Looks like he's done it more than a few times before. Great job Steve. Thank you for sharing!!!
True legend in the field. Imagine him as a mentor?
Steve would be an excellent mentor!
Might have to work on his customer service skills 😁 Here in Va he would probably be fired for interrupting people and taking politics 😂. I do enjoy the videos though just didn’t places and different people 😁
@@PlumbingRight ya up here is mass we dont kiss ass and be a phony
@@stevenlavimoniere That is what we like about you, Steve. You are the real deal. I also enjoy your humorous political comments a lot. (And agree with them, too). We had all BETTER become more politically aware--look at where the country is going! Being afraid to speak out is part of how we got here.
@@stevenlavimoniere unfortunately your right! A lot of ass kissing and backstabbing here
Last November when i installed my water heater i used your tip of using teflon tape, and Megaloc on the inlets. No leaks, or crusties yet!
22 Years is a good run for a water heater! I find if you purge the gas on its first fire-up they light quicker ! Great video!
Then get a furnace
You should measure from top-to-bottom how many inches so the vent make it easier usually 58 and a half
Hi Steve, there was one thing that you left out. A ground bond between the hot and cold copper pipes, Joe Capo.
About six years ago we replaced the water heater in our old house. The new one was a Rheem. It started leaking not even two years later. The new one is an AO Smith and we paid a bit too much for it; the local supply house where we get our appliance parts had a Bradford-White the same size for a couple hundred less.
Thanks for the videos Steve. Your videos inspire and motivate many people.
I love it when you bring out the pipe wrenches. LOL!
Great job Steve i am so glad you showed step by step how to put a hot water tank in you and molly came through again have a great day
She's a leakah Mama! Not! Love how Steve wipes the excess solder from the pipe. Classy job.
The new truck is going well, seems to have plenty of grunt.
Steven, you make it look easy! 25 minute video, and Miss Molly is like, "What took you so long!" LOL😉
Great water heater install Steve.
Thank you for the video! I’m going to need to install one of these coming up.
Good job buddy. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Keep’em coming. Thank you!
Another great video Steve, your the man! Keep the video's coming friend 👍 ☝️ 🎉
Thanku steve for posting these vidioes these have helped me out so much !!! Please keep teaching !!!!!
Great job Steve.
Nice job.
The homeowner was smart picking a Bradford White. And picking Steve to install it.
Interesting...I had never seen a gas water heater replacement before. It is amazing how fast you can work, Steve! The customer definitely gets their money`s worth on the work time end. It takes great strength and skill to do what you do.
Masterful.
In the "Old Days" the hot water tank was in the kitchen or the back porch, I was a (Floor Man) for about 10 years and I had to move everything out by myself including Cook Ranges, Icebox old term for Refrigerators and hot water heater.
Why isn't the water hot yet?
People sure are special hahaha
Good old water heater from Robert White. Sadly in CA, most counties have to spend twice the money and use those heaters that use a condensate fan motor and larger exhaust vents. That usually involves hiring an electrician to bring power and then a roofer to modify the roof cap. Likely another $3,000 to what this job cost. Only in CA...and the benefits of clean air to cost is miserably one complete waste per homeowner when factoring in the cost.
Glorious, revolutionary, humanist socialist people's paradise California.
@@jamesrecknor6752 Either that or rigged ballots/elections.
Steve, this one was a real cliffhanger!
Hey Steve and Miss Molly! Workin’ again y’all. 👍👍
Molly's workin again yooo
Steve nice video. It appeared that this water heater was a natural draft setup. Is there not a requirement in Mass for safety spill switches to be installed (aside from the CO detector)?
What a cute dog
Hello Steve!
Was this one exempt from 4” vent pipe and chimney liner?
Good job Steve water heaters have gone up in price they are crazy high
What brand water heater do you recommend these days?
How tell which way a union coupler has been installed? I look at them and find it difficult to see which way to loosen them? I try to look for a thread but sometimes I don't see it. Thx
Looks really good. Whats the gray stuff u use on the threads for the pipes?
Pipe dope, a liquid thread sealing
Gundy
Did you have one on the truck?
Howdy Steve and Molly
Hi Steve
Steven…. Will you ever switch to Pro-Press or just keep sweating fittings?
@stevenlavinmoniere Question for you. When you turned the control valve from PILOT to HOT, the green light went from 1 flash every 3 seconds to constantly flashing. Is this new to this model control valve? I was under the impression that anything more than 1 flash every 3 seconds was an error code. Mine is doing the same but will not ignite the burner. Thanks.
Are those vacuum breakers mandated by code in the area you are in Steve?
"vacuum breaker" that's what it's called, thanks! I have to open the cold. flush.
👍
You don't need flex lines for the hot & cold water plus the gas line ?
no
Is that vacuum breaker code in Connecticut I haven’t really seen them down here?
its a mass code not sure about any other state
@@stevenlavimoniere Not in Colorado, but here plumbers use a lot more dope in their joints. lol
I had an electric Water heater that had a 30 year run.
👍. Never seen a vacuum breaker on a water heater. If its a Mass requirement, its as useless as the expansion tank requirement in some areas.
in mass its code ... no check valves on water meters .. so no extanks are needed but if a fire truck hooks up to water main and starts pumping hard and heavy.. with no check on water meter they can pull a vacumm and on water main and colapace the tank if it dont have a vacumm breaker
@@stevenlavimoniere Oh, that makes sense then. I didn't know that the fire hydrant lines can be shared or interconnected with potable water.
@@lon_dawg Where do you think the hydrants get the water from? They're all connected to the water mains.
They have to be connected at some point but isolated.
@@lon_dawg yes you see the water dept flushing out the water mains from the fire hydrants in summer mounts .. to keep the lines flushed and before testing is done .
Steven, is the vacuum breaker a state plumbers code? 🤔
Yes
well, you swore Ruud off a few months back during/after that gas valve $hitshow, good to see you stuck to yer guns
Has their quality declined? That old one was in for almost 22 years, dang good for gas fired.
@@Bob.W. They've been selling water heaters with known defective gas valves, then doing all they can to get out of warranty replacements...and when they do they send the same known defective valve.
@@jblyon2 ok, thx. Good to know.
Aint no pro press premadonnas over here, lol. I like Stevey Lav old school
real plumbers use a torch
Give her the ole how you doin’ 😆
Those B-W are the only kind the local licensed plumbers install around here (prolly because the supply houses keep a good stock of them). Good heaters and they last a long time!
Can I asked how much your Cost Replace that .?
In my city $1300-$2200 for a 40 gallon gas is typical
Thanks
Been using the same piece of emery cloth for ten years.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
its a few days old ..
Steve why don’t you use pans under water heaters ?
only if its on a upper floor like 2 nd floor then they are needed .by code
I always use dope and tape any more. The threads on these Chinese fittings are a shitshow
Better be careful calling the ends male and female now in these idiotic days we live in. lol. Let me see ya put together two G neutral ends. :)
should of change that old gas vaule it will leak soon !
🤫🤫 and Let it be!😎🍻
No new gas coc?
😐👍🏻🥃🥃🍺🍺🍺
Anything to make the job easier flex lines SharkBites anything they all work compression the brass to copper

ah, man we didn't get to see him dragging it up steps with Dolly. j/k Hi Miss Molly!
