Dude I went for Meshuggah and left saying "Baroness is the best band I will ever see live." Holy shit. I've seen tool and still these guysare the greatest thing I've seen
Yeah and this video is how old ....ead dude...guess you enjoy autotune lol...and actually classify metal...yeah I'm old the content is real the talent is real...these guys rock hands down...feels gud my man..bless all those who truly 🎸 🤘 lol...have some fun man
@@jsunnj76 - I'm not putting down the music. I really enjoy this band. But this video looks like outtakes from the original Twilight Zone put to color. But I'm sure they wanted it to be that way. Great artists are strange folk.
Brilliant band. Really refreshing. I love how a lot of their songs are in major key's too. And as for the Mastodon comparisons. Yeah they sound slightly similiar. And that's all that really needs to be said on the matter.
i love baroness, they are my favorite metal band after iron maiden. they sound like pink floyd's ummagumma meets stoner/drone meets hardcore meets prog meets alternative metal. hail sludge forever
They should've put the Ogeechee Hymnal in the video too, it would be nice. Also, this song is so epic, and is preceded by so many good songs on the album that, when it's over, it's like the album is over; you can't get more epic than this.
I used to think these guys were a mastodon rip-off band, but I really started to enjoy the music. It has a really trippy sense to it and I love that. Second EP for the win.
I agree with Sronpop! Just a note: The ppl who compare them with the Mars Volta probably don't know about Sludge metal in general. Sludge is a tag as well but it describes this band the most i think. The only thing in common of the two bands is that they both have 70's elements in their music.
"Now it's Time for Medication" + Golgotha = is about crucifying thee ego and rebirthing after creeping through the things you don't like or don't understand about yourself.. the video fits perfectly to the lyrics IMHO
I saw this band open for Mastodon last year and they were good. they rock live and being on the same label Isee whythey opened besides sounding influenced by Mastodon and The Sword which i give second place after The Fucking AWSOME MASTODON then this here baroness for bronze. My band will sound in this direction!
@NightmareGanon You have to understand/keep in mind that genres DO progress. And where Iron Monkey, Grief, and Buzz are only bands I like from that list, and where they ARE Sludge. All of them are easily identified with heavy Doom elements as well. There's PLENTY of "Modern" Sludge bands out there that still have Doom elements (Black Tusk, Jucifer, Cough), and others who still dig Sludge but chose not to have Doom. Like Kylesa, and Baroness. I find they have Post-Rock influence with Sludge.
I guess so, ive only just started listening to them, and theres definate differences, like bridges and solos, which in the don, sound more psych, whereass here they kinda just flow along, they dont stand out as much as they do with mastodon. still since i like this kind of music its fricken awesome.
people who say "this is like an lsd trip" "this is him trying to show you what drugs are like" it's kinda surreal and trippy...... but this is nothing like lsd... or most other hallucinogen for that matter
+Erc Misanthrope You're right, to say this is "like an lsd" trip is just not true. But, I do think that if I were to watch this while tripping I would suddenly have some enlightened understanding of this music video- by enlightened, I mean that feeling acid gives you when you feel like you understand a deeper meaning of how everything fits together and ties into everything else even though you can't explain it in words during or after the trip.
+eTingz Dude, my last trip I could have sworn I discovered exactly how the Illuminati uses sound waves to control people. Through music, advertisements, and media in general. Because all matter is merely nothing more than condensed sound waves, we are all sound waves. So what we hear and are surrounded by, will affect us. I was a little scared to understand it so well (in my head) that I ended up seeing a reptilian eye everywhere in my peripheral's background. That was a little scary, but I didn't mind it because I was more curious than scared. But yeah, I totally understand what you're saying.
PatriotIzzy What were you doing at the time? Did something cause you to start thinking about the Illuminati like a TV show, movie, documentary, music about the Illuminati etc.? Or did it just come to you at random?
i'm hoping i'll be able to see these guys rock out live with MASTODON, high on fire and valient thorr. Once again i'm HOPING, keep ur fingers crossd 4 me

Anyone else have an idea of what this song is about? I am thinking it's about a little kid getting ready for bed, falling asleep, and beginning to dream. Baroness writes song lyrics so well.
Even until now, this remains one of the best songs released in the history of music.
anyone else notice how those weird figure are the colours of their future albums?
this is the greatest band i've heard in last six years
still is
@@wastehazey6468 just came to say the same haha.
I agree it still is; just when in need, I can rely on steel that sleeps the eye.
13 years later...damn. good music still works
Dude I went for Meshuggah and left saying "Baroness is the best band I will ever see live." Holy shit. I've seen tool and still these guysare the greatest thing I've seen
relapse has some of the best fucking bands
This song does not get old. The video is a grand example of what can get done without AI.
This looks like a high school Videography final exam project from the introvert acid head that sat in the back of the room all semester
Those people wish they were that talented

I always go back to this band.
In my humble opinion, this is the best song ever written.
these guys know how to send chills down my spine.
I'm officially addicted to this song.
This should have 50 million hits
i love baroness, they are my favorite metal band after iron maiden. they sound like pink floyd's ummagumma meets stoner/drone meets hardcore meets prog meets alternative metal. hail sludge forever
they have the same style of rather "artistic metal" which I love and I think should have far more recognition than what it currently has
im seriously addicted to this song, just cant get enought!
3:32, i think theres been some lick sharing between Mastodon and Baroness
Like when sultans curse sounds like morningstar.
Meh...🎸 🤘 on man.. find religion elsewhere ✌
A bit later sounds like
Asleep in the Deep intro.
@@pascalg16 This came out in 2009, Asleep came out 2014. So Asleep technically sounds like this.
@@shillian4770 I didn't say different.
HOW DOESN'T THIS HAVE A MILLION VIEWS YET?!?! >:(
Truly one of the greatest bands of this century 🤘🔥🤘
Great band. Got into it thanks to purple album back in 2016, and all of the songs are really cool.
What i got out of it was to not give college kids drugs and a projector. So awesome though!
just saw them wednesday opening for mastodon, probably the best show i've been to yet
some bands wanna be the best in their genre, these guys just wanna be the best band in the world
So stoked to be a new fan

I say this with love, total NES Ghost n' Goblins/ Castlevania vibe on the intro, which is all right by me.
What...lol I like it though...gn man

Get Well Soon Guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have to agree. I have First on Vinyl and Tower Falls is still my fav. song.
I agree!
I saw these guys open for Mastodon last year and it was an absolutely incredible show. One of the best I'd ever been to.
Baroness are amazing and so are Mastodon, so lets not fight on who's better, and lets enjoy both of them for what they are pure metal genius's
I agree with Sronpop! Just a note: The ppl who compare them with the Mars Volta probably don't know about Sludge metal in general. Sludge is a tag as well but it describes this band the most i think. The only thing in common of the two bands is that they both have 70's elements in their music.
Love the opening riff.
blue record is the best album ive heard in months
saw these guys last saturday in burlington, vt and i was blown away. i honestly wasn't expecting much, but these guys were fucking excellent.
This is sick on vinyl. 🤟
I love this band and any video that isn't just the band playing in different places i like
Mastodon, Baroness, and Kylesa: Three of my favorite bands, and they're all from my home state ;-)
"Now it's Time for Medication" + Golgotha = is about crucifying thee ego and rebirthing after creeping through the things you don't like or don't understand about yourself.. the video fits perfectly to the lyrics IMHO
i fucking love this song
This song. Is an eargasm.
1:41 NOW THE EPIC BEGINS, probably one of the epicest (most epic?) of the Blue, especially just after Ogeechee Hymnal ...
BLUE AND RED ARE STUNNING. the rest i mean yeah......but can never compare with these 2. Same for Kylesa
"Blue Record": one of the best album from 2009!
wonderful progress... baroness and their evolution is wonderful.
I watched this video on acid once years ago...was still to sober for it.
How? Baroness is incredible.
I saw this band open for Mastodon last year and they were good. they rock live and being on the same label Isee whythey opened besides sounding influenced by Mastodon and The Sword which i give second place after The Fucking AWSOME MASTODON then this here baroness for bronze. I just started listening to this band and they are AWESOME!!!
Beautiful. Beautiful concept.
Magic. The only way to describe this.
Baroness sounds somewhat like Mastodon, but has it's own uniqueness to them.
Awesome
bus wrecks suck! it was a while back, but glad y'all still here!
I got the Blue Record the other day and it is fucking brilliant! Love it!
Can't believe this video/song only has four stars.
Good to hear these dudes are recovering.
clearly,a Genius. The best 3 Bands of That 21st century. Each in their own style

The video clip is about a dancing smeagol who's apparently looking for his precious while on acid.
this video is trippy as hell. love the song.
magnifique,sublime,excellent,grandiose,formidable!!!!
This video made perfect sense.
yep. in madtown
Dude Baroness seriously needs more music videos!
By far, the COOLEST music video, I have EVER seen.
seeing them tomorrow!! YESSS
@jazar I agree a thousand percent.
i do agree
great song for baroness
Trippy.

morphium caused similar caleidoscope-like visions to me ( after surgery, i have no clue how affcts a relative healty person)
its good feeling regardless of health but has nothing to do with hallucinations. it's a painkiller

I'm glad they did. I got to see two fantastic bands with the same ticket. Decapitated was tepid and didn't impress me.
Love love love Baroness!!!
the video is a artistical master work!!!! THE MUSIC BLOWS CHUNKS!!!!
A giant viking Optimus Prime and a Freddie Kreuger-like Rayden character and zombies and modern ballet? sweet.
i loved this song the first time i heard it, i thought it sounded amazing.

This song and album by Baroness preserve very well. The last album Yellow & Green is the last bullshit.
They have a good kinda psychadellic sound! Yeah!
I see your point! very true
STAMPEDE!
I think my earphones are too quiet, I want to listen to this so loud that my ears will explode.
TREE GUITAR!!
This video rocks my socks!

great song - the band has a nice sound.
