Jordan said long ago, even before Bron had stepped foot in high school, that if he cared about stats, or was chasing stats that he would not have retired the first time, or the second time. Its hard to believe that someone that won 10 scoring titles wasnt chasing stats, but if you realize he was scoring to try to give his team the best chance to win, then i see that as possible.

Jordan’s role in the Bulls offense was primary scorer and he was the most unstoppable offensive threat the NBA has ever seen…his 10 scoring titles have absolutely nothing to do with chasing stats 😂😂😂
Back in the 80s and 90s even stars had to play within the offensive system of the coach…he wasn’t their primary ball handler who could run whatever offense he chose to like players can these days.
Go back and look at the sample of when MJ was moved to PG at the end of the 88-89 season…
He had 11 triple doubles in 12 games and averaged 34/11/11 along with 3 steals and almost 1 block per game. THAT is what he was capable of had he been able to run an offense like LeBron has been free to do his entire career.

It's very interesting that this generation doesn't truly understand what it means to rise up in the face of adversity. And much of this falls on the heels of players like Lebron, who took the easy route and led many NBA players down the same path. At this point, nothing he or his fans talk about are surprising anymore. Anything for shock value or clicks and views. And too, I no longer watch NBA games until that fraud leaves the league.

Keep up the good work, I just wanted to add to what u said, When MJ had came out of retirement to play for the wizards, before he tore his meniscus he was averaging 25. During the last 10 games before the injury, in that stretch he was averaging 29, he was just beginning to hit his stride. He had 4 40 pt games and 1 50 pt game, when he had 51 vs the Hornets and then 45 the very next game vs the Nets, the following month he had another set of back to back 40 pt games and had the Wizards sitting in 4th place in the East and had them projected to win about 47 games, when he got injured he did try to play thru it and his average dropped significantly averaging around 12 in those games. The injury was why he start the following season coming off the bench for the first few games to start the season. He had 3 more 40 pt games and in his last game at Madison Square Garden he had 39, during that game he had dived for the ball and busted his chin, he got on his teammates after saying that it was bad that a 40 year old man was playing with more effort than the younger guys.
