- What more can SA take before we find ourselves stuck in State Capture 2.0? Reports that Deputy President Paul Mashatile resides in a lavish R37 million home are alarming.
The DA will supplement its complaint to the Public Protector with this new information.
The reports indicate that the lavish home was purchased by Mashatile's son-in-law, Nceba Nonkwelo, who allegedly received funding from Gauteng government entities. Furthermore, Mashatile’s son, Thabiso, is listed as a co-purchaser of the property.
This speaks loudly on the destructive habit of ANC cadres to abuse taxpayer funds to finance their luxury lifestyles - a carbon copy of State Capture 1.0. The DA's commitment is to ensure transparency, accountability, and the dismantling of ANC State Capture 2.0 before it wreaks further havoc on our society.

In politics, there is nothing worse than a wolf in sheep's clothing. I am living in the US and usually vote Democrat but if I find out that the candidate is a "limousine liberal", I would much rather vote for a moderate and thoughtful and ethical Republican than to simply cast my vote for a label. Yes, I know there are few moderates here but I'm just saying that on occasion, I have switched over. It's COUNTRY FIRST for me. I really hope South Africans wake up and really give the DA a chance to try to right all these wrongs. From what I can see, after Mandela, the ANC went completely down the tubes and if you want to learn more, look up Gold Mafia Al Jazeera to understand this more deeply. What I’d love to see all these parties do now is to get together, pull their resources, skills and brains and tackle the huge problems we have in the country - lack of service delivery; documentation of citizens for purposes of charging for services provided. This is very important for reduction of criminality of all sorts happening in our country. These scandals should be left to the law enforcement. This finger pointing is not taking us anywhere. Nothing is improving.
