Great tips, thanks!!
When you are placing your art in a coffee shop or cafe what is the usual cut for the coffee shop? Thanks for all your super videos!
Hi Myron, good question! Generally the coffee shops are looking for art to put on their walls so most won’t ask for a % but if they do, I would say no more than 15-20% to them. If they do ask for a % then be sure to add that into the prices of your art pieces 👍🏼
Great video thank you!!!
thank you so much for the good idea..
Fast, Helpful, reality...and from the heart Not for like. thank you

Thanks for the information
Just watched your video about selling art work. My friend was an artist who died recently and I have paintings and linocuts to sell and I don't know how. Thank you
I just pulled EVERYTHING off ebay to my own site. 2 months straight no sales and I used to sell well on ebay. No idea, since my painting is better now, but sales are anemic there now depending on the art. I always sell well in person, so I know its not the art. I'm working on focusing FB marketing to my website.
If you're finding success on a certain platform I would suggest to stay there and slowly migrate your customers to your website not 100% move everything at once. Websites are great once you have another traffic source or have built up an audience that loves your work. I suggest finding a way to stay in contact with your buyers so that you can let them know when new pieces are available or direct your customers from ebay to your website
Good information 😍
Thank you :)
Thank you 🌼
What is the safest way to ship art that’s affordable?

I’m into building geometric shelving/ wall art. I have the most fun conceiving and building it. People really like it but I can’t seem to figure out how to market it. I’m a self employed carpenter, asking around in my field for ideas they say that they dunno, that’s an art thing. I go to museums and they say that it isn’t art. Except for one, they hosted a few of my creative shelving pieces to display small items from local artists, that was really kool. I had a yoga studio host a giant mandala shelving unit for a while. That was really kool of them but they closed from the virus. I had to stalk the owner of an old mill that is now a shopping center to host it. He agreed and it’s been there for a year now, people love it but no interest in buying it. To be honest I’d love to just find space for these things and I’d build more but I’m not finding it. Most resistance I get is liability of what if they don’t like it in their space and they want to control how it looks in their space. I have a time lapse of the first one I made up here. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I just checked your channel and it's beautiful work that you do! Thanks for sharing. I have a couple suggestions for you:
1. start recording your process every time you make these and share on tiktok or whatever social media platform you are most comfortable with. All platforms are promoting 30 second videos right now so even a piece of your process.
2. Start making mini versions - not everyone is going to have that much space in their home but I'm sure people would love to buy these and it would open it up to a wider audience who can buy from you.
Hope this helps :)
I did a ton of posting on fb and Instagram each time I got to set up at a show and each time I’ve installed them to promote the businesses that weee hosting them as well. Posted Timelapse and all that. Put it so much into promoting as I could. I like big medium for the immersion. That’s what is like to offer that’s different and where I do my best work. But I hear you loudly and will definitely consider it. I’ll be reading you ebook tonight.
The way that you record also has a lot to do with how the videos will perform and consistency is huge on social media platforms- my husband for example has been posting consistently to social media daily for 5 years. It takes time to get traction. I would need to see your videos so I can give some pointers but I suggest looking at some of my husband’s way of recording and finding a way to mimic that for your style…hope the ebook can also help you 🙏🏼
How to deliver the art piece to the customer?
hi andrea i love your work, i just started posting some of my work on artmo. can you tell me how?
Hi i want ask you i have original art work of big artict name sesare manreque is spanish .. can you give me advice hw can i sell that art work . Im from morocco
Thank you
Its insane... I set everything up got my EIN and DUNS small business number, flooded etsy, ebay, instagram, got my own domain, made photo books and portfolios, turned my tiny apartment into my art studio to work (I sleep on the floor), completely filled my apt with unsold artwork... all this crap and not a single customer yet. Only word of mouth commissions. Nothing online. Very VERY discouraging.
You need to learn how to market your work. Have you tried Pinterest to market your artwork and bring traffic to your Etsy? Pinterest is one of those platforms that practically works on its own.
Try branching into TikTok and show behind the scenes and use those videos on Instagram reels and UA-cam shorts (short video). There is a way for everything. Keep your chin up. Also look into drop shipping print on demand so you don’t have to keep inventory. Printful or printify can be integrated through Etsy.
If I hang my art in cafees and restaurants will I get any money?
tnx for great video,
and hey by the way you look like "Julia Jones"
Wow have things changed since this video.
You are beautiful ❤️,
And your video is useful 👍
Thank youu
Thanks so much! That’s very kind of you ❤️
New subscriber!
Thanks for being here ❤️
Focus on marketing strategies. Art business is about 95% marketing and 5% creating art. The best way to sell is through social media and organic videos. You must think outside the box.
Exactly 👍🏼
Hello....I love making paintings but can’t make too many because of my other work n kids so in this situation how it will work. As long as I know we have to open a company in order to put our work on eBay or etsy. Not sure about this. Please suggest 🙏 best wishes from California!
Hello, no you don't have to open a company in order to put your works on eBay or etsy :) I would consider registering yourself as a company when you start to make close to $20k off of your artwork/business
Great information? Any thoughts on Amazon
Personally, I recommend selling through your own website but people like to start on Amazon and then maybe transition there. Amazon is not my favorite place to sell due to the high fees and you can’t keep your customer’s information- Amazon doesn’t share that which is a huge part of owning an online business
Hi Angrial
My name is Wiki and I enjoyed istining to your video.
I am blind and have a hearing impairment and I do art work like pottery work but unfortunately it is not fired and I do a bit of art paintings but I never soled it and now I thought that I will start seling it.
I would like to make some money and hopely ater make huge a amount of money what way is the best to start.
Thanks Wiki
How to use artmo
Thank for this video. You mentioned Shopify, I have WIX. Your thoughts on comparison?
Thanks! 🌺
Both are great for a beginner getting your website set up! I just prefer Shopify for e-commerce because I’ve had more experience with it
@@itsdreak thank you for your reply. I am relieved to know that I do not need to start over regarding my website 🌺
Hi, when selling to hotels do we the artist provide framing, or just the prints? Thank you for your help?
I thought Etsy overwhelming, and they wouldn't respond to banking routing questions.
Sir how much % commission charged by Amazon if we sell our mandala art on this platform???
How much is
Good
Once you design an art piece do you have to have it copyrighted like you do with music?
I was also wondering the same thing
Good question. With music Trademark Patent Office requires your music on CD to be copyrighted. The good news about art is, once the artist created his/her art, it is copyrighted right there and there without having to fill the form, so an artist or painter's work is protected. AI art is not copyrightable.
Thank you. Do you have any suggestions for return policies regarding selling fine art? It’s caused me a few sleepless nights- once a print has left me at the shipper- I don’t want to be responsible for it. I can’t be. People who have sold on eBay have warned me about people saying they got the artwork damaged and wanted to get a partial refund for the piece- but he wanted to keep the piece! So the gentleman to.d me to tell the buyer that instead of sending them a partial refund, to have them return the artwork back to me. This sounds like a huge scam. What do you recommend?
Good question, for us we have a no refund policy on all fine art purchases. There are a lot of scams out there and you have to be able to protect yourself as the artist as well. Especially on such a big purchase, once it leaves the door it is not our responsibility (although we are sure to package it carefully and purchase insurance on the shipment) it’s ok to have this as a policy you just want to be sure your customers know that
Ebay has way too many fees. Etsy you will get lost in the sea of other artists. Every time you make a new listing on eBay there is a fee no matter if the art sells or not.
I agree 100%. I spent 2 days painting a 24x30 seascape, stuck it on etsy, then did a search for seascape paintings and it pulled up over 58,000... Half of these fly-by-night artist have never owned a business and it shows with the ridiculous cheap prices. Done with my rant for the day.
@@thesandman6855 I've seen people on E-bay who are making copies of someone else's art work and calling it an original. I have reported them but Ebay hasn't done anything to stop it. Unfortunately, it takes away from us real artist because they can sell it for so cheap.
Hey! So I’ve never sold my art online b4 and I’m only recently getting ready to open a bank account, what in your opinion (commenters as well) is a good and simple way to receive payment? Like cashapp, credit card, wha?
Usually you can take payment via Paypal, Venmo, or Cashapp whatever you’re most comfortable with 🙌🏼
I want to sell my animated paintings. Its a new concept. Pls help me
