded please!)🤣🤣🤣
My first bin visit was on a Saturday and I’ll never go on a weekend again the people in there make you want to slap the he** out of them they are so rude and half raised.
The weekend warriors can really pile it on!
I disagree alot of goodwill overprice their stuff ripped sneakers rips and the economy took a hit and don't forget shipping you will be holding alot of inventory for a while good luck 🤞
They are called speed shoppers and they are aggressive and rude!
