Is NOW the Time to STACK Silver Eagles?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 25 чер 2024
- In this video I talk about American Silver Eagle Coin and if now is a good time to stack them or not. If you are a silver stacker and you have been silver stacking for some time then you know the premiums on silver eagle coins went through the roof in 2023. The silver eagle coin premiums went up because the mintages for the American silver eagles tanked. The mintages for the silver eagles have picked up now and the premiums are now lower on the American silver eagle coins. The 2024 silver eagles will be coming out soon and we now know the location of the security feature on the 2024 American silver eagle coins. I think that now is a good time to be buying silver eagles once again because the premiums are back under 20%. I will be stacking more silver eagles personally. Here is the chart I show in the video:

That premium finally getting back to normal 🤓
Yeah! It's nice to see. Hope it drops some more, I'd love to get some older ones though. While the new reverse is nice, I love the old more. :)
MR. ASE Chart is my vote for the name! Lol
(Missing Reed American Silver Eagle.)
...Yes, I know I'm reaching for the name for the chart. Hahaha
that is super good I like it! @@calebfast8088
Silver on the path to $20.60 area,
then it will be a buy,
for a move to $28-30 area.
Write it down, its coming.
The best for me,Silver Maples 🍁
I still love my 2018 and newer maples haha
@SilverDragons47 I'm a Canadian and only started stacking 3 months ago got 2023 maples 100 of them. The beautiful and fun, plus my sovereign coin.I got 200 buffalo's for weight, good price too
I really like the American Silver Eagles. Just reached my goal this year of 200 ounces. Good video thanks for sharing.
I'm at 144 I'm getting there
KEEP IT UP I HAVE 70,000 ASE'S IN MINT MONSTER BOXES ALONE. BEEN BUYING SINCE 1986 TWO BOXES EACH YEAR 1986-2024. I ALSO HAVE 600+ RARE DATE LOW MINTAGE PROOF MINT STATE BURNISHED REVERSE PROOF ENHANCED PROOF SLABBED CERTIFIED ASE'S.
Silver Dragons, just picked up 40 more ASE’s myself, today!
Thank you for a great vid and for posting the security feature chart.
With was very helpful and also quite interesting. Thanks for this video!
I always grab ASE when they are part of Doc's deals at SD!!!
smart move!
Would be nice if Eagles started implementing actual security features, like Britannias and Maples.
true that but the US Mint is IMO not going to make any more updates for quite some time unfortunately
What do you mean? They already have microchips embedded in them.
Thats factually incorrect...
@@FlightTactics What you are saying is factually correct. What I was saying was an attempt at a joke.
@@Portlandpreciousmetals Oh I see, sorry.
Great info on the 2024 ASE and the Graph, it definitely helps. Thank You Sir. THE SARGE
you are very welcome!
Great video brother nice stack merry Christmas 🎄🎁
thank you and Merry Christmas!
Any silver eagles under $30 a coin deserves a closer look. We were there in 2023 and are there now.
Cool ASE security chart, thanks for sharing! Yeah but watching them Libertads...👀
It’s always a good time to stack eagles! Buying an eagle every now and then regardless of the price shouldn’t hurt, just apply dollar cost averaging to them. -DS
yeah DCA is a good strategy for sure
Girl math 😂😂😂😂
I say yes. Ordered a tube of 20 today from Costco, $549.99
wow crazy to hear costco sells them now!
With large purchases like this I don't even bother with silver. I get gold.
@@Patrick-kt5mc how is this large? A full ounce is 2k, and I don’t buy fractional gold. I buy full ounces or silver….
The Premiums are not only a DISGRACE----it's actually ILLEGAL for the Mint to be charging that much. Bix Weir did a great job calling out the Mint on this.
oh for the proof? I agree
I would stack eagles, but my focus is halves, Walking Liberty, Franklins, 1964 JFK's.
yeah gotta get that junk silver stack first
They are beautiful coins
That added premium keeps me away from Silver Eagles. I'd rather bars
It's nice to see the premium on these come down from nose bleed territory. I'm still not sure if I'll be buying more but at least if I decide to I can. Thanks!
yeah the premiums were pretty bad for a while
This episode felt like an early Christmas present 🎁 Can’t wait til the next one! Happy holidays to you and your family Silver Dragons!!
im glad to hear that Merry Christmas!
Definitely a time to buy Eagles. There Worth a few extra bucks. Happy Holidays Stackers and Silver Dragons 🥈🥈🥈🥈🥈🌲🌲🌲🌲🦌🎅
Merry Christmas!
Appreciate the video what camera do you use silver dragon ?📈🇿🇦
just an iphone
I think that it's definitely Important to understand and know where the security features on ASEs from 2021 to present are located
for sure I hope my chart helps
Pimbex has been pretty consistently selling these at about a four buck premium, so went after those pretty hard. Glad to see Doc joining that party! Eagles at less than $29? Gotta love that!
yeah I love the sales!
with the premiums coming down, I started buying some Eagles again.
I've been stacking 4 about 8 months,
Have a few rcm 10 oz bars, pan american, a tube of maples, and some singles, no rounds yet,
I tried to get a silver eagle a month ago, was very hard to find.
Finally found 1, was 60.00 cad, crazy high premium, but I just had to have 1. They are awesome to look at and hold.. it was like an itch I couldn't scatch until I had the type 2.
My new craving is buffalo rounds.
My 4 grandkids have maple leaf 1oz silver coins under the tree 4 Christmas, very curious as 2 their reaction when they c them.
Merry Christmas and keep stackin stackers..great video as usual.
Merry Christmas!
1k likes baby!!!!
I have a tube of Eagles so I'm good for now.
I have enough silver and gold to wait until the next spot collapse.
All depends on price. If I can buy an ASE for $2-3 more than a buffalo round, then yes. If the spread is higher, I would stick with rounds. Remember that rounds will go for less when selling them back.
great point!
Indeed it is I’ve been stacking as long as it’s $28 and under.but it’s hard to say no to a 10 oz bar at 255 or 260.
I love the Eagles, they are the easiest to get rid of if needed. I did buy on that SD Bullion Sale.
true that easy to offload if you ever need to
The missing reed is an index mark to index the coin into a scanning machine.
The optical scanner will scan a specific section of the coin's molecular structure...individual to each coin, like a fingerprint.
In the event that we go to a Bi-metal system and silver is revalued, the system will be to deposit your coin in the bank who scans for authenticity, then use an electronic debit card against it to make change for items purchased.
This will be necessary since silver and gold will be revalued to 1000x their current spot value.
Such a beautiful site !
If premiums continue to stay the same or get better than I'll definitely be getting my first tube of Eagles next year
glad to hear it! hopefully they get better
I also like the silver eagle. I found one in the classifieds today that sold me 9 pieces. I picked them up here in my city in Germany for 234€ ($256) so 26€ ($28.46) a piece, the coins The ones I bought today are from the years 1986-1994 and are in perfect condition. We also often have silver eagles in the pawn shop here, but I find them a bit expensive at 29€ ($31.74) each and the coin dealers even want 30-31€ ($32.83-33.93) which is too extreme for me, which is why I buy them I always privately go to flea markets and classified ads for 25-27€ ($27.36-29.55)
wow not bad at all just make sure they are real!
Yep I am buying ASE’s
Greetings from Russia! Very good silver coins
Good luck in the meeting, . Of course, come visit
no
Love silver eagles, wished I bought more when I bought them for $16 each.
yeah cheapest I got were just under $17
@@SilverDragons47 Yeah, that was the time to load up. I only bought 200 ozs, should've bought at least 500 then.
i wanna know is the silver australian bars on amazon close to silver bar spot? their abot 40$ a bar. What are your honest thoughts?
These are avail for 3.99 over spot rn if you look. That isnt bad considering mint to cost to bullion dealers is 2 dollars. Grab a roll if you are ok with the silver price.
I just bought a baker's dozen of em. I'm more into bullion than coins, but I like U.S. Mint coins, and they were on sale.
Hearing about the tens of millions of silver coins being minted all the time... it makes me think the price of silver will never skyrocket. It's just so common. Silver really isn't very rare at all, is it? Nothing like gold.
Commenting to hear the responses. I'm also curious about this
Yeah but look up how much silver the world used in 2023 / i’ll save you time 1.14 billion ounces
Which 2021 Eagle design is worth more?
Are Canadaian Maple Leafs better to stack or not?
Now that the premiums have normalized, I will stack them.
Yeah not much of a security feature compared to maples or britannia's however I just bought a tube of "off quality" American silver eagles from hero and for the same for the same price as I could have got new maples. They turned out to be 2004 and they were all beautiful to my eye except for two had some fingerprints couple stunning toners in the batch also so definitely worth the gamble thanks as always Mr Dragons
wow yeah the off quality can be pretty nice from time to time well done!
No, because silver is always 20-something dollars an ounce, while the value of the dollar always goes down.
Pils and piles of silver at my LCS
I live in Minnesota , I am watching premiums at the shops and they coming down here , but I am still seeing as high as $7 or $8 over spot , the best price I have seen was $5 over spot not including cull ASEs . Here it doesn't seem to matter what year as much as on-line . Not including Pawn Shops , there are about 10 Precious metal shops across the state , in my travels I have been to most of them recently . Once I start seeing $4 over I will start buying ASEs again . I have not purchased one in about 2 years now because I knew even if I hold them for 25 years I would not get that premium back . I AM WAITING PATIENTLY DRAGON ., I no longer buy on-line , ( I just prefer not to anymore for personal safety ). Thanks for the vid
yeah I hear that Minnesota prices tend to be higher
Of course, it is.
The video is completely a promotional video for SD Bullion
especially where I tell people to buy from the cheapest place and locally as well lol
With sd' s sale yes, 3.99 above spot? He'll yes I ordered 10.
Nope. I can get 22 generic buffalos or canadian maple leafs for the price of 20 eagles.
Exactly, American Eagles are way overrated & overpriced. When it comes to selling them, you almost never get what you paid for them. Most of the time, you barely get spot for AE’s. What’s the point when I can buy a Maple Leaf for a much lower premium & sell it at/around spot. The premiums on AE’s are never worth it, even now. I’d take the most commonly traded bullion coin (Maple Leaf) there is over AE’s any day.
It’s all about where you buy. Costco had tubes of 20 for sale today for $549.99
Eagles all day
@@HJuice23please post the link.
Didn't even show silver eagles on their website...@@HJuice23
We can buy a tube of Silver Eagles in OKC, OK for $575.
I’ve starting stacking silver (I’m in the UK) and the premiums seem way higher for silver than they do in the US. I don’t know if I’m looking in all the wrong places!? I have no local coin shops, second hand stores like cash converters tend to sell silver for at least double spot which is insane. Online I struggle to find less than a 25% premium over spot
yeah gold sovs seem like one of the best things to stack across the pond.
My lcs has back date fore 3.50 over
I don't own any ASE's. Not feeling like it's a huge loss.
Is there any explanation why the American Silver Eagle coins are not marked with 999 silver fineness? Almost all other coins have a fineness of 999 or 9999.
So makes the most money off that high premium? The US mint?
no the authorized purchasers
When premiums were high, I just didn't buy as many Silver Eagles as I would have liked to. But, whether spot price goes up or down and premiums are high or low, I still have my stack.
Hopefully you don’t need to become mobile. I’ll be carrying ammo, not silver.
@@grumpynomad3551 That'd be when you bury the Silver and hope you can come back for it, right?
Some are worth more like the 96 because of low mintage year
you are correct the 1996 is the key date for eagles and 1997 is the key date for maples although premiums on these dates tend to be much higher if you seek them out.
my local coin shop sells them for 28
I bought 20 silver eagles when it was 27.47$ each
2023 ASEs are just okay. I still prefer the older coins. Premiums are higher on the older versions too. Not exactly clear on why.
Still not so cheap here in Europe, but the differences between other bullion are much smaller than before.. I like ASE as they are not so susceptible to milk spots as Maples and Kangaroos.. so the extra premium is kinda worth it.. the cheapest bullion is still Philharmonic though.
Do you primarily stack silver? Or do you stack gold as well?
Eagles make more sense in the USA as many states are passing legal tender legislation and so far most specify US Govt minted coins.
In general, Silver Maples are the best choice in Europe.
I like the phils but the do spot quite a bit
@@Jackaroo. 95% silver, i started only a couple of years ago.. I’d love to buy more gold, but they’re at their highest price these days
Why buy AE as to Buffalos, with a lower premium?
coins usually have a higher buyback price
Silver is Silver the rest is just a big deal over nothing
I was getting them silver eagles for $19 not that long ago wish I would’ve bought more
buy now or you will have the same regret in 5 years
Eagles have been a ripoff for so long (yes they drop here and there)
But it’s lately been more difficult than ever to justify the premiums!
I remember the ole days of 1-2 more dollars than anything else!
ASE bullion are a hard pass. The best selling 1 oz silver in my exp. is the Sunshine Mint Rounds. ASE's command a too high premium.
I actually dont like the new ase, and the old ones just seem priced too high, silver maples look amazing and are a little cheaper
yeah the older ones look better IMO
India delivered price how much
If i had $300 or so to spend on my first stacking venture; what route would ya'll suggest? Thanks in advance.🙏
Silver Buffalo’s
Agree, silver buffs
to start yeah 1 oz generics probably
1/10th ounce AGE.
What is the legal and lawful benefit to owning silver eagles vs other sovereign coins.
Yeah i would like to know this too. What is the benefit for paying more?
buyback price is typically higher at coin shops
$3 over spot today at Costco..credit card price.
what a deal!
Premiums might be low but the spot price is high. For me to buy anymore ASE’s to total price would have to be $25 $26 area. When i look at buying you have to look at how much will it cost me. Premiums high spot price low or premiums low and spot high. Still gonna cost the same. This is why you look at total cost.
Generic rounds or Maples
Imagine if there was no premium on Eagles and it was a service provided by the states. Whatever the spot price would be the buying power of the dollar. Like it was a legal tender law or something (Article I, Section 10) Boom, Sauron defeated.
It is always time to stack silver. If you have money that doesn't need to be spent immediately. YES buy silver eagles! Buy any silver.
Short answer is Yes! Yet, don't tell anyone everyone thinks otherwise 😏
Only eagles I’ll be buying are the mint years I do not currently have…
👍🥈🦅🐉
👍
Glad to see the Chinese will now know to put security feature at the 9 o'clock so we won't have any shortages and they'll be priced below spot.
you dont think they look at the USMINT website lol
What about kilo bars ?
I love em if you already have a nice base of 1 oz
If I am able to get a good price, and at times I do, I am a buyer. However, I can pick up Phil's or Maples for a couple bucks less allowing me to pick up a couple more coins. Bottom line, buy what you like at a price you can afford.
Sale's over as of 4:48pm est
I hope there will be more
i personally sort through and find cloudy/milky ones in each of the tubes when purchasing. What are your thoughts of cloudy/milky coins? i have even mixed tubes with diff dates to avoid. Not sure if this is even an issue anyways?
eh my local coin shop doesn't seem to mind the milk
Can't wait till my table top looks like that. Also, Thank you Jesus for Saving us
yes thank you JESUS!
The latest Eagle on the reverse of the American Silver Eagle is the ugliest design of an eagle on a US coin or medal. It looks like it hasn't eaten in weeks. They should change it back to the original heraldic eagle.
Or a similar majestic eagle like the ones on:
The 2017 UHR Liberty reverse eagle, or
American Liberty 2016 Silver Medal reverse eagle, or
American Palladium Eagle 2023 reverse eagle, or
Preamble to the Declaration of Independence Platinum reverse eagle.
4 bucks premium is o.k. 15 bucks premium a while back was way too high. I quit buying them. I recently purchased a tube at the lower premium price.
Those are compass directions not clock positions.
Directions to what exactly? haha I suppose you could label compass directions themselves with a clock. its just what more people understand which is why I use the term junk silver as well. not because I prefer it but because thats what people understand
Wow, that is really sus that they planned to mint 28 million coins then only release 900,000 a month. Sounds like price manipulation to me.
lol...its ALWAYS the time.
I think calling it a "security feature" is really overselling it! I'd just call it the missing reed.
And it has less silver in it, lol. The Brits and Canadians have better security features than we do. What an embarrassment.
it does not have less silver lol. They all contain AT LEAST 1 oz of PURE silver and the rest is copper so you just get more free copper with 999 coins. @@lamarravery4094
The new reverse sucks. Wahhh....😢
true that
Why so few coins?
the rest are buried?
Price is already back to $30.39 lol
