when working with cf always wear protective gear. you dont want to know why know... trust me on this.. gloves for handling unpolished, full facemask for cutting/filing/sanding/similar.used matte cc would compliment the cf better ;)

It is a SolidWorks they have version for hobbyists too, which is cheaper
carbon fiber one can be dangerous because of thin carbon fibers on the surface. I think you should add a thin layer of epoxy on it.
when you shift a gear, the fibers will stick to your hand?
