"Influencers" have become a topic of contention these days with regards to behavior and ethics. One such area is the promotion of Gambling services through sponsored content and livestreams.
From Jake Paul, to RiceGum. From xQc to Trainwrecks... streamers and youtubers have seemingly never been able to promote a gambling service with scamming, breaking the law, or otherwise damaging themselves or the platform they utilize.

I'm not giving you my phone number on discord. Why the fuck are you makeing it a requirement.
Does Genshin Impact Gacha system Count as gambling?
at least you're not promoting nordvpn or surfshark on a video about a gambling site that needs a vpn to connect to
What's with the giraffe?
Its shitty its in the middle of the video but ok
The whole gaming industry, streamers included, are going to keep pushing until they get all forms of gambling in games outright banned. That's just the nature of the industry.
If this was being done on purpose I would say it's a good idea, but we all know they found an inch and are taking a mile. And we all know twitch doesn't move unless forced or against a small channel.
@@ffurg8914 It's all about short-term profits at the expense of long-term stability. Investors demand constant growth, which any idiot knows is unsustainable, so corporations do whatever they can to keep showing growth until the whole industry crashes. Then the executives who caused the crash can blame it on "the economy" and keep their jobs and bonuses.
Everyone loses except the execs.
They legit do not learn, they just bide time and think people are stupid. Even the investors know it's bloody stupid since it doesn't last and open up flood gates to lawmakers. So what's the point of money? It doesn't exist and a lot of these people are just LARPing with Monopoly money
Yeah basically they work under the policy of cash in on it as fast as possible before they regulate it
It used to be taboo in the US for video games...
When I saw “sponsored influencer gambling” I first thought this was going to be about Earth 2 😂

It's honestly impressive how there are still companies willing to put ads on Twitch considering the state of the platform and meanwhile you can't even curse on UA-cam
Yeah, but don't mention the ad's that are getting put up on youtube.
Scam's, scum and s hit.
They use cursing as a reason to demonetize. What they don't tell you, is that they still run ads, the creator just doesn't get the proceedings, they keep it for themselves.

You know you can still curse all you want in comments, right? I've dropped the f-bomb numerous times in my comments and I seem to be safe for the most part. As long as it's not directly in a video you yourself upload, it seems to be fine.
@@kmdgaming6039 no apparently saying the name of one of the dudes who was part of the CSGO scandal got my comment removed over and over. Not sure if thats bots or if the channel host is deleting them. If he is, then i will happily find other channels to watch who don't censor comments.

Twitch enabling hot tub streams and gambling… why is Twitch not being struck for this?
The right people haven't followed to money. If it' just some "neckbeard" they're just an incel hating women's hustle. Even if there's most likely 13y/o on some of these channels, because I KNOW how I was and if it was just right there yeahhhhh. Noticed the number of gambling adverts increasing on UA-cam. Got one for this video
Gambling adverts, aka, almost every game in existence today.

Your methods for choosing sponsors is perfect, keep it up. I'm not personally going bald I just mean analysing your viewer demographic, it's smart.
its great for the house and the streamer
not so much on the viewer
Anything associated with or sponsored by jake paul, logan paul and rice gums, just walk away, do not engage, just walk away .

"Skinner box" + "Vicarious pleasure" = answer to your question. ^_^
Countries should limit how much money can be gambled per day to protect people and much like Belgium took a stand against loot boxes
and the UK are trying to regulate it (but its a loop hole not classed as gambling.) Also the UK regulates when gambling can be shown on TV
this is a targeted attack at younger people.
No
I don't think there is any UA-cam channel that I am subscribed to that I enjoy more than this channel right here. Every single time you post a video regardless of the topic I find myself incredibly interested and cannot help but watch to the very end. The only other channel I am subbed to that has this level of quality and interesting topics is Critikals channel.
Sports betting is everywhere, too. I get those ads pretty often even though I've never been interested in gambling. YT just seems to be throwing "sports gambling" ads into the my recommends because I occasionally watch sports videos.
Draft Kings works with the casinos and isn’t a banned overseas company. Theses are crypto and foreign casino scam sites that he’s talking about.

Meh. I mean he's got to pay the bills and there are certainly more unethical sponsorships he could take, but I just can't understand the whole idea behind being so damned scared of losing your hair that a man would spend money on some snake oil to try to stop it. I have a receding hairline and I just don't care. Big whoop. If/when it gets bad enough, I'll just shave the crap and go from there.
Big wins usually result in the prize going through a "big wins" verification process. Often the gambling sites delete their accounts and don't pay out.
Not on crypto casinos. Also reglar online casinos require by law verification that you are who u say u are. If you do not meet the requirements they wont pay.
The UFC Heavyweight Champ was just on Twitter a few days ago promoting Stake lol.

There is something you should know I feel. Loot boxes and gambling is getting out of hand even on mobile games. There is a limited run Maclaren skin in PUBGM that costs a few thousand dollars to get. The odds are ridiculous and are sponsored often by PUBGM itself.
Thank God i only spent $1 (50 philippine pesos in my country) in pubg mobile
I think the important part to mention here is that all influencers and streamers should do their due diligence before accepting gambling/ betting sponsorships. There are legitimate brands and website who are licensed and regulated in certain countries, who are legally able to acquire customers through their licensed products. Skin and lootboxes are unregulated space, You're asking for trouble if you're promoting those sites. Although, many "licensed" gambling sites are popping up as well, brands that do not care about the community of their users, they're just there for the money. If you're an influencer/streamer, I would highly suggest educating yourself with the gambling industry before accepting ANY gambling/betting sponsorships. There are alot of Do's & donts here.. There are many legitimate brands who are strictly regulated, and comply with strict rules given by the regulators. Any website that strictly promote 18+ and responsible gambling has many rules set in their system that ensures they do not breach any rules provided by their regulators.
I hope this is finally the thing that will make countries take the dangers of loot boxes seriously
This isn’t even loot boxes it’s legit gambling, crypto gambling nonetheless
XQC is just being a low life again, wake me up when something new happens
• 6:03 - They can't accept players "from United States", not THE United States. Bad grammar is the top red-flag of scams.
• 7:52 - Statements like "it's their fault for being dumb enough to fall of the scam" or "well they shouldn't have spent so much" and such are victim-blaming, which is never acceptable. As you said, it's not up to them to control their spending when they specifically design these to be addictive specifically to exploit and abuse people's (mental) DISABILITIES! 🤦
Sadly, the Google inserted ads I saw while watching this all involved online casinos.

Sending this up with maximum interaction
The term is "games of chance" or "games of luck". In the US the laws concerning this are in the resposibility of each state, in the EU usually federal. But the internet is, well, nothing of that. Thats why George W Bush tried to get to them in 2006 via payment regulation - but this was not a real success cause workarounds.
Most internet games of chance and their promotion etc. would be prohibited in Germany for example, but even the EU judges told the governments, they needed a treaty between all of the states concerned to regulate this.
So, "regulation of the internet" is not only there to take your freedoom or whatever somebody is shouting about, it is also about getting existing laws to be enforced in the digital realm to protect your little brother to be ripped off on the net.
The newest approach in European regulation tried to allow internet games of chance to a certain money limit. (Learnings from alcohol prohibition I guess, keep it in the light to control it, letting providers compete for being reputable = big mainstream money)
Every single ‘slot influencer’ needs to be thrown off UA-cam. Check out their thumbnails. It’s all ‘so exciting’ watching these grifters win the latest jackpot.
It's even more insidious because of the pundits and politicians who are pushing the message that young people are doomed and can never succeed Because "thuh patriarchy" or because "systemic oppression".
That makes the kids and teens who have been hit by that message more vulnerable to the promise of easy money if you're lucky.
Honestly, I think gambling should just be outright illegal
Well ironic getting a gambling ad ... make it double
Does Genshin Impact, a Chinese Gacha Game by Mihoyo, count as Gambling?
Kinda, yes, but when trying to get characters, the guaranteed pity system acts as a "maximum price" of sorts, so in the end you know how much the whole thing will cost you if you need to go full in, making it just a ripoff instead of a gamble. For weapons, where there's no pity system people have dropped 2-3k $ before they got the thing they were after, making the whole thing essentially a slot machine.
If you can't cash out an investment then you never "make $13,000 on CS:GO skins" this is the same thing about buying things, specifically digital only goods or physical goods like comic books or TCG and expecting someone else to buy it from you for the same price /you/ put investment into. Which in most cases, they won't. And like I said, it doesn't matter how much you trade around items unless you can cash out your "earnings" what you have is worthless, no matter how much time, effort or actual money spent and if you can't cash out your money is gone. Wasted. And you have no one to blame but yourself if you sank tens of dollars to tens of thousands of dollars and can't get it back.
Rust UA-camrs basically almost have exclusively gambling sponsorship
While I agree on the gist of it, the topic of gambling, I would much rather you not use passages like "site illegal to access". Don't give the govt the idea.

What you said about kids finding ways around is so true to me. When I was around 10 or 11 I used to play mobile games on my Ipad 3g, ancient piece by now I know lol. But I would always ask my mom to buy me stuff in these tapper crappers to speed it all up. One day I watched her punch it in and I kept spending and in a month racked up 400$ in shit. Thankfully Apple charged back the charges when they called them and I learned a valuable lesson that has served me well.

What goes through these peoples minds?? Is the fact that they're having to break the law to even get on the website not evidence enough that MAYBE this is something that should not be streamed? Who sits there and really thinks "oh yeah I should stream myself while I commit a crime"? How dense are some these people 🤦♂️
I meaaaan. UA-camrs and streamers have been advertising VPNs with the main argument being that it lets you bypass country restrictions on NETFLIX etc. I don't think anyone cares about that part...yet at least.
@@handsomebear. A lot of these morons probably aren't even aware that what they're advertising is the circumvention of international copyright law and is illegal. They're opening themselves up for legal trouble in the future, this video evidence will be archived and perhaps brought up again decades from now when the government decides to simultaneously target every single one of these violators for a fat paycheque.
Watching that guy losing thousands of dollars on some crappy casino type game on stream gives me anxiety. I hate it when people burn and waste money. I grew up with the notion that one should be careful with one's money, and even more careful with other's money. Who watches these kinds of streams? 🤢
I doubt big money shady gambling is ever "allowed" to just happen, on any platform, usually someone who could make it go away or stop it gets a cut.
And now I know who XQC really is.

I hate any advertised gambling, let alone cryptocurrency gambling. It's such a shame that they chose this, out of all the other sponsorships.
And we're supposed to be outraged by women in hot tubs on Twitch? This and the way mobile games work seems 100x worse.
Influenza Gambling is what led to the pandemic, I heard.
The games on stake are legit as they hold a UK licence (One of the strictest and most reputable licences in gambling.) The problem is stake itself owns a cheap dodgy curacao licence that bans most nations from playing on the site.
