About six years ago we replaced the water heater in our old house. The new one was a Rheem. It started leaking not even two years later. The new one is an AO Smith and we paid a bit too much for it; the local supply house where we get our appliance parts had a Bradford-White the same size for a couple hundred less.

Good old water heater from Robert White. Sadly in CA, most counties have to spend twice the money and use those heaters that use a condensate fan motor and larger exhaust vents. That usually involves hiring an electrician to bring power and then a roofer to modify the roof cap. Likely another $3,000 to what this job cost. Only in CA...and the benefits of clean air to cost is miserably one complete waste per homeowner when factoring in the cost.

Is this new to this model control valve? I was under the impression that anything more than 1 flash every 3 seconds was an error code. Mine is doing the same but will not ignite the burner. Thanks.
