Milchick tries to break Helly in the Break Room
“Forgive me for the harm I have caused this world. None may atone for my actions but me and only in me shall their stain live on. I am thankful to have been caught, my fall cut short by those with wizened hands. All I can be is sorry, and that is all I am.” Episode of “Severance” on Apple TV Plus.
Ben Stiller has really been a pleasant surprise as a director.
It's not a break room as in having a break.
It's a break room as in... they literally break you.
Thank you, Sherlock.
Doesn't this break Milchick too? Like imagine having to stay in the room the whole time
@@PissedOffBanker well he's the one in control so i'm sure he isn't affected at least not in the level as the ones that come in the room to get tortured
Sherlock strikes again
The catatonic look on Helly's face when she's back in the macro, plus barely able to mumble "1,072" is amazing acting.
1:57-2:11 is like not being able to wake up from your nightmare
Yea it's horrible...
Tramell Tillman is so fucking good in this show, but especially in this scene, absolute ice cold.
A perfect illustration of what our modern world has come to. At least when it comes to the office environment. I hear working at Amazon fulfillment centers is true hell
some excellent piece of existential dread, sound design is pure creepy gold.
Doesn’t anyone else notice how the sound design and that train sound is eerily similar to David Lynch, specifically Inland Empire and Rabbits.
I love the shot where "MY ACTIONS" cover the whole screen with Mr. Milchek is behind it.
Oh Helena. There are some who live this existence, one thousand fold. Wouldn't that be horrifying?
F*ck, its like working for Amazon Web Services.
Again.
Music?
Wth is that voice
I think those voices are the way to break a subconscious mind. Helly heard a muffled angry voice (maybe her fahter Eagan or the board). Dylan mentioned that he heard a baby cry (maybe his son). It's like everyone's weakest point...
@ that seems to be the logical conclusion but since they were innies I thought it was strange since their memories are suppressed
@@Rctdcttecededtef Yes, their memories are suppressed but maybe the subconscious is still here?
@ hopefully it's answered in S2 but I have a feeling youre right
I don’t understand why she didn’t just refuse to do this, like they never actually threatened anyone with violence
I had that thought as well. If they were to just sit there for hours, then it would be come a contest to see who can stand to sit there the longest and so, in a way, it would be the same torture for both of them.
Well, they DO threaten the innies with physical violence, too. In one of the episodes, after Mark goes to the Break Room, the scene cuts to him on his second date with Alexa and his knuckles are all red. There's also the Lexington Letter (which is cannon, btw) and Peggy comes up the elevator one day and she states that she felt as though she'd been crying and her hair was wet (most likely from being waterboarded). So yeah, it's not like they won't turn to physical violence if the innies don't comply. Whatever they can explain away to the outties, they'll do :/
Theres also the aspect of their personalities not knowing how to emotionally respond to anything the way their outies do, so I would imagine there is almost a fear of an authoritarian father figure disapproving of you happening inside them in all these interactions with management teams
