Heya Everyone, Hope You All Enjoyed This Vid. Sorry it took a bit longer than usually, had a bunch of editing problems. But I'm really happy with how this video turned out. Also feel free to give my some constructive criticism here, would love too hear feedback on my vids. Also pixars newest movie Turning Red Came Out today, soo check that out too!! >:3
One thing I maybe think you should do is put some kind of identifier on the video thumbnails. I see you have a pattern, but I think it's still not immediately clear which videos on the suggested videos pane come from you. A logo in one of the corners or maybe a border would make it easier to see which videos were made by you
This is a classic. I think my favorite type of licensed games are those that actually adapt the source material to work better as a videogame, my favorite example is the G-force 2008 game. The movie was a fairly forgettable story about secret agent guinea pigs uncovering a plot to exterminate the human race with evil killer robot appliances. Though the movie spends more time making awkward jokes than anything else. The studio that made the game realised that the movie's plot didn't adapt well to a game and wrote their own story focusing solely on infiltrating buildings and battling killer appliances. The parts of the movie that would adapt well to a game. I like that THQ did the same thing and wrote their own story for the Cars game. I also like that they didn't try to re-invent the wheel and took inspiration from other racing games that were popular at the time like NFS Underground 2 and Midnight club. I had played NFS Underground 2 so having cars play similarly just with the cast from the movie worked really well. I don't know how many hours I spent on it, but I know I kept regularly playing it for months. I don't enjoy it too much nowadays sadly since I find the track design and controls a bit too basic for my current taste, but I respect it a lot for what it is. The king and Wingo were always my favorite characters, too bad you couldn't play them in most events. I can also attest to the PC version being pretty poor sadly. My cousin had the OG PC release and he barely got to play it because it's really particular about your PC setup. The steam version is updated and at least usually runs on most PC's. But it literally can't start on Intel GPU's. So most PC's aside from dedicated gaming PC's and laptops can't even start it. That's a major fail for a game most likely to be played by kids with cheap PC's. They also deleted the unlockable movie clips from the steam version, I'd assume there was a license issue, but doesn't Disney own the movie cars? They should have the right to use the movie clips in a game they published right?(The steam version was published by Disney Interactive). The PC version is a direct port of the Xbox version and is also locked to 30fps. Another facepalm is a glitch that affects all versions of the game. if you play the Tractor tipping minigame even once, that save file is permamently tainted with a glitch. The "camera auto-center" option gets permamently set to OFF for that save file, even if you try to set it to ON, the setting won't work on any save file that played the tractor tipping minigame. The only way to make the setting work again is to start a new save file
That tractor tipping glitch got carried over to the follow up game, Cars Mater-National Championship, although there is a fix for it where you turn off auto recenter when you’re going to play that game. As for the PC version, I’d say just use Dolphin and run the Wii version. It looks so much better and can run on modern computer, whereas the original PC version is a port of the original XBOX version and cannot run on Windows 10 or later (unless you use the steam version, which still uses the original XBOX port).
Don’t ever feel embarrassed for liking cars; Heck, I actually like all three of those movies better than both Incredibles movies, and I am a lifelong Pixar fan with toy story 2 Being my favourite movie of all time! :-)
As someone who loves the Cars franchise over any other Disney franchise, the first Cars game is definitely a game I recommend anyone playing. I enjoy playing it on both the PS2 and the Xbox 360. And I appreciate the fact it continues the story after said movie. I always find it interesting some of the characters that appear in the game were meant to be in the film itself. Which I don’t think any movie tie-in game does that.
I personally love Cars 3 because it really shows the personal and business side of NASCAR. Not to mention how much it really showcases the bond Lightning and Doc had by introducing Smoky.
In the UK they were selling cereal for around 10 great british pounds with a CD of this game. I wanted it so bad, but my parents wouldnt get it, then later my dad pirated it and now I have it on steam
i just got this game last week for the first time on the wii (i suddenly got really into cars at random lol) and i loooove it!!! im not a huge gamer but ive always loved racing games, that combined with the story and characters, its just so perfect!!!!! even if i had to learn to get used to the wiis motion controls which ive always hated, i can look past that because i genuinely find it so fun
Knowing that the original characters for the game were supposed to be in the movie makes me wonder why they still haven’t shown up on screen yet. Cars 2 would’ve been a perfect opportunity to show that green British car Fletcher. Hell, Count Spatula would’ve been cool to see at the demolition derby in Cars 3
man, this game was the game that got me into racing games. it's a great first racing game, and i put lots of hours into it on the gamecube back in the day
I find Cars 3 is the best as I can relate to Lightning McQueen in that one, he's not as good as he used to be anymore, and I feel the same way, I played videogames so much growing up and I felt that my skills have dwindled and I'm only 26 at the time of writing this, I feel old, not to mention, Lightning had a near death experience and I did once too, but that was back in highschool and a different near death experience
I remember when I was a kid I saw this movie. I fell in love with it instantly. I loved the characters, the jokes made me laugh, heck I still have the original die cast cars to this day. On my 5th Birthday my aunt gave me rectangular present. At first I thought it was something in a box. But as I ripped the wrapping paper I knew it was nothing such as that it was what looked like 2 DVD'S the first was Cars on DVD. But I found ou the second one wasn't a DVD but Cars the Video Games on the PS2. I played that game all day even after school. I loved the gameplay, I played the arcade mode, I unlocked all the Characters, and paint jobs, it was my favorite and first racing game.
I've only played this game on PC with CD, and its just so much better on PC than all the versions this video covered. It's like the best game I've played when playing it on PC, keyboard and mouse.
You should do a ranking of every movie from studios like Pixar, Walt Disney, Dreamworks, Sony Animation, Illumination, Blue Sky, the Pokémon Movies eta
The PS2 version of this game has the grand distinction of being the first video game I ever played as a kid, so I’ll always have some great nostalgia for it. Actually, now that I think about it, I don’t think they ever made die-casts for the characters that only appear in the games (and I’m aware of book material as well). If they wanted to, they could rerelease the trilogy as a perfect excuse to start making die-casts of them.
The word 'remake' basically means a completely new game based on an older game, usually a classic. But there are variations on how this is defined. Rebuilding using modern technology Videogame remakes in the classic sense could almost be viewed as a process of painting by numbers. Many of these projects will simply take the original game's mechanic loops and ideas, and rebuild them using modern technology, with better controls and often new assets, with the result usually being an experience you’re familiar with - but much more polished. Great examples of this type of remake are the likes of the Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, MediEvil and Shadow of the Colossus remakes, which in their new guise are visual recreations that bear an uncanny resemblance to their original retro counterparts but aren't exactly the same game. See also the Wii U's Zelda: Wind Waker remake, which has a slightly different art style, and adds the option for faster sailing around its seas. Same idea, different execution Now, though, we're starting to see total remakes that are more than just a better version of the original. They're essentially different games, even if they use the same story, setting, music, art style or gameplay ideas. We might not have our hands on it just yet, but the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake is looking to be a prime example of this, ditching the traditional turn-based shenanigans of the original and instead using the mechanics of modern Final Fantasy titles. Regardless of Final Fantasy VII’s complete overhaul, Cloud will hopefully still slip into that cute purple dress like he’s supposed to. Resident Evil 2's 2019 remake, too, is designed to mirror the original as much as possible, but instead of the 1998 version's fixed camera angles, it's a more modern over-the-shoulder third-person shooter. This approach shows how you can give people a comfortable dose of nostalgia while still making a best-in-class game for today's players. No wonder Resident Evil 3 is getting the same treatment.
Cool review video about the first Cars game, I had the Wii version growing up and me and my grandad loved it we played every time i went over to their place in 2020 i rebought the Wii and played it a bit. Yesterday i bought the Xbox 360 version for my 2nd Xbox 360 S i will be receiving next week and hopefully it will work i'm hoping to have lots of fun and new memories with my new to me XB360.
I never saw before the JP GC box art. I haven't also watched Cars in a few years but I do enjoy the game on Xbox too. Also I heard that the Steam versions of the Cars games don't work well... edit: i commented this at the beginning of the vid so they do point out the issues with the steam version. i haven't played it on there either.

It's funny to me how this game came out before the movie, creating a meme that Lightning McQueen is a video game character.
I never thought I would see the day where pixar would do a video game adaptation

Cars works much better as a gaming franchise than a film franchise! Cars, Maternational and Race-O-Rama are all really great arcade racers for kids
I remember it being fun to try and find all the tight and hard to find secret areas, finding the extra ramps, and bumping into the other cars.

7th Generation of consoles, Cars 1 here Also happens to be the seventh Pixar movie, EH? :-)
1:41 Not to mention this was the last Pixar film to be THX certified. This is when Disney ended their relationship with THX.
I still remember playing this game on the laptop of my parents. I didn't even know it came out before the movie

I still have this on Wii. It was cool for that time as I’ll put it simple. I could also picture that the portable versions were what I played too.

So wait, Beetleguse voices Chick Hicks, Beetleguse, Toad, and a few other characters? Dude Keaton is one heck of an actor
Do you think you'd do a video on Cars Mater-National? Since it's a very similar situation to Rise of the Underminer.
Even Race-O-Rama
