Had a friend whose hobby was checking the licence plates of cars that featured in porn films - a positive identification would help him determine the location and when the film was done (as well as checking businesses and street signs on Google Maps). He told me that he wasn’t the only person who does this :-)
I have always liked European plates. Some of the license plates here in the United States look like they were drawn by a 5 year old. I also like the fact that they (Europe) does not allow vanity plates. Here in the U.S., the practice has gotten really ridiculous.
Some, but not all, European countries do actually allow vanity plates. We call them personalised plates. And they have to fit a certain pattern, E.G. in UK, they have to keep the letters and numbers as letters and numbers, which forces a bit of creativity.
@@davidbaker4942 In Switzerland, only numbers are allowed from 1 to 999999. Custom plates are not a thing, you can only try to get a low number, e.g. BE 1. BE stands for the canton of Bern and 1 being the number.
I don’t have an opinion really on custom plates (I have no care for them) but one thing I’ve always loved about the US number plates is the colour and creativity. For example the Wyoming plate and how it has the desert and a cowboy and horse on it.
Well, Belgium has a huge vanity plate business, but they do have to apply to regulations regarding the design and format. But anything is permitted as long as it does not conflict an existing plate and is limited to 8 symbols. It'll cost you 1000 euros.
German font (and other similar) are stupid, it looks like when you writte your CV and you use comic sense as main font. 😀Czech is the best, super simple and easy to read font and no stupid national symbols around. And cyrillic countries, even when it's written in latin letters, it still feels like cyrillic. 😀

I used to look for cars from different countries irl lol.
As an Irishman I’m a bit chuffed at how our number plate has the year on it which is very rare on number plates.
Also British plates have the year on it too 😊
I think the year is a terrible thing as it enables a lot of snobbery
Is croatia require a person to return old plate number after registration is finish?
Where are the plates for Gibraltar (GBZ - G1234F), Isle of Man (GBM - MAN 123U), Guernsey (GBG - 12345), or Jersey (GBJ - J12345)?
Or Alderney?
@@mrreddiamond8868 those are islands (except Gibraltar) so they don’t really have plates LMAO
@@themurderer8697 They do have their own plates. Please, next time do some research instead of appearing dumb.
@@mrreddiamond8868 They are just some islands lol

Armenia, Georgia, Cyprus, Azeria, Turkey are in Western Ásia! Kazakia in Ásia! What about Faroé Islands? Gibraltar?
Both of Albania's and Italy's licence plates are a bit too similar...

@@kavelab699 In Switzerland, they know why they don't allow that, because everyone is rich and everyone would have that if it was legal. 😀
Vatican has exceptional tabulas without country exponents😃

I live there
What about UK? They have GB with Eu flag on it still.
they are phased out....I think there's 10 year limit after brexit that they have to be replaced
Slovenian here, I like all but Vatican city's plate. This one doesn't look very specific.
They don't need to. They have like 10 cars.
If u go to Greece the half cars have anti-european plates
what does that mean?
They crossed out the stars?
bruh
In small countries, license plates with three letters and three numbers should be sufficient.
У всех сокращённое название страны слева, и только в России справа🗿

Why is Switzerland displaying a fascist symbol?
because they don't give a fuck
That's the coat of arms for the canton of St. Gallen.
since when Georgia and Azerbaijan are in Europe?!
