The second half of my trip!!! It was soooo beautiful and I really enjoyed it, would definitely recommend Kusatsu for small town onsen vibes 💕 And next week…cherry blossoms 👀🌸

Thank you so much for bringing us along in this beautiful place! Wow, Japan in wintertime looks so magical, onsens in the snow seem even more enjoyable :) And the yukata, so pretty! I wonder, do you ever wear formal kimonos? How do Japanese people react when foreigners wear traditional clothing items? (sorry for the English mistakes 😅) Love from France! xx Cécile

I have once before, and it was actually a bunch of elderly Japanese women who made me wear it 😂 I want to wear it again!! I can’t speak for all Japanese people or anything, but as long as you don’t treat it as a costume, most Japanese people don’t mind 💕

Wow that hotel looked amazing and I definitely have to keep that in mind when it’s possible again to travel to Japan and I’m looking for a place to stay at Kusatsu Onsen. I love ryokans, especially the ones with traditional Japanese rooms and a onsen bath. They always have that calming and cozy atmosphere. You can have stylish luxury hotels everywhere in the world. But those ryokans with all the tatami mats and futons and all that beautiful dark wood is just special and I would always choose such a hotel over a western one. And the town looked amazing too. I definitely have to see it for myself one day 😍

Hi Allison. I'm thinking of visiting Kusatsu Onsen next year. I'll be staying in Tokyo and I'll be base there. My question is if it's a one day town to visit or you need more days. My idea is to get there early from Tokyo and then get back in the latest train.

Great video! Im planning on going there in February. What time of year did you visit ? Also, do you recommend that hotel or is there something else you would rather have had booked? And on last question, how easy is it to get around not really knowing japanese in Kusatsu? I know you could get away with it at big cities like Tokyo and Kyoto but not so much in smaller towns.
