I had tried the same method with my car.
Few cons of this setup :-
1. The camera holder when the car is moving shakes , enough to give shaky videos.
2. The plastic holder to the car glass on prolonged use gives a high chances of phone slipping from the mount.
3. Any phone with camera app running heats up the phone and with normal warmer climate on Indian roads with mobile facing the sun through the glass heats up the phone further up.
4. Any midrange phone if used for this purpose will be useless as the camera app consumes more battery when compared to the car 12V slow charger charging the mobile battery.
5. The mobile camera has low angle of visibility, if one really needs it phone to act as dashcam, then one can add a fish eye lens which costs 200-300 bucks !!
This arrangement is a stop gap arrangement till you get yourself a proper dashcam !!

Biggest con is mobile phone is not made to take direct sunlight heat from windshield n dashcam are designed like that

Actually it's risky to use your phone as a dashcam. Mobiles have bigger batteries and sometimes due to the heat inside the car there can be a risk of explosion.
What about mobile heat up issues specifically in summers
Well an awesome suggestion and do appreciate your effort but there are a few major caveats:-
1) narrow field of view (which in case of video recoding is even less than clicking a photo)
2) heating of phone (despite the AC working at capacity, considering the climate here, the heat radiated through the windshield does make it quite hot especially while the camera is in use)
3) night vision
It would be great if you could suggest a (real) dash cam to buy, which company and what model
This thing is most imp. Gadget to have in ur respective vehicles
Bhai heads up display ke liye koi best app suggest karo it helps in watching the GPS and speedometer from your phone screen to the windscreen.

This is good software. but when i shirt the video from Mobile to Computer or any other device. the video comes WITHOUT all information like location, Time and speed etc. without this information the video is less important. Any suggestion?????
