I had a great trip by myself last week 😊 I love getting out of the city sometimes, especially during winter since I love to look at the snow (but not live in it heh) Have you traveled to Japan in winter before? It's one of my favorite times of year to do it...everything feels so peaceful in the snow 😇 And there's nothing better than an onsen overlooking banks of snow!!! It's the best feeling in the world 💕
I loved this beautiful video. When I was in my 20's and early 30's, I used to go on vacations by myself too, and this video was so nostalgic for me. I truly enjoyed exploring a new place by myself and relaxing on my own, and your video captured that feeling for me exactly. I'm almost 60 years old now, but I enjoy your videos so much because you remind me of myself at your age. I still live in the US and never traveled abroad, but we have a lot in common nonetheless. I think you are brave, and I admire that you are true to yourself. ❤(and I love pink and gaming and manga and anime and cuteness and afternoon tea and fancy coffee drinks too)
thank you for doing these videos among the chaos that’s going on in the world. it’s a reminder of all the “small” things in our lives we as humans should love and treasure. 💜
Oh this looks all so nice and cozy! I’d love to see Japan in Winter some time. Hopefully the borders open soon for tourists again fingers crossed 🤞 and until then I just enjoy your lovely videos about it. So thanks for sharing!
I've travelled alone in America but only in California, I don't know if I would anywhere else. It's good to hear you feel safe in Japan travelling alone because that's what I will do when I finally get to go!
Such a pretty video! I miss snow so much, I live in a place that barely gets any and it never sticks longer than a night, but I grew up in a place where we got snowed into our houses at least once a year lol. Thanks for all the pretty and kinda nostalgic clips of so much snow! Solo travel looks so relaxing. I'd really never want to do it in the States, particularly as a woman, but I'm really looking forward to it in Japan. So nice that it's safe enough for that! Also I just noticed that your subscriber count is almost at 10k!!! How exciting!!! This is the first time I've really watched a channel grow like this, I was around before you got monetized and only had a couple hundred subscribers. You've worked really hard on your channel and it's so cool to see you growing! Congrats!
I enjoy following you along in your life in Japan Allison. Nothing wrong with going by yourself and seeing all those beautiful places. I hate winter now but only because I live with snow 6 months of the year, but I would still visit places like this. Keep doing what your doing and ありがとうございます
Your channel popped up on my recommendations the day my cat passed. Whenever I feel sad and missing my boy, which is often, I watch your channel to escape reality. I really love your videos--- I just regret I couldn't share this watching experience with Rosco.
What a peaceful and tranquil town! I remember Karuizawa from Ouran High School Host Club, and there's a scene of the outdoor shopping center. It looks just like the anime, except for the snow. LOL. I loved the video and can't wait to see the second part! Thank you. :)
This was so nice!! So peaceful too. I’ve taken day trips by myself and it’s lovely but I haven’t had the courage to fully travel on my own yet; thank you for the boost of encouragement, it was good to hear ☺️
Chanced upon your video doing some research on Karuizawa :) just wanted to say - what a restful video, with lilting and romantic background music... Hope that you are feeling comfortable in your own company and enjoying the time being alone :) that's something that I'm working on myself, too!
This was an absolute lovely video.. I love that you put on the skates and had the expensive lunch that's what little trips are for you only live once thanks so much for sharing🥰🥰
Thank You for the video! I have the same feeling as you. It is always difficult to match our time with friend. I love to go around Japan, but I guess I have to be brave and start my first solo trip in Japan!
This place looks so cute! I'm a 2021 JET who is (still lol) waiting to depart due to covid so I've missed the winter season for this year but I will definitely be putting Karuizawa on my list of places to visit for next year for my snow fix!!!
@@AllisoninTokyo opening new doors is a pretty good season, it was the first once I watched so Im attached to it even tho my favourite couple broke up after the show 😭 I do recommend tho
I love these type of solo travel videos! I can’t wait to do some of these myself when in Japan. Also, there was a point where you say “that’s rare” about a person walking down the street with a white flag. What was that about?
your videos inspired me to plan a winter trip this year to kanazawa and matsumoto (and nagano) and now considering adding karuizawa after seeing this video. i'm thinking 2/3 nights in kanazawa, 1 night nagano, day trip to matsumoto, and 1/2 nights in karuizawa? number of nights enough or too much for any of those places? rest of trip will be in tokyo (total 13 days). will be my 5th trip to japan, i'm a solo traveler just like you! thank you for your videos!
I'm curious if a traveler to Japan who is disabled should get travelers insurance? What does it cover if you know. Thank you just started watching and I love it!
Such a great winter video! Are you a fan of terrace house? This is where they shot the Opening New Doors season. I fell in love with Karuizawa since seeing the show!
usually roughly…but i don’t usually do shopping on these trips so the only unknown is food and maybe a few tickets to things 😆 so i can plan it beforehand!!
This looks like a lovely place to visit. Your choice of music was perfect for it. Say, how do you handle the nakedness with the onsen? It's terrifying to me. I couldn't do it. It's underrated how nice it is to not have to wait for someone else to get ready or have to cater to someone else's taste as far as meals. I traveled with a friend once who took about 1 1/2 hours to get ready every morning. I think in total it was over 6 hours of time wasted waiting for her. That's a big chunk of a vacation lost. :( Though solo travel can seem a bit daunting and scary too.
thanks!! it’s scary at first but it’s best to go with someone else your first time who’s done it before 😆 now i’ve done it probably like 50 times….so it’s no problem 🙈 and ahhh i know what you mean, everyone’s schedules are different 😭
thanks for another wonderful video!!!! would love it if you could give a rough estimate on how much a solo trip like this cost for you! Like for transportation, accommodation, food expenses & etc. So I can plan for a similar trip! Thank you again for sharing!

yes, it's hard to know what to do in these times, but for now i'll keep going and try to make peaceful content 💕
This video is so peaceful & I really loved that you did this solo trip by yourself. Sending you all my love from Morocco xx !
Thank you so much!!

heheh yes!! the little things make a difference…honestly i came so close to not ice skating but in glad i did 🙈
I'm behind on your videos but this was so calming to watch! The snow looks epic!

This is a lovely video too watch. Thank you for sharing this. 👍🥰
thanks 🌸🌸
so nice, love the snow
Thanks for this well-made video. Great effort. A beautiful resort town. The breads look sumptuous.
thanks so much 😊
That was amazing! Thank you for showing us this place.
I love a solo trip ! loved this so muchhhh
thanks so much 🌷
I hope my daughters will be as sensible and adventurous as you one day. Have fun and stay safe!!
it's like a mini-movie! i like the single soundtrack that's maintained throughout. it really knits all the scenes nicely
thanks so much 🥺 trying for a more cinematic mood!!!
John Lennon and Yoko Ono loved Karuizawa, they stayed at Karuizawa for a long time when they came to Japan.
Out here living my dream ☺️ Looked like a cozy trip hope you had fun
Who here first heard about Karuizawa in Terrace House? 🙋🏻😃
Also, thanks Allison for this peaceful video 😌🙏

honestly i think karuizawa is meant to be enjoyed in summer 😂😂 but winter was great if you want cheaper hotels 😆 sooo many good winter places though 🥺
素敵な動画だよ!
I've wanted to visit karuizawa since the terrace house season there
Seems like a winter wonderland 😍🌨️
Thanks!! I've heard that a lot 😆 But I've never seen that season 🦔 I've always wanted to go since I heard it was a place for rich Tokyoites villas 😆
@@AllisoninTokyo opening new doors is a pretty good season, it was the first once I watched so Im attached to it even tho my favourite couple broke up after the show 😭 I do recommend tho
Those pastries looked awesome
were so good 😍
really need to visit this town so I can think something else than テラスハウス every time I see it 😆very pretty 💕
hahaha 😂😂 yes much more to it than that!!!
I love these type of solo travel videos! I can’t wait to do some of these myself when in Japan. Also, there was a point where you say “that’s rare” about a person walking down the street with a white flag. What was that about?
It's a tour group with a flag!! I haven't seen any in a long time 😅 Usually there are swarms of them
Would you choose a pasmo or suica card for travel in japan alsoThank you for such great videos I've grown to really enjoy your quirky personality

i’m not, only seen a few random episodes 😆 i’m glad!!!
Have you tried the sleeper ferry services?
I found your channel like 2 years after you have been making videos. I’m not say it’s a must but could you say the month in your videos.
Comfy vlog, thanks for showing
thanks 😊
What a nice little time! Do you have a budget when do you small trips like this?
usually roughly…but i don’t usually do shopping on these trips so the only unknown is food and maybe a few tickets to things 😆 so i can plan it beforehand!!
