Control AWE DLC - Fra Mauro AWE Hartman confrontation

This Control AWE - Altered World Events / Alan Wake DLC game guide video shows how to survive the confrontation with Hartman in the Fra Mauro AWE location. Just as before don't try attacking the boss. You must solve a big puzzle in the room while avoiding the darkness and getting attacked by the boss.
Follow the route from our video - it's about pressing certain buttons and following the moving light. Make sure to stay in the light for as long as possible, because otherwise Hartman will fire missiles at you (or kill you in direct combat). Collect the first power core along the way and keep using telekinesis to transport it all the way to the other side of the room. Your goal in the main room is to unlock two upper slots and to place a power core in each slot. This will unlock the elevator - quickly go there and head to the upper control room. Pressing the switch will scare Hartman away.

Worst part of any game I have ever played, just fucking awful, I had to use invincibility or else I'd just quit playing the DLC altogether cause this puzzle in the pitch black dark made no sense.

So glad I read this comment. I completely forgot you could turn on invincibility. Must have died 10 times before I finally turned it on and I still could barely get through this part. Love the game but absolutely hated this whole thing. So tired of playing in the dark.

I don’t think there’s 1 mission of this game that I haven’t had to research at least 1 objective on. Not a bad game itself but the directions they give you are horrible. 7/10, would be a 9 if the directions weren’t shit.

It's a metroidvania unfortunately it's by design. I thought the rest of the game was rather easy to find your way with the map and signs but damn this AWE DLC was frustrating

Sometimes they make the gameplay too convoluted just to be more edgy. It’s a shame because the plot, the ambience, the animations.. they are amazing. But the game wants to be too much “Dark Souls” for its own good, because it takes it too far, to a point where it’s detrimental for the gameplay.
