Carving a Basswood Egg ASMR

Basswood eggs are the beginning of many wood carvings. You can easily carve your own. Learning to carve an egg will help you understand how to carve with the grain, and how to carve end grain. This "goose" egg started as a 2.75 x 2.75 x 3 inch (4.5 x 4.5 x 7.5 cm) block.

The egg in the video is basswood, although it is likely southern basswood which is darker. The egg progression in the title picture is pine.
