There's something kind of funny about people donating money to a finance influencer, like surely the first thing you'd do is just not give them money and invest it instead. It's such a contradictoery business model.

Last point made about not feeling sorry for scammed people with regard to digital coinage - I agree. Had a student stop to chat after class about losing "a ton of money" to a bitcoin-ish scam. I listened and even replied to his questions up to the point where he appealed for me to commiserate with him and I said no. He was shocked. I told him I have seen the following pattern for too long to care anymore: (1) This person wants money but also does not want to work for that money. (2) this person finds a "get rich quick" sales pitch and goes all in. (3) This person is not broke (not rich) and has fewer assets than those at point (1). I just can't feel sorry for these people who actively and willingly convert their own greed into remorse.
I mean, I can feel sad that they made that decision and wish they chose otherwise (and thus wish better for them.) But you can feel that for even the most vile of evils.
I'm a forex trader and am actively embarassed to say it because of all of those fx scams, now they moved to crypto. People just don't recognize the same BS over and over it's not that hard, everytime they show off a lambo and rolex major red flags, anytime they promise quick easy money another major red flag. This type of scam has been going for decades if not centuries and people are just greedy and lazy and so they fall for those scams. To me if you're an idiot that falls for this type of shit after all of scams being the same thing over the years then you deserve it and have too much money on your hands.

You'd probably call some kid who invested in Microsoft or Amazon when they were nothing... if those companies failed you'd call it a scam. It's not "not working for their money", it's just taking high risk to try and get more out of it. That's like saying investing into a 401k isn't working for their money.

You do realise many of these UA-camrs who make these videos are into crypto? There's a huge difference between something like Bitcoin vs Ethereum/BNB smart contracts (where most of the scams occur.) It's fine to avoid, it's not for everyone, but at least understand that all these people telling you how scary crypto is are into it themselves.

Nobody is perfect, though - always best to do your own research. Also the SEC is not doing their jobs... at protecting people or markets - except maybe the established banks/markets. Bitboy had been fairly reactive, of late - maybe the last year or 18 months. I guess the stress was getting to him. That does not excuse any of his behavior, though it would seem there is plenty of that to go around - with all "Influencers".

Well, that escalated.
During the 2021 bull run, I was new to crypto and he was the first one I started watching. Learned a lot of good stuff from him and his team and bought some bitcoin, ETH, and others. He honestly helped me make a good bit of money, maybe due to the fact I never bought any of the tokens he promoted. I didn’t trust him 100% and wasn’t willing to purchase a lot of the coins he was promoting, and instead went with my own intuition based off of personal research I did, he wasn’t the only channel and source I was watching. He had some good calls during the bull run and it helped me make good sells and lots of money. That still doesn’t excuse any of this behavior. I would have never supported his channel if I knew this was the type of person he was.
