Doctor you have a very pleasant disposition. You let your intelligence and passion show through your word choice and manner of speaking. You’re a great role model and your videos are always so interesting and educational. Thanks for making amazing videos!
Great tips Dr Niamtu. Im performing my 6th bichectomy today and just as you said, sometimes it pops out immediately but other times it gets really complicated. Im sure this extra tips will come handy. Thanks a lot 👍🏼
Dr. Niamtu, you have made me the incisions in two different places in the cheeks. On the right side, you do it below the parotid duct. I got confused, but thankyou anyway. You are very kind in sharing your knowledge.
I loved your tips; a dentist here in Brazil talks a lot about her signature "micro-bichectomy" and I always wondered if she accessed the fat pad through a puncture and then use the suction tip to remove it. Thank you very much, you have revealed her technique. LOL
What a brilliant video Doctor. I love all of your videos. Surgery is so interesting. Amazing to be able to watch these procedures that can be done. You are very modest when explaining how you do your procedures. Which makes you 1 in a millionaire. I appreciative you taking time out of your busy schedule share your knowledge.
great tips Dr joe yesterday was just doing a 3rd molar extraction and suddenly the fat pad is showing first time but it was a great experience to start with
Hi doc I had a bad experience, my doctor couldnt find the fat pad in my right cheek. So he took out only one side. Is there a way to see through images if I have a right bucal fat pad and where it is located? Thanks.
You probably do have one, she just could not locate it which can happen. An MRI would show it, but probably just going to an experienced surgeon it could be located.
Hi Doctor. Loved your video! One question: on the video, on the removal of the right fat pad it looks like you did your incision a little lower than on the left side. Is this an effect of the viewing angle on the video, or is it a desicion the surgeon makes based on the palpation of the fat pad before the incision?

Hi doctor. Is there any way to detect beforehand how much fat someone has underneath before deciding to remove/reduce it? My face is almost comically round because of poor midface/chin size and I'm considering this procedure as well as chin augmentation.
It is a very subtle result. Young patients with full cheeks are best candidates. The result is not big enough to cause sagging or make someone look older unless grossly overdone.
Hi doctor I was wondering, why isn’t the fat completely removed? I see you leave some behind. And if it is the case is it possible to remove all the fat ?
I think we should start removing noses, small nose looks better on women but they stiill look like pigs so no nose would be better for sure. Japanese often draw faces without noses so there must be something to it. What do you think doctor Joe? I think this is an untapped market.

Very interesting!! Is the buccal fat pad what gives us our "jowls?" Loved how you found the pad INSTANTLY in hoth examples!! Cheers from 🇨🇦
Thanks for watching
Joe Niamtu you didn’t answer the question. I had the same question as BJ. hoping you’d reply. Thank you.
No. Buccal fat pad is superior to the jowls. It’s fairly obvious in the video. Plus the Dr said it is at the level of the second molar.
Thanks doctor for sharing your knowledge. As a medical student I apreciate a lot :-) I love your videos.
Thanks so much for watching.

Micro removal would be a minimal result.
thanks for sharing amazing video dear Dr Joe Niamtu.
My pleasure

Yep, sometimes you only find it when you don't want to:)
Are there 2 sides? One on each side of the mouth? And why is this done? Love the video and your instructions. Very educational. Thank you!!!
Yes, there is a fat pocket on both sides. It is done to slim the face on selected patients. Thanks for watching
The fat popping out and then truncated is so satisfying to watch lol
Glad you liked it :)
Hi doctor how much cost $… costs to remove the buccal fat !

Great video! I would like to ask you if the buccal fat gets regenerated after a while after you remove it! Thanks in advance!
Not often in my experience, but over time could happen

Hi doctor.
Is there any way to detect beforehand how much fat someone has underneath before deciding to remove/reduce it? My face is almost comically round because of poor midface/chin size and I'm considering this procedure as well as chin augmentation.
MRI can show how much fat there is, but usually patients with full faces have more fat. Every case is different.
Wow this is crazy
Thanks for watching
Hi Dr. Thanks for the video..is this procedure recommend it for a woman of 45?
Age does not matter, is more of a faction of if you have fullness in that region.

Can you do that operation under LA?
Yes you can, but I do all with sedation.
Greate tips 🙏
Glad it was helpful!
Who is the good candidate for this? Does it cause more sagging or look older?
It is a very subtle result. Young patients with full cheeks are best candidates. The result is not big enough to cause sagging or make someone look older unless grossly overdone.
Hi doctor I was wondering, why isn’t the fat completely removed? I see you leave some behind. And if it is the case is it possible to remove all the fat ?
So you don't over treat the patient.
Why does one get buccal fat removed?
Some people do it to slim their cheeks.
Hi Doctor,
Why do yo do the incision higher on one side than on the other one?
Thank you and love from Spain!
Thanks for watching. I think I was demonstrating different approaches
Is the buccal fat branch the same regardless of the different incisions?
The treatment is usually the same regardless of what type of incision.
I have a question dr., After buccal fat was removed, there is posibility to have that buccal fat pad again or it will be gone permanantly?
The fat that is removed will not come back. The existing fat cn grow with weight gain.
Hi how much does it cost the procedure?
Fees are under patient info www.lovethatface.com
docto, can the fat grow back if i gain extra weight after this surger
Removed fat cells won't grow back, but new fat can form in the area from existing fat.
Where are you located dear doctor?
Richmond, Virginia
Doctor would u treat Fordyce spot on lips i want ur appointment
I don't do that, thanks for watching.
Hi dr. Thanks for the video, in which one of thistechinques you think that the patient doesnt get to much inflammation ?

IT can be done with local but most patients like light sedation.
