    My grandmother made the BEST chow chow in the world! I have her recipe but I am so intimidated by the canning process...just know I will end up killing somebody...probably myself! lol

      Hi! Cinda! Yes....my mom and grandmother made some great chow chow too...I am wanting to can some of it too!! I was like you so intimidated by the canning process too....I remember back as a child my mom saying stay away that can blow up....so I was terrified of it...LOL!! But they have come such a long way with pressure canners now....it was scary the first time...but if I can do it ...you can do it...LOL!! I did a lot of research and watched a lot of videos on water bath canning and pressure canning before I even attempted it...LOL!! hugs, xoxo

    Hi Beth and Keith! This was a interesting process to watch, my Mom used to can so many things and also freeze a lot too. Making jelly was always my favorite. Have a great week, guys tfs. Hugs~Tina

      Hi! Tina! Yes my mom use to can everything and jams....my fave jam she use to make was mulberry but you can't hardly find mulberries around here anymore...I remember there was a patch of mulberry trees we went to every year to pick them and she would can the jelly! Hope you have a great week too! hugs, xoxo

    Hi Beth!!! Thankfully, I can join my bestie/neighbor at anytime to can since her father owns a local farm and she gets most stuff from him including beautiful herbs. She is a 4th generation canner and I trust in her knowledge. Your method is very interesting, unlike anyone I've canned with. Good luck on your new venture 😊.

      Hi! Janeen! That is awesome you can do that!! Wow...I would like to have 1/64th of her knowledge! What I have learned is a little from watching my mom but mostly from what I have watched and learned here on youtube plus some books!! Thanks so much for watching and commenting! hugs, xoxo

    Can't eat that but it looks yummy. We use to can green beans, sauces, jelly and jams etc. I don't have a scanner now but I use to love helping. Now did you just boil the jars without the pressure lid? I would love to see more. Tfs Hugs n luvs

      It is so yummy!! We had lid on it but not under pressure....we just had lid on it to keep water boiling good for the water bath canning! I will try to make those steps more clear on next video!!! I am planning on canning green beans, carrots and some more jams....So there will definitely be more! hugs, xoxo

    using just vinegar, no water for the brine, don't you think it becomes too vinegary?

      @kbhomestead  3 роки тому

      Hi! Linda! I am a new canner so I am not for sure....but you may could go to a channel called Sutton's Daze and ask her about canning with corn starch.....Sorry!! tfw..xo

      OH! Girl....you never heard of corn relish!! It is delicious.....You can eat it along side any dish as a sweet/ tangy kick....like we ate it last night with Pinto beans and cornbread....you can also eat it on top of salad, use it like a hot dog relish...which I did do with a brats and it was so good!!! hugs, xoxo
