    Hi! I own a Brymen 869s but today I just ordered a Uni-T UT61E+ meter (74 euros discounted on aliexpress) as a more handy meter, because yes, the Brymen is obviously a much more "serious" and precise multimeter, BUT it's very heavy, very big, it's rather slow in the autorange mode, and lacks a proper auto-hold function, and its selector knob is very hard to turn. For my normal use (small power electronics), I don't need that precision and neither I need high voltage protection features. Rather, I need a lighter, smaller and faster multimeter. I won't give away the Brymen, but I think I will end up using the cheap Uni-T much often than the Brymen. I noticed that the UT61E+ has a rather useless transistor HFE measuring function instead a more useful temperature measuring function, and that the NCV is pretty useless, but who cares... In the end, 99% of the uses of a multimeter in small power electronics are DC voltage measurement to the tenth of a volt, checking continuity and measuring resistence to 5% accuracy or worse...

    • @TonyAlbus
      @TonyAlbus  Місяць тому

      Yes sometimes you find the solution that works for you in two devices and not only one exspensive one. its works different for everyone. in the end you need to find out what works best your you... after a while you know what you are regularly using and what not.

    Question about the multimeter Brymen 867s or Brymen 780. When measuring DC current in mA and A (10 A) modes, is there a difference in readings at the same current value? For example, in milliamp mode, 150 mA is measured and without changing the current, switch the limit and the probe to amperes, it will show 0.16 A. Make the current load from the resistor, or if it is a PSU, then with current regulation disabled. Will there be such readings or will there be the same 150 mA and 0.15 A?

    • @TonyAlbus
      @TonyAlbus  Рік тому

      In practice the multimeters resistens is usualy so low it will not influance your mesuerment. but if you shortcircuited your psu with your multimeter, you need a very stable constantcurrect psu, becouse then the multimeter is the only resistance that is the load and then it will make a difference. also accuracy is ususaly in X% +Y-digits of the scale... if Y is 1 digit.. that meens in 150 mA it can display 149-151 .. but in the other range 0.14-0.16 ..

    • @Igor_user

    Die Brymen zit toch echt wel in een andere league hoor.
    Qua nauwkeurigheid, bouwkwaliteit, veiligheid en elektrische robuustheid denk ik dat je geen betere meter vindt onder de €500.
    (Behalve het iets duurdere broertje de bm869s, die doet ook dual temp, vfd en is nog iets nauwkeuriger (0,02%))
    Dus die BM867s is een koopje wat je er voor krijgt.
    De min/max functie (crest) werkt ook heel goed.
    Jammer dat bij brymen de pc interface los gekocht moet worden en relatief duur is.

    Sorry to tell but actually I'm very disappointed with this comparison.
    As I have this Brymen things you should say:
    01. Brymen has a 2-row screen. So you have a lot more pieces of information during measurements without "turning the wheel" up and down (it saves your work time).
    02. Brymen has 9V battery and diode test voltage 3,5V - which are nice.
    You don't have problems with loose AA batteries and have an easier life in checking LEDs.
    Which is far more important in daily life than one "digit more after coma" in most measurements.
    03. You didn't compare how fast they are working in measurements like resistance or buzzer mode - another important thing during work (no one likes losing time because of a slow multimeter).
    So basically, during your comparison You show nothing real important for most users in their daily work life.
