  • This little known destination in the San Rafael Swell, Utah was truly Stunning! PLEASE WATCH TIL THE END, the AERIALS ARE INCREDIBLE!! A decent dirt 2WD drive road heading north from I-70 took me through one beautiful scene after the next, including road side Pictographs at Buckhorn wash, ultimately depositing me on the rim of the Little Grand Canyon were countless unbelievable views could be had! The campsite was honestly one of the best in the world, check out the dji drone footage. I literally backed my truck up right to the rim and had insane views right from my bed while camping! I did remind myself not to wander AT ALL for any midnight bathroom runs!
There is a well maintained mellow single track mountain bike trail, the Good Water trail, on the north side of the astounding, "Wedge Overlook." The trail contours a huge and scenic drainage that empties into the Little Grand. The biking was fair, the rim views were mind boggling! There were also large pictograph sites on the way there in Buckhorn wash as well as leaving when heading toward Castle Dale. As usual, the APP, Road Trip Ryan made the adventure straight forward and stress free!

WOW! The drone footage is so epic, and I had no idea this 'little' Grand Canyon existed! Now I need to get over there, especially with the lack of crowds... thanks again 👍

Yea man, really appreciate it! The entire Swell is packed with amazing formations and therefore adventures of all kinds. This is a great example of a stunning area not that familiar to a lot of folks. Glad you enjoyed the trip 👍! Karl

I know, it is fine for the entire country to do swamp Colorado all year round basically but. . . I will admit, Moab has turned into a 3 ring circus, LOL! but no worse than literally dozens of Colorado venues. . .

Really enjoyed this one Karl. The colours really “popped” on our Sony 65” TV! I had the opportunity many years ago to visit the Sth rim of the Grand Canyon. This trip brought back memories. Beautifully captured & narrated as always. Really like the transcript inclusion. Is that new?
Are you going to invest in the new Mavic 3 Pro. I reckon it would be awesome for you given it’s size, weight & features. It is certainly the “drone hot topic” at present. All the best mate from “the land down under”!

I've already pulled the trigger on the Mini 3 Pro. Video wise, I think it will be very close to my Air 2S, not an up grade. . .but the portability with all the same functionality, OMG good for me and my type of challenging adventures. Really, the facet that sold me was the controller. I hate messing with the phone, cliff side it is very risky to have 3 expensive items, phone, controller and Mavic out and preparing for launch. Helped kill my Air 2. . . I always hand launch so that makes for even more juggling. The all in one RC is huge for me. I expect it will work with the Air 2S as well since they are both on occusync 3!
I often want to take a shot with the phone too, so I'm alway forced to break down the controller just to put it back together soon after. . .not ideal. Carrying the new controller in my Jacket while biking or climbing and running active track will be way better too. I am always nervous with the top heavy phone set-up tucked in my jacket with my precious I phone 13 hanging in the balance! More stress, more to loose. . . big and top heavy too, again the new controller will be a savior. I am very excited to use a bunch more drone shots in my stuff and I know the mini 3 with controller is going to be so nice and easy! as well as a small light drone with tracking! I just wish I could use 3rd party apps with the new controller! I use the mavin app with GPS tracking, follow me. It's not perfect but definitely usable. I used it in this video with the Air 2 s and mini 2. It is a bit aggravating to know DJI could easily reinstate "follow me" and all their drones could track you that way, by GPS coordinates. . . and from any distance. I like having the drone far and high not only to show scale but also to be sure it is high enough to be safe from ground obstacles. Current visual tracking is short range only and I do not trust the APAS system too much. . . as I'm sure you know. I guess I'll still need to carry a second controller if I want Mavin, thanks DJI! That app is impressive!

Wicked awesome ride and spectacular views. I did not know about this part of the Grand Canyon. Love the drone views!! May I ask what map program do you use that allows you to zoom in, rotate, and show the tracking you hike/bike?
