- Even though we are already 8 full weeks into Q4, I’m still making adjustments as we move into the second half of November. Here is my Q3 review and Q4 setup for my HB90 Method. I can’t wait to show you some of the new changes!

Sarah about the post it issue, theres a tombow glue tape called retry-c it mimics the post it glue on any paper, I have been using on my planner on cute post its that dont glue well and so far it has been amazing, its currently my favorite piece of stationery, anything can become a post it now!

Brilliant way to maintain goals while away from house
I'm listening while packing orders and nodding along and then had to stop and cheer for the WOT show! Kat and I are gonna binge the first three episodes Friday afternoon so they don't have to worry about school the next day.
My husband wants to take a day off to watch the Wheel of Time show. LOL These videos always get me to review my goals and tasks. I love new ideas on how to do the kanban board, sticky notes on the board didn't work but in a planner, in the week I want to get it done. I am trying to get back in a good habit of reviewing my planner weekly and daily again. If that doesn't happen then no planning happens. I always love your videos from both channels! For several days I didn't write anything. Today, I changed the plot completely, but kept the theme and the characters. I counted the words I wrote setting up the world and the plot. Now my story is exiting me.
I am still trying to find a system that works for me. I love the idea of having just the tasks for the week on a separate board, this would allow my brain to not worry about the rest.
Hi Sarra, Another way to create a To-Do section with your folder Kanban is to washi two folders together. Basically, you open two folders like a book. Then place the right side of the left folder on top of the left side of the right folder and stick the two parts together. You will have a double fold and all of your stickies in one place. I'm glad to hear this! I would love to see you give it a try. It's strange how putting together images and really giving yourself permission to go after what you really want can be such a great focus tool. I am going to start working on something for it!

I might want to try the folders. I have been thinking I might repurpose a magnetic / white erase multi-sided display if I can find a place for it. I would like the vision board programs. I am muddling through q4 and didn't get my board etc set up. You have so much on your plate and you accomplished quite a bit. Pat yourself on your back.
I have been using a Kanban for the last few years. I first started in a folder as I don't have a wall I can use. I then moved it all in to my Filofax. on a weekly basis post its are moved into my current planner (which changes most months). I have mainly utilised the card pockets in planner covers which works really well. I will be doing a series of planning video's on my Kanban and quarterly planning in the new year. I love your videos love always from the UK xx

Haha, I love this. It's funny how inspiring it can feel just to see a different take on something. That's one of the things I love about UA-cam and a community of sharing. So many ideas out there to try when you feel like doing something new.

I was watching some girl randomly do envelope cash stuffing earlier and her system was so cute and organized that I was like… maybe I could do that… even though I don’t do anything remotely close to that system lol
I really bombed my Q3 due to problems within my environment. I've decided to pick myself back up and plant my '6 months to life', then go over what I should have done in Q3 and finally plan out my Q4. I've already started planning my 22. I agree, My 3 goals are work, university and catch-up overall. I've got my mini sticky notes out.

Your videos help to inspire me each day. Thank you! I also appreciate how you give us not only great recommendations, but you are so good at giving us sizing and other information we might need. I taught school for years and you said something very important in this video regarding how you want people to take what you offer, advice and ideas, and use them in a way that suits them. That's exactly what teaching means, giving all the blocks then allowing your students to put them together. You are doing a fabulous job of lifting us all to be the best we can be. You are a shining light in the writing community. Don't ever forget that.

Q4 was not off to a great start for me (as work was and is dragging me down) but I tried very hard to get infected by your positivity and motivation and let my own light shine while helping others. Doing Preptober with your help was an amazing experience (and next time I know so much more of what I should and shouldn't plan, it will be even greater!). I was not expecting much from NaNo, but the Hearties just made it impossible for me to not sit down and write. And boy, did I write. Over 27k so far and still going each day and that's all because of you. So thank you, thank you, thank you, for being an inspiration and for your kindness!

A couple of years ago, a friend of mine got me a Scribbles That Matter Bullet Journal and I was doing monthly goals. I had a double-page spread that I used similar to the way you're using the folders now. I didn't have a "to-do" portion though. I just moved them from "To-Do" to "Done" as I worked on them. I flipped to it daily and just pick and chose what I wanted to work on for the day. It worked at the time. I need more organization than that now, but the basic concept is awesome. Not going to lie, I love my poster board Kanban board though.
I created a spreadsheet for others to add tasks they need me to work on at my job, and after a while I adjusted the Google Sheet so it's set up kind of like a kanban board. There's three sections, with color coded headings. It's pleasant to look at and I figure it's easier for anyone peeking in to see where we're at on their project.
I love that you found a system that works for you while on the road.

I watch your nano vlog when I'm getting ready to go to school (I'm a teacher) and Everytime I think "If Sarra can do all of.this while she's moving from place to place, I can finish the school year" lol. 18 days left in my school year. I need a reward for that!

I feel like I’m floundering with my forward planning. I just can’t get by brain to work with a kanban. I’ve got into the terrible habit of having all the things to do immediately and then never actually getting anything done. Definitely need to sit down and sort out a system
Oh! I love this!!! I'm planning on making a video to explain how I'm using it, but your traveling Kanban board inspired me!! I was using a big wall novel planning system but when we moved to Maui, we moved into a studio apartment, which meant I had NO walls to work with! So then I saw one of your previous videos on using this traveling system and a lightbulb went on! I converted your idea into a traveling plotting board with folders!!! I am currently using it for NaNoWriMo. So excited Sarra! Thank you!!!

I’ve just started this system but digitally, on Notion. It’s made such a difference in my goal setting, I’m loving it. I’m seeing how it goes being digital, but I know what you mean by needing visibility.

I've been wanting to update my vision board so I would love to see you do some videos on that!
I tried the Kanban method in several ways, since I'm also quite the visual person. I did it on Trello, and then I tried following your method with the sticky notes... But they did not seem to work for me. It seems like planning in my bullet journal is the most effective way for me, because I plan first my big quarterly goals near the end of the previous quarter, then, I do the monthly goals when setting up my month in the bullet journal, and then I plan each week, or even daily, and it seems to work better when I write down the tasks close to when I need to do them, if that makes sense.
It's not perfect yet, I think I need something to compliment that method to keep my head in the game, but it still is the method I found works best for me personally.

I've started using folders like you instead of a board. I like the visual and physical notes but don't really have room in my studio to hang a board. I tried one but it was across the room and I just didn't bother getting to it. Also, like you, the sticky notes I was using were Post-It notes and kept falling off the board. So I'm trying the folders (bought some pretty ones like you did) for now. We'll see how that works for the rest of this quarter.
My staff at my day program wants me to do a vision board. I don’t know how I want to do it so that would be really helpful.
I have my board on my wall and even though I have myself less tasks than last quarter, there hasn’t been much progress. It’s been a few days since I’ve written but I also am giving myself grace since we drive so much these past few days.
I think my tasks might be too big of chunks and I might try breaking them up smaller next time.
If you're taking requests ;p I would love to see a vision board vid as well as a Plottr video. As an aside, I live in Austin, TX and it's a crazy fun town but also very pricey, especially if looking for land. However, there are some areas outside of town that offer space and still get you a car-ride away from what Austin offers. My prefence is for west and southwest of Austin, and places like Wimberly, Marble Falls, Horseshoe Bay, Spicewood, Dripping Springs are worth looking at. I grew up in Houston and my sister lives in The Woodlands and likes it there very much, but I think if you are interested in land, you would need to look in Magnolia. My inlaws all live in a salty, scubby little fishing town on the Gulf called Sargent. It's about 1.5 hours from Houston. Texas has no state income tax but property taxes are very, very high as a result. Many people are moving here from California only to realize it's all a wash in the end. Naturally, these things depend on income and price of property, but in general, it's a wash.
If not Amazon, where do you *usually* find your sticky/Post-It notes in a wide range of colors?

Sarra, at what point do you remove a goal that has been in place for a while w/o being completed? The Manifestation Babe Academy has been a repeated goal for you (maybe not always on the board?) and I actually have like 2 goals that I can't seem to complete either--so I was thinking of just forgetting them until maybe I had more mental capacity--but it feels slightly like a fail. Is it best to just keep said goal front and center until its done or remove it and come back to it later?
