- My dog loves to go for car rides, but he can be a little distracting as I am driving. So I came up with a great idea to help with this.
I hope you can make something similar to aid in your travels with your dog.

I love a big chunk of the ideas you have, however, I see an issue with this in the event you are rear-ended badly - you hope this never happens, however distracted drivers are only growing in numbers. All this wood near your head and neck could really take you out of this game we call Life. Not to mention, your 4-legged best friend could be propelled into it, and No One wants that.
This particular DYI scored points on low cost and easy build but fails to be the wise choice when it comes to being safe. This item I found costs more but makes sure no one gets hurt in an accident: Bushwhacker - Paws n Claws Deluxe Dog Barrier (not an endorsement, just putting out a better alternative.) Never stop inventing my friend, love your life hacks
My little dogs are attached to the seat belts with a harness. If it is too sunny, they can get on a pillow between the seats. Your frame is a good idea, though.
Great idea! Haha, never thought I'd hear of a "lick barrier" though.
Our dog loves car rides as well ; but we welcome those surprise cheek licks & kisses. Happy driving guys!🐾🐾👍
Thank you very much
You may want to cut the bolt flush to the nut and sand off the burrs to remove any poking hazards.
Good point (pun intended) thank you for the suggestion
Great idea! Love the Lincoln!❤️🐾
Good idea!
Cute idea, but looks more of a hazard in case of accident than the benefit is worth. A mesh barrier is much safer for the dog and driver, theyre cheap and easy to find.
Great job; just please turn the pivot screw around so Sir Lincoln doesn’t get hurt by it. Awesome channel BTW!
FANTASTIC!! This is so cool it's crazy.
Funny question: why didn't I think of that? Great job 👍🏻👍🏻. God bless & great health.
Thank you so much
I saw the video where you/y'all were in Monroe LA. You were like 30-35 miles down I-20 from my house👍🏻🇺🇸⚜️
That’s awesome! Thank you. Lincoln is so cute! 😹😹😹💝🥰
Instead of paracord to secure it to the head rest, how about zip ties. You can pull the head rests off the seat when you need to remove it. I made one of these years ago when I had a big dog, I just use pvc pipe and made a frame and just used chicken wire and put it across the frame. Then zip tied it to the head rests. Mine was 2’ high and I made it just the width of the car. If you cut down the inside of the pvc frame you can slide the chicken wire inside the frame and use zip ties to secure the chicken wire so it doesn’t come out. Make sure the put the latch end of the zip ties on the inside of the frame that way it won’t scratch up the inside of your car. Then just glue the over frame together so it won’t come apart and it’s done.
That's a very impressive idea, Sounds like it would work very well. Thank you for the suggestion.
@@SpecificLove7 it’s yours if you wanted to make a video of it. I got the idea from window screens. The old kind made with wood frames. The screen wire sat in channels in the wood frame.
Pivot with an overlap and a bolt/cotter pin.
That barrier may also keep him from flying through the windshield in an accident.
That is a very good point!
I think Lincoln gives that two paws down.
great idea, but isnt a safety belt cheaper and safer for the dog😀😀😀
I love that this community has other ideas.
I think that’s you said we were going for a drive 😂
My only concern for the device is that it may block the rearview mirror. Other than that, this device that you have created looks kind of like Angs Avatar air glider. XD
ThIs is a good idea with one glaring problem. The screw and wing nut need to be turned around because it is a hazard if you need to hit the brakes suddenly.
Good point thank you for the call out
This cross thing from the screenshot looks like a dog carrier (Google "cat carrier joke")
Tbh , i think this idea is bad because of the straight edges on both sides , because if yr dog was too slip etc , or you slam on yr breaks etc , the dog could actually hurt themselves on this structure .....but this is just my opinion
Very good and fun video. I just hate wet/runny/cold nose drive kisses, as I have enough problems paying attention to my driving. I put my wife in the back seat also.
Nope, you didn’t take me anywhere and I’m not getting out til you do.
LOL!!
All dogs are lap dogs. You just don't have enough lap.
LOL, my wife would agree
*May need to use steel in place of wood for Rotties*. :)
