Life is too short to stitch something that brings no joy - and the naysayers can just eff off. I laughed right our loud when you said “arsed” that’s such a kiwi saying! Love all your WIPS - so many gorgeous pieces, thank you for sharing them. Sorry to hear about your pain, and the mental toll that has slapped you with, it is so hard to be in pain and it does mess with your mind. 👻 this was a nice way to spend my friday evening. especially since i am a newer viewer! i got all caught up. sciatica is sooo painful. i got it from having a job where i stood on a concrete floor all day (i was in my 20s). something that helps me are specific stretches you do with your leg/hip (search sciatica stretches). mine flairs up still and that usually provides some relief, but it may depend on what is causing yours ♥️ having health issues definitely wears you down, it’s exhausting. i hope you can get some relief asap ♥️

Yes to 20 ct aida! I am doing the same (stashing) - love the ease of aida with the tiny, well covered, stitches :-) Your Greenhouse is GORGEOUS on that fabric!! Gahhhhh! Swap that board around! I think there may have only been a couple months this year that I actually did what was called - LOL! I just swap in pieces that are calling to me 🙂 Girllll - you take care of you 👻 I will message you. I was there in my 20's sciatica, back issues. I know the feeling. Keep your head up! You are loved!!

Lots of lovely projects and yes if it doesn’t bring you happiness than UFO it!! Hope your sciatica is getting better and you can get relief. I had it while I was pregnant and that shit is no joke. Sorry you are going through that.
I’m 23 and in a similar situation with my back. I fell back in December and landed on my tailbone. I’ve gone through so many drs appointments to try and manage the pain and figure out what was wrong. I found out I had DDD and then when the treatment wasn’t helping I got a second opinion. Turns out it’s my SI joints and I’m now on opioids and facing surgeries to fuse the joints. My mental health has taken a huge hit because of this. I’m thinking of you and hope you’re coping well with the life change. It can be very hard! Sending love ♥️
👻 Love your aesthetic! So much spooky dark stitching. Make sure to take care of yourself. Rest often, take breaks, and stretch occasionally while stitching. I once did the same thing bending over to pick up a laundry basket. Ugh, the worst! Heal soon. Subscribed!

If you are up to pinning or stretching your stitching, you can get sectional frame pieces from Herrchners. So you measure each side and find the closest size a little larger than your stitched piece. They come (2) pieces to a package. And they have a several styles. And I thought it looked great.
I had such a similar back injury around the same age! I didn't feel immediate pain but the next morning I couldn't do anything. There was no position that offered relief. I come from a family who sees chiropractors and after 6 weeks my pain was gone. My L5 was twisted (probably always was) and the swelling of the injury put pressure on all those nerves back there. Until the pain was gone I had no idea the toll it was taking on my mental health. Anyway, I now see a Gonstead chiropractor regularly because much like a sprained ankle it's easier for me to re-injure myself. Keeping everything in alignment (and doing specific exercises) helps keep the muscles strong and injury less likely. Look into it if you're interested, chiropractic care can be used in conjunction with traditional/medical treatment.
Also, fantastic WIPS! I loved them all and now I have to go seek out those furby ones, they're hilarious!

Cam thank you for your amazing mid-year WIP parade😊I feel for you and your pain; I been where you are in but my was due to a herniated disc that popped in low spine near tail bone and it was due to car accident I was in but long story short I was in extreme pain 5 months experiencing numbness in my legs but I had surgery to remove the disc am lots better this all happened in 2005 and while I was in college!!!! love love your kitty 😻 just take it easy and do what you able to do day by day, video only if you able and we still be here when you come back lots of love and hugs ♥️👻♥️👻♥️👻😻😻🫶🏽

Looking forward to your Dark Queen rechart. I love parts of both but trying to mash and blend them together is daunting. Also love seeing the patterns I am working on or have stashed to see what you’ve done with them. Definitely seeing your progress has shuffled my priorities on what I want to stitch on next.
I haven’t UFO’d anything…more stalled completely. They basically hang out in purgatory until I drag them out out of that guilt that I did spend money and time on them.
That sucks to hear about the chronic pain, I had some sciatic nerve pain while pregnant so I have felt that pain you described and it is brutal. I’m hoping that you can find some answers and relief soon.
My one cat loves to sleep on WIPs as well, it is apparently worthy of their hairy butts because of the time we invested in the piece

👻 ❤ so sorry about your back/hip😢. Loved seeing all your pieces. I started my goth vanity sampler but I converted the DMC to AVAS. I was able to get fairly close but 645 was the one I just couldn’t nail down but I was able to get something to work. Thanks for being so kind as to share. I’m sure your goth conversion sold charts for Liz! Always love watching you!

I’m the same with hyper focusing on new hobbies and consuming literally every media and information I can find on it. It keeps my brain hostage for weeks and months lol. Makes me think I have adhd sometimes. Most of those hobbies don’t stay, but cross stitching has stuck and so happy about that 💕Great video as always, I love WIP parades
Also, a cross-stitcher and a gamer? A match made in heaven! My husband doesn’t really have a sit-down hobby and sometimes I feel guilty when I just wanna stitch 😂
I do have ADHD lol, so you aren’t far off 😂

Urgh. - so sorry about the pain and the rain!!! In my shittiest of shit times I keep reminding myself that things won’t stay the same so I’m not stuck in that spot. Things will keep changing. Hope you find a useful mantra for you 😘

I didn’t understand the pain that back problems make. My husband has had the same pain as you’ve had. I’ve learned when you can’t be upright you have to call an ambulance. The ER won’t bring a rolling cot to you. He has permanent numbness in his calf and foot now. We live in a constant state of worry that there will be another flare up. He fell into a depression too as you have. I totally FEEL FOR YOU! Thank god you have people to lean on. Be strong!
I’m so sorry to hear that!!!! Yes! they were ill equipped to help at the ER and it’s really difficult to get doctors to listen to you. I hope he finds some relief 😓

Awesome WIP Parade. You have so many cool projects. And I literally cannot wait to see how you change up the Queen of the Earth. I was not too stoked on the face options either. The wooden face is my favourite but I hate the hair and how the “horns” connect with the wood above. I’m thinking of just doing my best to make them look like proper horns and not connect them to the top…
Also I am so sorry to hear about your sciatica flaring up and messing with your vacation. Having something affect your mobility and cause constant pain can be so draining and it makes sense you’re feeling low. I haven’t experienced anything quite to this extent but in 2020 (during my peak sitting era) I tweaked some of the nerves in my hip and couldn’t move or sit without severe discomfort. It was extremely disheartening and I struggled mentally as well :(. Fingers crossed your follow up will reveal the cause and help get you back on your feet pain free. All of this to say, I hope things clear up soon and I’m sending you all the positive vibes a UA-cam comment can contain 🖤👻

Sorry to hear about your sciatica, it’s a horrible condition but there’s light at the end of the tunnel and it’s treatable. I treat clients regularly and have seen full improvements. It might take some searching for a good physical therapist (it can be so hard to find a good one!). Likely piriformis related. If you ever need any advice please don’t hesitate to reach out. From a fellow stitched (who is also a musculoskeletal therapist).

Sending you lots of hugs! I'm sorry to hear about your medical issues and vacation. At least you are getting help from a doctor and seeing what all can be done. I have a feeling your partner didn't think of your vacation as a waste of time. He'd rather you be okay than in pain wandering around to museums, etc.

Yeah another Virginian stitcher (used to live near DC and now live in central VA). I am halfway through pandemic (LDS), and just got to 50% of changing seasons (F&R). Love the variety of patterns you are stitching and I tried really hard to not buy any more patterns as I too have a lot of WIPs . Hang in there with the hip pain 👻

READ ME! Put an ice pack on the area of your tailbone. It helps calm the radiating pain from sciatica. I have it on and off since my 20’s doesn’t mean your old just means your living life. I work in pain management as an LMT. If you have questions please reply and I’ll be glad to share some stretches also but the ice pack is your best friend at the tailbone.

I sure hope you feel better, but don’t put off going to a Neurologist if it continues to hurt bad. I’m 65 with severe back degeneration and now I have heart issues that won’t let me have elective surgery🤦🏽♀️. Please take care of yourself and keep us updated Cameron🥰

Amazing projects!! I think the Barbara Ana would look great it a frame. I love PTP but a magnifier light helps tons - I use the Brightech with a clamp for ~$30 The oval flower finish is really great - how did you get that mottling in the fabric? I wonder if massage could help the sciatica? If you can find medical massage maybe you can get insurance to pay - here in NYC I found someone who does myfascial release on hamstring overuse injuries and its made a big difference.
When I dye my fabrics I rinse the fabric with water first and then scrunch it up in a mason jar and then pour the dye mixture in. 🥰
👻 I'm not a huge fan of wip parades, but this was a fun one! Love your cat!...so cuddly. Sucks that (likely a disc problem) happened to you at such a young age. Mine started when I was in my late 30's with the similar 'pop'. If you haven't already checked UA-cam for helpful stretching exercises, 'Bob and Brad' is one I recommend.

Ghost emoji I know not how to do. I have sciatica. Thankfully, I respond to shots. I do not want surgery. The last shot took care of the lightning and numbness down my legs. Monday we will discuss the next shot that lets me bend mostly without pain. There are many options for treatment now. The best tool I have is the sciatic pillow. I pray you will find relief physically and mentally.

I hate that you are in so much pain, and our damn country makes you afraid to go to the ER or Dr b/c it will bankrupt what little money you have. I remember that time in my life so well and the trauma involved in making those decisions absolutely sucks. I also understand the vacation thing, you have just had an extremely rough time of it but I loved your WIP parade and hope you feel better soon and can get some relief
