Considering that Windows 11 is installed in millions or even billions of PCs, it wouldn't make a difference in the way society perceives Windows since it's pre-installed in many PCs and wouldn't care much about it, unless they have some tech knowledge, but I don't think it's hard to explain what's a keylogger to the average user. Linux distros like Mint, Ubuntu and Kubuntu are good alternatives since they're easy to use and fullfill many tasks, including gaming unless Kernel-level anti-cheats prevent you from accessing them.

Most of the Windows users don't know much about tech, so IDK if it'll make a difference due to the social inertia introduced by the over-reliance on Windows, but Linux could be a great alternative since it can be an OS that'll work well for the average user, schools or even offices. For me, Windows is only useful for gaming and apps that might not work well even with Wine or Proton, but I think Linux is a great option due to privacy, security and possibly customization.
I totally agree, I've been primarily using Linux for the last 3 years and rarely touch my windows vm. With over 90 titles in my steam library, and only 3 games are giving me compatibility issues, whereas 3 years ago, I would be lucky to have 3 playable. Linux definitely isn't for everyone, nor is it a perfect windows replacement (yet), but over the last couple decades the barrier to entry has been significantly reduced.

Unfortunately unless you know what you are doing, messing around in registry can spell doom for your OS. That’s why it’s not as easy to access as in years/versions past. Windows owns a monopoly on the drivers for VIDEO GAMES, they're not going anywhere, there are linux and mac equivalents for every software, that's not what's keeping microsoft in the kings chair.
@yeahitsmesofkinwhat while that's true at least AMD drivers are typically Linux compatible. And those who use Linux are a bit more on the tech savvy side, so solutions are possible to find.
I also heard some news about NVIDIA hiring a dev who worked on making Linux drivers, so only time will tell whether that move was to help or hurt us

It's not. Why do you think Windows 10 is still the most popular OS today? Even then, I'm pretty sure the only reason Win 11 is so high is because it's being bundled with every new PC.
Also part of the reason Microsoft is cutting support for it, with the exception of them charging for extended security. If they can't have/sell your data, they figure the least you could do is give them more money.

@@thomasquwack9503they are talking about going into the system registry and deleting copilot that way. Unfortunately unless you know what you are doing, messing around in registry can spell doom for your OS. That’s why it’s not as easy to access as in years/versions past. You could probably Google it but I don’t know if I’d advise actually trying it unless you are willing to wipe and reinstall windows if you break it, or if you are confident in your abilities.
