I was listening to The Motto by Drake and after watching your sound selection video I realized that T Minus didn’t follow your rule of having a low frequency kick complementing the mid frequency clap/snare.. or more generally, he used these mid frequency sounds and they somehow complemented each other, with no frequency overlap.
I hear a shaker, snare, clap, and 808s mostly and the 808s are hitting on the snare.
Is the reason that this works because he put the 808s over the snare, so that creates the “low frequency” part?
Even after that, how does it work on the parts where the 808s aren’t present?
