As a beginner, this lesson (and its part 1companion) really cleared a lot of music theory fog for me, as well as giving me some fun new ways to drive my neighbors crazy. I really appreciate your teaching style, very rigorous but not tedious. Thanks to you from Kansas.
Geo J Adrian, where have you been all my life. I have learned more from you in two lessons than in many many other lessons. Quite excellent . What an outstanding young teacher
This is the power chord lesson I needed! Thank you very much for the alternate power chord tips. Very helpful indeed. 🙌🏼 my new favorite guitar channel‼️
Hello Adrian, this two part lesson, covering every conceivable power chord formulation known to mankind, is the best compilation that I have ever seen! I have watched it several times, from beginning to end, and it is absolutely the best work on the subject that I have ever found.. You are like mild mannered Clark Kent, or Peter Parker, who is ready to spring into action, as either Superman or Spider-Man, in order to save all of us mere mortal guitarists everywhere, from a life without the strength of a full understanding of Power Chords!! Thank You for your incredible talent, and ability to share your knowledge with all of us, in a very simple and easy to understand presentation! The final stroke of genius was the demonstration of the 'Worlds Most Dangerous Power Chord '!! Simply Amazing!! Thank you so very much, the world is now a much better place, for everyone!! Lary
I have ran across your video a couple of times now , you make everything look so easy , you are a very smart man and very nice of you to share what is not easy , I appreciate all of your knowledge you share , thank ya kindly
Thanks, really good lesson. And great timing. I sort of accidentally figured out some of the inverted ones just over the weekend, but this really helped me understand it.
Thanks for that last dangerous chord. Not so hard, I just surgically added another finger to my hand. Expensive but worth it. Great lesson. Thanks very much.
The “Eric Johnson” shape could also have a ringing open note added when playing certain chords. Doubling a root or fifth bass note on a different gauge string. This really rings out, adds texture and accents that note.
Here i thought i knew about power chords. And then we start with the inversions and Eric Johnson fingerings. More tools for the toolbox. They force me to improve my muting, and I have a feeling committing these "alternates" to muscle memory is going to help ground my soloing in the chord i'm soloing over.
You look like someone who is always getting number 1 in the classroom and looks like you're often bullied but the world is often mistaken and I'm so. people like you who are shocking the world with your talent and knowledge you have not all there .. great job man thank you for tutoring !
Im sure the neighbours look relieved when he moves in.He looks like the son of a vicar, but then, after dark,in comes the vox amplifiers, and gibsons.....Hes good tho;)
I'll never have to purchase over the counter sleeping aids again. It's free! Right here as a part of this lesson! Opinions, and assholes. My bad. Thanks for taking the time to make this lesson. Sincerely.
The last spider chords, amazing I feel sorry for your neighborhoods maybe you scary them, thanks for your knowledge, is very important that information, im going to practice
It's a pity you don't have more subscribers and views, because I honestly think you are much better than many others who produce "sexier" videos, but don't manage to really explain certain techniques such as power chords well.
Hi good video can you please talk about the strumming of power chords. When you mute the 6th string playing a 5th string root power chord does it matter if we hit the 6th string or is it better to make shore to hit the 5th string thanks
leaving out the note that determines major or minor (the third) is what makes it a power chord. A power chord is just the root (the not that gives the chord the name) & the fifth. Sure, if you repeat the root on the 4th string it will look like an e-minor shaped barre chord, but you are only playing strings 6,5 & 4. The third that makes the difference between the e minor & major shapes/chords would be played on the 3rd string.
+What I Left Haha, yes, completely overlooked that particular technique! I'd need to practice before attempting a lesson on that I think. Difficult and dangerous indeed.
Great Job Adrian. Ive been playing for many years but im teaching my 12 yr old daughter. Your show helped us out alot. Ive rarely taught people so getting tips and seeing how you basically run a class type was impressive. Keep up the good job. I love your gear as well. Dont see many Vox guitars here in the US. Awsome amplifiers too. Cheers
Grebenje trzalice kad se sporo svira je užasno tješi se sviranjem prstima i duplim štopom trzalice na jagodicama prstiju ako sluša vaše pokrete morate biti odmorni i uspoređivajte uspjeh večer jutro vikend odmor sritno

Amazing. I hope you’re getting credit for being one of the best teachers on the web.
there are lots of lessons on power chords on UA-cam but this is definitely the best one, because when Adrian is at something, he makes it exhaustive!
Newbie here and just want to echo what others have said, Adrian, that your explanations are very clear and helpful.

7:37 "Smoke on the Water" sounds great the way you play it, and the way your rig is set up! Ah, simple pleasures...
Excellent teaching style. Looks like I need to sit my butt down and practice.

Awesome lesson
This is so valuable!
Brilliant thanks for the help, good teacher. You got another subscriber
That's an impressive stretch on that last voicing. Feel like I'd need to get a much shorter scale guitar to be able to pull that off.
Made me smile at the end 😁😁😁

Great lesson I'm glad I found this guy
As far as I'm concerned, as a newbie playing for 3 months, he is the best online (and I've watched a bunch).
Thank you for all your help, you are amazing

8 years late to the party here but what a great lesson !

Can you go into more detail how to play Smoke? I'm new and can't work out the chords.
Nice.
How is it that the D5 power cord on the 5th fret isn't an a minor? its the same shape
leaving out the note that determines major or minor (the third) is what makes it a power chord. A power chord is just the root (the not that gives the chord the name) & the fifth. Try a lesson on those spider chords that Dave Mustaine came up with. They're difficult and dangerous too! :-)
+What I Left Haha, yes, completely overlooked that particular technique! I'd need to practice before attempting a lesson on that I think. Difficult and dangerous indeed.
Awesome would you be able to send me power cords on tab mate
is it possible to play a power chord and move one finger with minimal movement to get a major or minor chord
It would be nice if you can draw it on a white board Thanks
3 disgruntled neighbours gave this a thumbs down;(
21:00
I suppose Billy Gibbons is all about power chords?
"bone-crunching rock riffs" 😅
I wish u were my neighbor lol
AC/DC say hello
