Always a pleasure to see the work of a true professional like yourself. I've learned so much about how an install is supposed to be and look like. Respect to you from Philly Mr. Lavimoniere.
Hey Steve you ever try a pair of Milwaukee power shears? I love mine. Make quick work of cutting the cabinet for the return boot. Yes, they can turn and cut corners just fine. You know how these Rheems come with the bottom blower cabinet panel attached to the top of the furnace (for shipping reasons, i guess) and you have to actually relocate it to the bottom? I've ran across a few where the installer never put that bottom plate on. So when you open the lower furnace door.....you're looking at ground, lol. Some of these furnaces were elevated on bricks, so they were sucking air straight from the basement floor, bypassing the return boot. haha. I've also seen 4 inch stack pipe crushed down, feathered out, insanely crimped or just plain put over the top of the 3 inch venter outlet on these 80% Rheems. Nice install Steve!
Steve, I have an old Riello system with a tank. We stopped running it about ten years ago and got a Ranai tank less. How hard would it be to remove the tank and just run it through the radiators? Would it interfere at all with the Ranai or are the faucets and radiators of different pipes?
after seeing your videos on furnace replacements im beginning to like the Ruud furnaces alot better than the Lennox furnaces as the heat exchangers are better designed on them. as Lennox over the years had problems with certian furnaces with the curved heat exchangers and their pulse furnace. here the local Johnstone Supply don't carry Ruud. they carry Goodman, Coleman, Westinghouse and some others. and the Modine unit heaters. the Rheem/Ruud furnaces, they are made by the same company along with the water heaters. is a respective brand.
Steve ....I love watching you videos a lot of good work. I grew up in New Bedford Ma brings back good memories. What kind of camera set up do you use? tripod, under the sinks and while driving?
That grinder is quick man lol !! I have electric hand shear would have taken me twice as long lol !! I have 2 grinders and will have to try this soon.Nice work Steven !! Its going down to 4 degrees in Baltimore Maryland tonight so I am sure its much colder up in MA !!
I'm not a big fan of the blocks Steve. You should have just made a sheet metal piece to go between the coil and the furnace. It makes for a cleaner look, otherwise good work.
Steve, YOU are the MAN! Not only did you get the furnace installed - you also cleaned up well after the testing PLUS you edited and uploaded this video TODAY! So much for the cry baby "creators" on YT saying it can't be done - JUST ASK THE LAV!
Trump, first year as President, already fixed global warming lol....Thought you might have been froze in place, I saw the weather your area received ;)

In Minneapolis they make us use class B all the way to the furnace. It makes the job more difficult and expensive.
If they get any water in the basement, blocks are a good thing.
You are the best. Learned so much from you
He gave it the Gundy today!
