Lemmy and Motorhead are the forever loudest 3 piece rock and roll band in the world, The live album Everything Louder than Everyone Else is thier best one, raw, loud, in youre face good old fashioned Rock and Roll played at a zillion hours. the career the band had was immense, there wasnt a band more on stage in a year then them, they were always nice to fans, bands and roadies, name a band that made a song for their own roadcrew. On 28 December 2015 Lemmy passed away, and Motorhead passed away with it he sure didnt lived forever. but he lived alot longer then most would have givin him. rock on Lemmy, and dont forget when it thunders you can bet on it Lemmy is rocking the house above you with his murder one amp, and his modified Rickenbacker bass.

Please do check out No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith if you already haven't it or own it. It is practically speaking a live - best of from the Lemmy - Fast Eddie Clarke - Animal Taylor when they were on the top of their game and abilities. It was deservedly # 1 album in the UK and big everywhere in Europe.

This was great. Lemmy was unique in so many respects, bass playing , vocals and songwriting. In terms of the vocals, if you listen to any of the live recordings of Motorhead, Lemmy was very consistent in his vocals and delivery with no or little effects on the sound board. You have to listen the different years and the live tapes from the soundboard are really good. My take is that Lemmy may not have had a wide range but his power and melodies he wrote for the songs had a kick to it.

Raw unadulterated music. Lemmy not a great singer but a straight forward classic cut from his own cloth. The best part about Lemmy’s voice is that no one could ever tell if he had an off night. Great live! Pure Marshall Stack power!

Lemmy was the personification of rock n' roll. Obviously not much of a singer in proper terms, but still, how many people are walking around that are truly cooler than he was.

I never thought I would see Lemmy here! He's a great songwriter. Mama I'm Coming Home. I Ain't No Nice Guy. I think it's his personality that really shines through. His mind and his attitude. When I listen to him talking in interviews I can just hear all the cigarettes. When he laughs. That wheezing sound. All the fluid in his lungs. I can't help but thinking that I would still love Lemmy if he hadn't ever smoked a cigarette.

The thing most people seem to miss when they try to sing like Lemmy is they think his got this deep growly voice and they end up singing an octave to low. Obviously a lot of people just can't handle pushing their voice like he did and they just sing in a range they're comfortable in. But Lemmys voice had some wierd over/undertones in it, kind of making it sound high and low at the same time.
In his later days he also recorded octave tracks on a lot of songs. Just listen to the ending of "All Gone To Hell"

"Who'd win in a wrestling match, Lemmy or God? Trick question; Lemmy is God." - Airheads, 1994
Lemmy and Motorhead were amongst the best of all time and it says a lot that Motorhead never even considered replacing Lemmy, they instead retired the band name.
“Motörhead is over, of course. Lemmy was Motörhead. But the band will live on in the memories of many.” - Mikkey Dee, Motorhead drummer.

It is amazing how much energy is missing without the band. His voice squeaks and squawks. Just like his bass guitar was cranked to 11 (and sounded like a tightly strung rubber band), his voice was also cranked up to 11! He just didn’t give a f-k! He laid it out there. If you didn’t like it, f-k off! I will always love the rawness of his voice!

Cool series. There really are vocals that sounded heavy with the band. Lemmy's singing sounded dangerous to the cords. Like the vocal production. Copying the main vocal and lowering to an octave with a subtle reverb and delay. Making the sound heavier. Thanks a lot sir Ken.

For me this is one of the great metal songs of all time! I also hope, as a huge metal head, you do a follow up for the three metal god vocalist all in a row! I already suggested either Where Eagles Dare or Flight of Icarus for Bruce and Stargazer for Dio, but if you do another for Halford I can't help feeling like Dreamer Deceiver or Blood Red Skies might really be just awesome to break down!

While not technically great Lemmy and his band had the unsubtle rawness of a sledgehammer which cut through the bland music scene of the late seventies, especially in the UK. remix was super solid dude. personally i would of dropped the cents back a bit on the doubler as the second sample was a bit to low and gives that demonic secondary sound which isnt in a lot of lemmy vocal, drawing that back about a cent or two would of made it spot on. btw with the eq, that sounds amazing.. did you run more then one low pass on it?

But in 1980 , you had also a band Called Venom that kind of designed root of much extreme metal , and godfather of black metal .
Its much gnarly than Motorhead .
