The weekend in the mountains chasing rainbows sounds much more appealing to me that a football game anyway.. if I was Debra, I’d gladly miss the game.
Same. I honestly would rather give my ticket to someone who would actually enjoy it because going to the Superbowl sounds like Hell on Earth to me, but he'd better hold up to his promise of going to the mountains to look at rainbows if for nothing else than the fact that it sounded like Debra was saying they hadn't been a trip together for a while.
That is the conclusion that my wife and I would have most likely come to, but I still would have asked her first if she wanted to go with me to the super bowl.

I wouldn't want him to take me when it's not really my thing. If I was a huge football fan than yeah definitely but I'm not so I'd rather go somewhere together when he got back, somewhere special. I personally don't think he should have invited Johnny, he should have taken his Dad, would have been way more special

Not sure why this show lasted so long. Most of the family were really shitty people. Especially Raymond who was a weakling mommas boy and always left his wife out to get hurt badly. Just all pathetic.

What's truly funny is that his parents live right across the street, so why go out the back door? I know, I know it's easy for the writers to create different points of entry for characters to enter a scene. Many shows are guilty of this as well. STILL an entertaining sitcom.
The only logical inshow explanation could be they don't live across the street but shifted to the left so it is not that big of a detour.
A lot of people have family come in through the back. My wife's cousin never has us come through the front...
Yeah, I always found that distracting that someone coming from across the street always conveniently comes in the door where the scene is already happening. It's far more realistic for someone to walk into an empty room, ask "Anyone here?" and people call from another room. But I guess they just didn't want to waste time on that since each episode is only like 23 minutes...

If you hate Ray, it means that he did his character well, because Ray Barone was a character.
I think the people who gave Ray the Super Bowl tickets should have told him that everyone was bringing their wives. It's their fault that Ray was put in the awkward situation at the hotel.
Ray was the only smart one.
I personally believe Ray made the right choice in taking Gianni coz he knew his family would be upset if he chose anyone over the other. And again Debra only adding to Rays problems. I’m not defending Ray coz he’s a selfish whiny mommas boy (another argument for me hating Debra) but this time he made the right choice.
Everybody brought his wife except Ray, he definitely didn't made the right choice.

I mean the superbowl is something you should go too if you can appreciate it debra is just not that into it he should have just brought his father or brother and make them compete for it somehow like babysitting etc.

@@dreadflint because Ray, and indeed Robert have both been brainwashed by Marie to be totally dependent on their mother. We’re talking Russian military level mind control here. To break that cycle they both need professional help. Debra yelling at Ray all the time really does not help and just drives him back to Marie. In the real world Marie would be arrested for what she’s done to her sons.
Also, Debra is just a cnut. She admitted she thinks she’s better than the rest of the family, even going so far as to insult and hurt Frank’s feelings, her only real defence against Marie. She grudges taking care of Ray when he’s sick, AND couldn’t stand the fact that when she and Ray did that IQ test that Robert showed them, Ray was seen to be smarter and she couldn’t stand that. I just think she’s a horrible person.
There is one moment however in the series that proves my point about her. The episodes where Marie and Debra aren’t talking after Marie brings her friends over to hear the twins tell a joke, Debra says no coz it’s bath time (Debra 100% in the right here), the part where Ray is trying to get them to talk again, he asks Debra to be the bigger person and end it, he asks her to do it for him and the look she gives him was ice cold. That right there sums Debra up for me. She’s just horrible to Ray.

I must confess I am a mama’s boy like Raymond. I respect my mother and I live to make her happy. I style her hair, do her makeup and dress her in the most stylish outfits and swimsuits. I know I’m a pushover but it is not easy to say no. My wife sometimes gets annoyed with me

Debra is mean. Why did she get married to Ray?
Flashbacks show she was very sweet, into him and encouraged him. I think the turning point was moving across the street from his parents. Over time they stripped away her positivity and she got mean being stuck with them and their insanity. I think her rant in the angry family episode to the teacher explained this.
Many couples are married and act worse than Ray & Deborah, it's their personality differences , but the love is still alive.
Once you get to a certain age you come to realize you're better off learning to live with someone, or settle yoir differences. Because lord knows there's no way in hell you'll ever find someone else past a certain age.
