I didn't get this at first but it's the Federation that's big and Starfleet is a smaller, sub-organization within the Federation, from Earth alone. Even though it has members of other races in it, it's still one organization originating on one planet. It doesn't possess the vast resources of the collective Federation.

STUNNING !!! The level of detail is Hollywood and beyond! Those windows. Those bussard collectors. Just incredible work to say the least. Thank you !!!!!
It’s great to see fans bringing new designs/ideas + that Enterprise looks great. But no ship will ever be as beautiful as the original re-fit Constitution. She’s as close to perfect as could ever be. This is fantastic work though, kudos... 👍
Now that's a beautiful model, you can even see the interior of the ship through the windows so I think it has a lot more details that the original model. Very well done.
🖖😎👍Very cool and very nicely well done and executed in every detail way shape and form provided on this renovation and recreation of the Enterprise from Startrek the Motion Picture indeed!.

Nice job on the radio traffic. But the squelch breaks are a little too prominent for digital radio transmissions. I love 95% of this video. I love the much better translation of the Enterprise into the JJVerse, the slight upgrade on all of the models, and one of the few composers that could measure up to Jerry Goldsmith is Elliot Goldenthal and that track from Sphere is phenomenal. What kills it is the Enternal Light track. It completely kills the feeling that you got with even using "Leaving Spacedock" on your preview. If you stayed with that and played with the sound editing (or find another Elliot Goldenthal track), it would have been amazing. With this, I hope you're happy with a 9/10.
@@BVCStudios I look forward to that video 😀 The refit and the Enterprise-A design has always been my favorite design in Star Trek. After a couple of views, I've grown to like this musical score. Also, this is now my FAVORITE Enterprise!!! I REALLY like this design A LOT!!! GOOD JOB!! BTW... I'd like to see how you'd redesign the Klingon ships.
My opinion? The Nacelles look too phalic and the Bridge Windows/Transparent Aluminum are too angled, that and the nacelle's transition from rectangular to cylindrical is just too jarring to me. Other than that, pretty good design! Meshes the Kelvin Enterprise and the Refit TMP Enterprise pretty well!
This is the clip I refer to whenever I ask the question: What happened to the missing year? Kirk has been CSO for 2.5 years and Enterprise is just finishing up 1.5 years of redesign/Refit. That's why I believe that this Enterprise is brand new. Starfleet needed a year to scrap the old one.
We needed the TMP soundtrack. That sort of music, you simply don't casually toss to the side. Also, the travel pods doors retracted into the body of the shuttle.
What a beautiful ship. Now if we could push this timeline further and keep the general design language (especially the pylons) for the B, C, and D, I would be happy.

The Kelvin timeline Enterprise is *not* 725 meters and I will argue that with JJ Abrams and any other "executive" at Paramount anytime they feel like. In a nutshell it's approximately 304 meters, give or take, depending on how long the necelles are. The leading edge of the saucer section is the telling factor and anyone who does models and understands scales can see it instantly. In TMP through Undiscovered Country the Enterprise has 2 decks on the lead edge of the saucer. In Star Trek 2009 , where Enterprise is reported to nearly 2 and a 1/3 times the size, it still does. Looking at the windows along the engineering section as well you'll see the decks have to either have massively high ceilings, or there's just not enough of them. The decks are *ALWAYS* going to tell you how tall something is, and from that, you can figure out how long, and how wide it is. Saying that, I thoroughly enjoyed the Kelvin movies, and see them as a great addition to Star Trek, giving us good insight into Leonard Nimoy's (RIP) Spock after TNG. The blending here, of old and new USS Enterprise, is beautiful and well done ❤
I feel you--from what I can tell, what happened was they built the first version of the ship to the original Ent scale (289 meters I believe), but when it was on screen it apparently lacked 'grandeur' so instead of rebuilding the ship to the increased scale they just took the model and scaled the ENTIRE thing at once, which made all the other elements like the windows and decks completely out of proportion. It was a decision made for pure production/spectacle purposes. also 725 meters is way too big. This version is sitting around 430 meters long, but that is with 8 foot high decks. When I finalize I'd really like to get it under 400 meters to more closely match the 309 meters of the refit, but the decks and windows will all have to make sense at whatever scale =) Thanks for your kind words!
Offhand for their small shuttlepod, going from the other station to the Enterprise,.. it's so small that it's unlikely to have full gravity plating & it didn't appear they were wearing magnetic boots for keeping their feet to the floor in the shuttlepod, while they were intransit from the other location to when they docked at Enterprise,... Any other such explanation (in universe) how they kept their normal standing ability when they should have been floating in the shuttlepod, until docking?
@kevinwestrom4775 hmm I'm not totally sure how travel pods are supposed to work I'll have to research it...it obviously had some type of artificial gravity which suggests a big power source?
Shatner acted this one to perfection. The look in his eyes, as they approach the Enterpise, is the look of a man seeing his bride.

Starfleet as big as it is there is never another starship within range of the mostest important location of the Federation of Planets.
